Another lovely dinner with the ENTIRE family. We came on Mother's Day for dinner and sat in a quiet off-shoot room. They had a special menu with loads of appetizers and of course, breads! I still love the fried calamari the best!! I had the giant shrimp oreganata over linguine. It was fine. The seafood ravioli (shrimp and crab) looked really good. After dinner there was an assortment of little Italian desserts. The plate was empty so everyone must've been happy. Again, super-Old Skool, great service.

Went here for a pre-Mothers Day brunch. Place is very old school, with the walls covered in pics of Sinatra, Marilyn, and various characters in Scorsese and Coppola films. My chicken francese was okay -- a bit too salty but passable. The restaurant was hosting two separate functions, with our table very close to one which featured a DJ, so every tine the doors opened we caught a blast of loud music. This happened repeatedly throughout our meal. I did see other seating areas and am unclear as to why we were placed so close to the loud function. That said, the men's room does feature a flatscreen just above the urinal (see pic) so I was able to watch the Yankees getting crushed as I did my business.

We had my son's baptism here 8 years ago and also had his first communion reception here this week! Service was great and food was delicious. You cannot listen to all the town rumors all the time. Support your local businesses! i am glad i did. The restaurant has been in town for many years. Edwin was great! Tommy will work with you on the menu.

This place my aunt picked to celebrate my other aunts birthday for a luncheon. Driving up the taconic parkway to get here was magical such beautiful fall foilage so i knew it was going to be a good day! I have been to Casa Rina numerous times each one for different family occassions for as long as i can remember. So coming here for something casual was nice. Plenty of options for family style. Fried calamari, eggplant were just some of my favorites. i loved the twin pork chops and the risotto the pumpkin pie martini was strong

Thank you, Nikita! My husband and I worked at a couple of Michelin star restaurants when NOVELLE…read moreCUISINE was all the rage. It was an exercise and torture. I'm sure you've never heard of him because you're too young, but we worked for JAQUES MAXIMUM. A little Napoleon that could get the same results even better results without screaming constantly! Nothing like being the only woman in the kitchen and having a bunch of Frenchman, screaming obscene words at you in both English and French. Why I tolerated that I still don't know I really wanted to learn. I was on the line with Alfred Portale, and was his commis. He opened his extremely successful restaurant after Jacque decided he had had enough and went back to France. He came every two weeks straight from the airport and started screaming before he even saw anyone down the long hallway. I'm truly not kidding. Alfred warned me don't look the CHEF in the eye. I think that's the first thing he ever said to me. Then the Anita Hill hearings happens and the backlash was incredible. They would sexually harass me every day and then ask me was I going to sue them? I'm not a violent person, but I felt like taking a kitchen knife and never mind. This was my first job in a good Kitchen and the manager had cocaine running out of his nose when he was telling me that I was only worth three dollars an hour. I didn't go to some fantasy school. I went to the school of hard knocks. My husband and I spoke to Mark a very nice guy, at least to us. Most people don't want to get any feedback and that's a big mistake. We gave him. Our feedback thanked him and left it at that he thanked us as well. We really were restaurant consultants. It's so easy to see what's wrong in the kitchen and what's dangerous in the kitchen at first glance and then when you dig deeper, oh my gosh, it's a wonder we even eat out anymore. If people saw what went on behind the scenes, they would never ever eat out, but we know ROOT 2 RISE is not we repeat not like that. You also sell some great crackers. We can't find anywhere else. We kept the box it is called BETTER BUCKWHEAT. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND NOT TERRIBLY OVERPRICED. I think someone might be making mistake when stalking the shelves for crackers and other snacks. Two wonderful ladies were sitting right in front of where the snacks are and when they started looking, we found a few items that are not vegan at all. We don't know how to send this privately, otherwise we would. Phone is terribly compromised. We love your Restaurant and wanted to succeed more than you can believe. We both have been vegan since 1996. We were both vegetarians at about age 11. We really appreciate your great work. Sorry we are terrible at technology and also the phone. She ain't so great.

Smells and tastes like a pile of gym clothes. But that samosa bowl and soup? Incredible and cannot wait to get it again. The beet burger is also pretty good, especially with the spicy aioli, but nothing beats the latter dishes. Trying the tofu-bean wrap next time, too. 5 stars!!!!
