The food was pretty good and the drinks were ok, but the service was not great. We were greeted with "what can I get you to drink?", no "hello" or anything. We felt rushed the entire time even though we waited for almost an hour for our food to come. The server even came over and asked us if we had gotten our food when clearly we had no plates on the table. Then she tried to take my friend's plate from her at least two or three times while she was still actively eating dinner. We were also seated directly under an AC vent and we were FREEZING the entire time. All and all a just ok experience with some pretty good food. read more

The food was good, but the drinks were even better! I was there with my sisters and cousins, we were having a girls late lunch. We all tried the jalapeño-cucumber margarita, mango margarita, and the spicy mango martini. They were all delicious!! Our waiter, Fortino was amazing! He took care of us and made sure we were comfortable. We were seated inside but wanted to sit outside, and Fontino accommodated our request immediately. We literally stayed there for almost 4 hours. Came here for a work lunch and sat on the patio. It was a nice day and the server did his best to accommodate our large group. The guacamole was and the chips were the perfect level of crispy. I didn't get a chance to try the salsa for the table but everyone said it was good. I ordered from their lunch combo menu and got a chicken enchilada. It was delicious! The sauce was flavorful and the shredded chicken was tender. I love rice and beans in any form so the giant mounds was a big plus. I also got an iced tea and modelo negro. EPIC FEED. There was nothing not to like with our food, cocktails, and service. I have my own "test" which is essentially meaningless to most people but I call it the Trifecta Burrito. I custom order it almost everywhere I go for Mexican food on the first visit. It sets a baseline for comparison. The Trifecta consists of steak, chicken, and shrimp. Add Spanish rice, refried beans, Pico de Gallo, Guac, Sour Cream, and sometimes a touch of lettuce and/or onions. This place put one together that takes the cake. It was the size of an Elephants D, and had phenomenal flavors. The chicken was shredded and marinated, the steak grilled, and the shrimps were FAT. I thought I had seen it all until this bad boy showed up. Our waiter was great....he kept feeding four old white guys a bunch of sugary drinks (Margarita pitchers, Pina Coladas, and Beer) and did not let us go dry. It was irrelevant that two in our party probably required a blood transfusion after this meal but it was worth it. Side note - The Chile Relleno and taco platter got very high marks as well. Please let the pictures do the talking. A review would not be complete without some type of beat down, so here it is. Reupholster some of the seats in the booths as they are torn. I avoided this place for years due to some of the ratings. My loss. Really great Mexican food. Nice ambiance. Efficient service. Entire staff was courteous. We ordered the Fiesta sampler. There is room for improvement with this dish, but the jalapeño poppers were tasty. The taquitos were quite a disappointment. Cheese quesadilla wasn't great either. The flour tortilla tasted stale. I have been here about 6 times and always order the vegetarian fajitas and enjoy the meal. Last night I ordered a vegetarian wet burrito and it was the weirdest burrito I have had. The burrito inside had as the vegetables carrots, peas, and garbanzo beans. It was more like a veggie wrap with rice and enchilada sauce. It didn't taste bad but it did not taste like Mexican food either. Hubby's watermelon margarita was also super watered down. I know inflation is impacting everyone, but don't lessen the quality of your food. read more

Very cute Mexican restaurant in the town of Dublin. The greeted us with chips and salsa and two margaritas! They were so good with the orange juice , they tasted like a mimosa. We ordered the Luis street tacos and the special of the day birria queso tacos and a side of rice of beans. The tacos were amazing, with the consumé, raddish and pickled onions! So I called 2 weeks in advance to inform them that I had a 12 person party and that we were celebrating a bday. Everything was good when we arrived, on time, but we did notice that it was very packed. We were seated and given menus. Our waitress was already frazzled so we wanted to order quickly so as not to have her going back and forth since we are a big party. Our reservation was at 6:30. We placed our order by 6:45. We ordered drinks and those came quickly but she kept bringing us the wrong order of drinks. We chalked it up to it being busy so no worries. We repeatedly had to ask her to bring us a drink menu. Again, we were understanding that it was busy. It is now 7:45 and absolutely no food. Every person we had asked nicely about an update on our food kept telling us it will be here in 5 min but it would never arrive. Our waitress was rude, she often walked away as we tried to order drinks, and rolled her eyes anytime we asked for an update on our food. Luckily the other waitresses were really kind and trying to get an update for us. I reminded our waitress that it was now over and hour with multiple promises on when our food would arrive. Again, still polite. I informed her that we had a reservation at 8:30 PM and we didn't want to rush eating our food as we still had a cake to cut etc. SHE WALKED AWAY WHILE I WAS SPEAKING TO HER. so, now we're angry because we've been more than patient. We go complain to the manager and even he looks angry with us. Like how are you upset with us when you knew of our large party and your employee was rude to us?! Come to find out supposedly the machine for the orders broke down and they had lost our order. So, you mean to tell me that at no point in the last hour when we have asked where our food was, and were repeatedly told it'd be here in 5 min, that NO ONE thought to confirm that our food order had been received?! At that point we had enough of the terrible service so we asked for our cake back and to cancel whatever order they just now decided to make. They comped our drinks and supposedly were going to call to give us gift cards to makeup for it yet we never got a call. On our way out my uncle is speaking to another waitress and he's telling her how unfortunate it was but how glad he was that she was being so helpful and this man, who is eating there, decides to insert himself into the convo. We told him to please mind your business this was between us and the restaurant. He then proceeds to tell my uncle that he also had a problem with the service and handled it "professionally." Sir, you were not in the back room with us when we politely asked our waitress several times where our food was. Or us thanking the other servers who were very helpful. You just decided to insert yourself into a problem that had nothing to do with you. So of course that lead to an argument. The restaurant did nothing to try to calm the situation or be helpful. Absolutely nothing! They ruined my husbands bday and most of the people we came with had driven 2 hours to be there all to just not eat. We ended up missing our other reservation at 8:30 PM because of the delay. I have been here several times and seen the bad reviews on service but never had that experience until now. The food tastes great and is the only reason we keep returning. Service is crap, starting from the host/hostesses who are on their phones or chit chatting about personal matters while ignoring customers. Some servers are attentive, others are just slow and non-existent. During our most recent experience (3/11/24), we arrived to celebrate a birthday. Hostess was polite and seated us quickly. Once seated, a server promptly provided us with water and chips and salsa. Then we waited over 20 min for someone to greet us and take our order. We saw another server, but he kept sitting with guests and showing them photos on his phone; clearly, he was having a social hour. When our server finally arrived, he was prompt on refills and grabbing limes and straws. However, from time of ordering, it took 45 min to receive our food. Everyone's dish was cold, but at that point, we were hungry and our server was MIA. My burrito bowl was missing ingredients, had tiny proportions and was a complete let down. I've ordered this several times and this was not up to par. When our server finally checked on us, he apologized for the cold temperatures of our food and didn't say a word about my burrito bowl not being made correctly. Eventually, he asked us about dessert and we decided not to purchase or celebrate my birthday, as we originally planned. I didn't want to wait 6 hours for dessert to arrive and be disappointed by it. Our server was made aware of the birthday celebration, but nothing was mentioned. He seemed very inexperienced and couldn't problem solve. We will be back for the food, but I hope to not sit in his section again. Hopefully the kitchen is better staffed as well. "Brave the Dublin Wind Tunnel!" The restaurant has expanded the patio seating, to include the parking lot. They've installed several large umbrellas, weighted down by sandbags, to try to withstand the fierce Dublin winds. Outdoor dining in Dublin is a risky proposition. During the summer, fierce winds often come roaring through town, making outside dining uncomfortable. I was fortunate today, and the winds stayed under 50 miles per hour. Today I ordered a light beer and a chicken quesadilla dish. I thought the quesadillas were excellent, and a large portion, but the outside dining was really just okay. There's also a patio area. Next time I'm trying that instead. I thought the prices were on the high side. There really isn't anything special here to bring me back. Nothing bad, but nothing really that great either. I've been here (once in Livermore, twice in Dublin) before and really enjoy the old-school Mexican restaurant vibes, which it seems a bit hard to find in the East Bay. The food has been a hit or a miss at times (slightly inconsistent), including their complimentary salsa and chips. However, their Mexican rice is DELICIOUS, especially considering it is vegetarian unlike at many other restaurants that cook their rice in chicken/beef broth. I do think the restaurant could consider hiring more staff so the tables can be attended to more quickly/efficiently. The staff was very helpful which we really appreciated, especially with operating the wheelchair lift for my 90 year old grandmother - and they did it with a smile! read more

Not too many Mexican restaurants in our area, and this one is a staple! We usually get the street tacos and a shrimp quesadilla. Always good. So why not 5 stars? Enjoyed a really terrific dinner at Casa Orozco. Ordered nachos and a combination dinner and everything was very tasty. I enjoyed their very crispy chips and flavorful salsa, as well. I was happy with everything except the hostess seating a solo diner in a large room with a party of 25 people or so. The noise became very loud very quickly and I didn't fault the large party, I do think the management needs to train the hostess to seat smaller parties in a different area. There were many empty tables as I left and I couldn't eat quick enough to get out of there quickly. Fortunately, I asked for a to go box and was able to take the balance of my dinner back to the hotel and was able to enjoy it the following night with lots of peace and quiet from my room. read more

With a great burrito from the Livermore location, I decided to review the menu with greater interest and detail. Shrimp Cocktail Veracruz!?! Ordered a carry out for dinner. The classic mexican shrimp cocktail is made with diced tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, and shrimp. Arrived warm and with a jumbo pieces of shrimp. Avocado, fresh limes, and tostada shells on the side. My bf and I wanted try casa orozco because of their live music on the weekends. We came her last Friday evening and we're seated right away on the patio overlooking the live music. It was pretty loud and couldn't really hear the waiter. We ordered two drinks. Spicy cucumber and another cocktail I can't remember. The spicy cucumber had way to many sliced jalapeños and small chunks for cucumbers. It was way too sweet for a spicy drink and I honestly got a headache when I got home. That means the tequila used was bottom self. My bf drink was sweet as well and tasted like ways watered down quickly. We ordered the chicken soup and the combination taco plate. The soup was bland and I felt like they used canned tomatoes in there. The chicken has no flavor and was just boiled in the soup. I had to add pepper into my soup for taste. I literally ate all the veggies and left the soup. The chicken soup was highly recommended by other yelpers too. My bf taco plate was bland as well. The meats were not seasoned. It tasted like they just threw it on the grill and called it a day. Will I come back? No. Music was the only thing I liked that night. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Casa Orozco because I didn't have a great first impression. We had called to make a reservation but when we got there, we weren't on the reservation list. The place was packed and it was loud. My initial impression wasn't great. Once we were seated, our server came over. She took our order quickly and was amazingly efficient during such a busy time. We got margaritas and they were very good but they should be for the price we paid. The food was also quite good. I ordered veggie fajitas. The veggies were fantastic and the sides were OK. My kids got bean and cheese burritos and they said they were OK. My husband got the chili relleno and he loved it. Overall, the atmosphere was too much. It was very loud and very busy. Came here last Friday for lunch for a coworker's birthday! I ordered the fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimp ($24) and it came with pinto beans, salsa and guacamole with a side of flour or corn tortilla. The portions are huge but the steak and chicken were on the dry side and some of the meat was hard to chew. The shrimp was very good though! Sunday night dinner. First timer. Not sure how to feel about this place. The servers seem really overwhelmed for the volume and pace of the establishment. Not sure what your floor chart looks like in terms of sections but it doesn't seem like a good flow for staff. I am in the restaurant industry myself and sadly this just creates a weird vibe and it is quite the distraction. The entire experience felt rushed. Also, I don't think I have ever been to a Mexican establishment that doesn't serve horchata. Perhaps this is the new norm? Or maybe it is just new to me... not a deal breaker. The frozen strawberry margarita was the highlight of my visit. The chimichanga was okay-- the flavor was there I just didn't enjoy much because I was so irritated with the overall experience. First nobody was at the front desk to seat me. Then finally someone came. Then I was seated and nobody came to take my order. So I left.

8/2023: So sad. My first time back since before COVID. Ordered takeout. Menu has been edited and condensed. Favorite dish is gone. Loved their chicken in mole sauce. Think they called it chicken a la Poblana. Used to be 2 grilled chicken breasts smothered in rich, dark and umami mole sauce. Now the chicken is served as enchiladas, shredded and mixed with a sauce that looked the same but had no flavor or depth. We were really craving Mexican food- me- tacos, the boyfriend- quesadillas, so we stopped by Casa Orozco. I am super picky with taco shells. I know that's weird but my favorite taco shell is "homemade" or at least made in the restaurant, thick, crispy, somewhat irregular looking (so I can tell it's not made by a machine). So yeah, I compare every Mexican place to my favorite local taco joint. First of all, thjs place is huge! Either they do events here or it's poppin' on the weekends. We went here on a Monday afternoon. Too bad we didn't have a kid with us because kids eat free in Monday's (with purchase of an adult entree). I ordered a combo plate with two crispy shredded beef tacos with rice and beans. It was already about $16 which to me is kinda pricey for Mexican food. For $1 more I could get one more item so my bf got a carne asada taquito. The bf got a chicken quesadilla, which is on the menu as an appetizer. Also pretty pricey but the portions for both were huge. While we were waiting for our food, we got chips and salsa. The chips were so on point- crispy and the perfect amount of salt. The salsa was good but definitely had some heat. My throat was a little scratchy already and I could feel the heat as I swallowed. I washed it down with orange Fanta. Don't often see that drink on the menu, so we couldn't resist. The tacos were pretty yummy, the shell was tasty but I still like my local spot better. I asked for enchilada sauce on top of my refried beans which basically turns it into bean dip. Yum! The Spanish rice was ok, but starchy. Either they over cooked it or they add an extra starch in it? Not sure. The chicken quesadilla was pretty good- cheesy and crispy. It is perfect for an appetizer because it's a large amount- definitely shareable. Our server was really friendly and attentive.
