Just walking in the door I knew I'd love the food. It's a small space that many restaurants have attempted but failed. I'm hoping this place succeeds and stays a long time. I noticed that they have a catering menu, very smart in this neighborhood. I intended on getting a pasta dish because everything here is handcrafted daily but I saw the Spinaci alla Razdora daily special and had to have it. I saw all kinds of pizza pies and some beautiful pastas that I'll try next time. So the special was baked spinach mixed w/ four types of cheese, sauteed mushrooms & onions served with a beautiful light slice of herbed foccacia. The spincah was just transcending...perfectly cooked, mushrooms and onions sauteed just right...a wonderful balance of flavors and the foccacia was like air. Just want to add praise to Casa Razdora. This is really a great example of why going a little out of your way for lunch can really pay off. Even though I work on Washington St. in Downtown I don't mind the 5 minute walk and 8 minute wait. When you realize what $7 can buy you here compared with other places I'm guessing you won't mind the wait either. I got pizza my first time here, and it was excellent. The sauce on it tasted very fresh, and the dough was not over cooked. Perfect! The next time I came here I went with the Diavolo. Simply amazing! One of the tastiest lunches I have had in my 12 years working in Downtown. Easily up there with the Rumanian Pastrami at Sam La Grassa's and less expensive even with chips and a drink. WOW! I just had the most amazing meal at this new hot-spot in the financial district "Casa Razdora!" For weeks my coworkers have been raving about this joint and now I can see why. When I arrived at 12:00pm on the dot the line was practically out the door. Within minutes I was belly up to the counter and ordering this soon to be delicious dish "Pasta Al Pesce". Now my mother is a good cook, my wife... a great cook, they're both Italian and I don't think they ever cooked a dish this delicious...EVER. Sorry Ma! The best part was it only cost me $8.50! All these years working in town, I've been wanting to try this place. Got there and no clue what to get since they have an extensive option of sauces. Everything sounded amazing. Not wanting to drive the patient man taking my order crazy, I went for the day's special, Pasta Al Pesce. The only thing I regret is not able to have it for my late lunch, since work took over me. I bought it home to my man. He polished it off and I finished what's left of it, the last 5 pieces of pasta. Omg, it was so delish and homemade pasta made it even more tasty. Great new lunch spot in the Financial District. Food is authentic Italian, not like the other local places who claim to be and fail like Viga, Pavia and the others in downtown area. I called at 10 AM and they were able to accommodate for a noon delivery--and when they said noon they meant it. They were here RIGHT on time! And the food....boy was it amazing. We had the chicken alfredo (holy cow it's the best I've ever had), penne (average), chicken parm (amaaaazing), and salad. All of the ingredients were fresh, the foccacia bread also so perfectly fell apart. I would highly recommend all of the food here. read more

Excellent Italian food on a quiet street. Everything I've had has been delicious. In fact, now that I'm thinking over all the things I've ordered, I might go back today. The portions seem small in the to-go containers, but are very filling. Pumpkin tortellini is great if they have it, and their ragu is very flavorful (not together, though). The people who work there are happy to recommend something, especially if you know which pasta or sauce you want but aren't sure about the other component. I only wish they had more tables-- if you get there at the wrong time during the lunch rush, the line is out the door, and you are unlikely to get a seat. However, the to-go containers keep things nice and hot until you get back to your office. If you want to sit down, I recommend getting there before or after the lunch rush. Sadly, they're not open for dinner, but I've gone around 4pm and taken it home for later. They also have sandwiches. I've never had one, but my co-worker did, and he seemed to really enjoy it. Oh, and there's pizza as well, I believe. My personal favorite part of this place is listening to the staff yell in Italian (usually it's Italian, anyway)-- I've spent a lot of time in Italy and hearing that ups the ambiance for me. I always wish I could hang out and speak Italian with them, but they're so busy that I chicken out every time because I don't want to bother them. I bought a Groupon way back for Cafe Razdora not expecting much. This place turned out to be a hidden gem! Cheap food, huge quantities, and pretty amazing quality. Their noodles and sauces are homemade and you can definitely tell. Each portion can serve about 2 people easily. Their sandwiches are huge and very tasty - packed with a lot of meat and less of the fillers. The only bad thing is that they're only opened during lunch time and it can be tricky to find since it's tucked away in the Financial District. Came here with a foodie buddy of mine anticipating an amazing Italian lunch but left feeling very disappointed. After seeing their episode on Triple D and reading all the reviews we thought we'd be in for a real treat. Not sure if we mis-ordered or just caught them at a bad time but the food was just mediocre. We each ordered a slice of the spicy soppresata pizza which was very impressive in size but that was the extent of the impression it left. Maybe it had been sitting on the rack too long (we ate at around 2 pm) but the sauce was tasteless and overall just a greasy slice of pie. My buddy ordered the meatball sandwich which also had the same tasteless sauce and a row of very soft almost doughy meatballs. I had the chef daily special Rosette which was also featured on Triple D. Again, not impressed. I think it had been sitting over the warmer too long (I did get the last 5 pieces in the tray) because the pasta sheets were mushy. The overall flavor was good but couldn't get past the texture. I will be back to give this place a second chance as some of the food coming out did look delicious. Everything here seems to be extremely fresh and/or homemade. I had an antipasta salad there a while back that was pretty tasty, but the handmade pasta is the best thing in the menu. I went last Friday and ordered the seafood special with shrimp and scallops (Pasta Al Pesce) .... unreal delicious. Everything is fantastic, I like the Fattoria salad (the steak is cooked to order and amazing), but the Prosciutto di Parma sandwich has a cult following at my office. This place is good, but not stellar. The reviews set my expectations high. Perhaps I was there at peak time, so there was a bit of rush with food. It seems that sandwiches are better than pasta. I had a pasta dish with shrimp. The pasta was well cooked (some people don't like that, but I do), and the Alfredo sauce was very creamy but not heavy. The shrimp gave the impression that they were freshly defrosted and they barely warmed up even though they were in a pile of steaming hot pasta and sauce. I went on a Monday and had the lasagna lunch special. Easily the best lasagna I've ever had and that's saying a lot because I think my mom's is pretty great. The cook that took my order was really friendly and provided me with some details as to how the lasagna was prepared. The lasagna also came with a very nice focaccia. The cheese slice is everything you can want in a slice of pizza, but if you need toppings the Diavola is equally good. For some reason, Casa Razdora is never mentioned in the same conversation as the most famous pizza spots in Boston (Regina, Santarpios, Umberto's, Area Four) and I suspect that it's because it's in the financial district, and like most financial district places is closed on the weekend. If this was in the North End or a more fashionable part of Boston, I have a feeling you would be hearing about it a lot more. While the menu is overwhelming, the owner explained the menu and specials to us and made us feel very welcomed. Service is quick and food is made to order. Pasta is homemade and much better than anything you'd get in a store. The pizza is generously portioned and cooked perfectly. A "slice" looks expensive on the menu, but that's a quarter of a pie - the equivalent of 2 "normal slices." Based on what others were ordering, it doesn't look like you can go wrong here. This is my favorite restaurant in Boston! I don't say this lightly... but I really love and miss Casa Razdora. I used to go here for lunch when I worked downtown, but unfortunately don't work downtown anymore :( I wish they were open at night... I would make the trip into the city regularly for this wonderful food. I never tried their pizza, but their sandwiches, salads, piadina's and pasta are just heavenly. I have honestly considered taking a sick day from work so I can make it here during opening hours!! For the price, this place is an amazing bargain. The housemade pasta and a huge list of sauces to mix and match are way better than anything else you could get for the same price elsewhere. If you're heading there for the lunch rush, don't count on eating there. But if you work nearby, take your food back to your desk (doesn't everybody eat at their desk?). The only reason I don't give the place 5 stars is that it's not the best pasta (for example, the gnocchi are a bit too dense), but you're unlikely to find anything this good for south of $15. It's certainly better than any food I've had in the North End. I like to reserve my 5 star reviews for places that are truly spectacular. I haven't tried a sandwich yet (still working my way through the pastas and sauces), but they look awesome and gigantic to boot. I called them and asked if they would deliver to Cambridgeport. They said $50 minimum. I said I'd call back with the order, then spent a decent amount of time figuring out an order for 20 people. Then I called back and they said they only deliver to the Financial District, with a minimum $50 order. Don't like to have my time wasted like that; caused lunch at an important event to be delayed, making many people grumpy. There was a language barrier, but this is more of a logic barrier; why mention a $50 minimum when you know the person on the other end of the line is in a place you don't service? read more

Small, great quick service, and they put out great food. Got a pollo pesto on their house made flat bread. Very impressed that without any condiments (besides the pesto obviously) that this was a stellar sandwich. I got the spinach and cheese ravioli with arrabiata sauce. For $8.50 I got a generous portion of food plus tasty bread on the side. I've had meals in the North End that were two or three times the price that were not as fresh and delicious as my lunch from Casa Razdora. I'm so lucky it's literally five steps from my office. What can I say, my prayers have been answered! No longer do I have to walk all the way to the north end to get a good prosciutto sandwhich...the north end came to me and my post office square office. Went here for the first (and second) time last week and will definitely be putting it into the rotation of lunch destinations. It came highly recommended and even though we went early to try and avoid the big noontime rush we ended up waiting about 7-8 minutes at 11:30. It was definitely worth the wait for this delicious hand-made sandwich. It's so much bigger and more filling than panera and the has-been sebastians. The meat was sliced perfectly and the tomatoes were fresh and juicy. The mozzarella was cold, fresh and tasty. One of these day's i'll have to try the pasta that my coworker raved about (gnocchi with walnuts). Only downside was the wait (second time took 6-7 minutes) but the food is soooo worth it. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Having lived in Italy for 15 years I can be very picky with Italian food, but this place leaves me no opportunity to complain. The food is delicious, you have many options (including 4 to 5 daily specials that change every day of the week) and the service is quick and friendly. I have tried the bresaola sand which on their delicious focaccia and that has to be my favorite sand which downtown. It is a very lean beef cold cut with roasted red peppers, lemon and capers. I tried two of their pasta- the butternut squash ravioli with Gorgonzola (blue cheese) and walnuts which was amazing as well as spaghetti puttsanesca. The pasta in all of the dishes is homemade and they have about 15 different choices of sauce. The price is incredibly fair (about $9) and would easily go for the twice the price in North End and be nowhere near as good. All of the staff comes from Italy and Giancarlo, one of the owners is very friendly and willing to make many suggestions. A true gem and a must try destination for lunch or takeout for dinner in downtown Boston. read more
