    Halibut Kebob
    Angela G.

I wish half stars were allowed because my actual rating is 4.5 stars. I ordered the Beef Souvlaki Sandwich and my SO ordered the Halibut Kebab Platter. The Beef Souvlaki was absolutely delicious. At first I was concerned if I ordered enough but it was the perfect amount of food for me. I shared two pieces to my SO because I felt sorry that he didn't receive enough fish (more on this later). Even though I chose to share, I was still content and satisfactorily satiated. This goes to show that mine was packed with a good amount of meat. All the food was fresh, tender, and flavorful. The pita was perfect. The tzatziki sauce was a nice creaminess and tasty on my Beef Souvlaki. My SO was happy with his meal overall minus that since it was a platter order, there should have been at least one more skewer of halibut. What he received was inadequate for an adult male. I was the first person to open the bag and thought this even before his comment. I hope that the restaurant will make adjustments based on our reviews. We ordered our meals as takeout during a time when most people have already completed their dinner (a little after 9 pm). There were a few groups still dining so the noise level wasn't bad. Based on the service we received, which was friendly and kind- a member of their staff even walked the bag out to us. Based also on the quality of food we enjoyed minus the halibut quantity issue, we'd still recommend this eatery to anyone and will return again.

    Moussaka

Always fresh and delicious ingredients that make the meals great. The Greek salad, spanakopita and moussaka are a must try. The gyro and beef on a stick are also very tasty. Kind waiters and nice atmosphere.

Found this place on yelp while exploring a new town. Gyro & Hummus was a 10! Nice service, too. Super casual vibe.

Im not sure whats happened to this place as we went at least once a month for the last year but they have gone down hill severely. This was $19, 5 1/2 shrimp one piece of pita and barely any lettuce...times are tough but, really?

The parking was fairly easy to find, lots of street spots. We had made a reservation a few days prior without any issues. There is no service in the restaurant for AT&T users so just be aware of that. I had to use the wifi for work for a few mins and it was nice enough for the staff to share their wifi password. Ambiance was nice, classy, and dim lit. Service was ok I would say..i think the place is very focused on wine, which we did not order, so no one really paid attention to fill our water and we had empty water glasses for most of our dinner. The food was pretty decent, we always get potatas bravas at any Spanish tapas place and this was pretty standard. The menu was not too large but had a decent selection. The price though I thought was on the pricier side for the amount of food we got, even considering that it's Spanish tapas.

We Started off with drinks and tapas. The drinks packed a nice punch and came out quickly. The tapas were potatoes bravada which consisted of small potatoes cut in squares and fried up with a bravada sauce which went perfectly on top with the crunchy outside and creamy inside of the potato. Next we tried the cod fish fritters which weren't my fave but for people that enjoy cod fish they were good. Crispy outside with cod fish and potato filling. Lastly for tapas we had the broccolini which was flash fried and super crispy almost making it hard to eat but the taste was very good. For main course we had paella for two and the steak and all shared. The paella takes awhile and we were told that so we enjoyed another round of drinks. When the paella came out it was the star of the table. The rice was cooked perfectly aldente and the seasoning and seafood was right on target. The steak was cooked medium and could melt in your mouth it was super tender and the sauce provided was amazing. For dessert we had chocolate mousse and the almond torte and the owner sent over the rest of the desserts for us to try. My fave was the mousse it was made with dark chocolate and had an amazing texture. The next dessert was the crème brulee which was extremely good the crunch on top was perfectly and the pudding itself was light and creamy. The almond torte was a bit dry but the homemade chocolate ice cream helped immensely as it was amazing and paired great with the torte. The cheesecake was our last try and it was very good dense and low sugar but the strawberries and homemade vanilla made it a great cake too Service was amazing very attentive They do take credit card and I would recommend reservations

Sad to say, after being loyal customers, this place turned us off tonight permanently. I placed a large anniversary dinner order by phone, including tahdig ($12). During the call, I specifically asked if the rice came with tomato and onion and was told no it comes with the tahdig that I ordered. So yes it comes with the order. I was also asked whether I wanted the gheymeh on top or on the side of the tahdig. I chose on the side. When I got home, the order didn't match what was discussed: The tahdig wasn't traditional rice tahdig like me or my wife have had countless times. It was more like this brownish, sheet-like, crumble with a few flecks of rice on the crumble, but not crispy. Not Persian tahdig. The gheymeh was missing entirely, despite being discussed on the call. The tomato and onion that I was told were included were not there. The fesenjan had only a few pieces of chicken. The ghormeh sabzi was okay, but pretty underwhelming in flavor. I called politely to clarify about the missing tahdig (for next time) and was told someone would call me back. No one did. When I called again an hour later, the same person who took my original order responded in a dismissive and accusatory tone, unilaterally escalating her tone and voice immediately, almost angrily accusing me of daring to call, and told me that the tahdig does not come with gheymeh, and tomato and onion aren't included either. (This is the opposite of what I was told when ordering). She repeatedly interrupted me, talking over me, instead of listening or trying to resolve the issue. We've been coming here since moving from Southern California a few years ago, whenever we felt homesick and wanted some Persian food. The food has always been....OK....nothing like Persian restaurants in Toronto or Southern California, but we continued ordering out of nostalgia and lack of other options. However, this experience today, incorrect information, missing items, no follow-up, and then, the way the situation was handled was our final turn off. Disappointing, especially for what was meant to be a special occasion. We won't be returning, nor will our visiting Persian family or friends.

The ingredients were fresh and that dressing was lovely. It was a salad I actually enjoyed instead of regretting the entire time I glared at my coworkers who ordered real shit with envy. The hummus was also very creamy, authentic hummus with a slightly different taste than I am used to but head and shoulders above any store bought bullshit. Everyone else said good shit about their food. I tried one of GF's falafel from her platter and it was really good. My only complaint is for $24 or whatever it is, i would expect more than a few falafel balls and one side. Kinda a rip off. But everything tasted really, really good.

My Dad was chomping at the fucking.bit to hear some jazz tonight and as a result, we found out about this place. One of my favorite things about visiting nOLA is the jazz and I almost feel like it's the twilight zone that i can have the live Jazz experience in my home town. Not only that, but everything about our experience, start to finish, was amazing. They enticed us with the live jazz outside..As all of their tables were taken up, our initial strategy was to sit at the bar and hopefully be able to hear the music from inside. Not only did they have a whole band INSIDE the bar playing for those patrons, but we were given the choice of them literally building us a table outside. You can't really go wrong with either choice but due to the absolutely perfect weather outside and my mother's panic phobia about covid, we elected to sit outside. They straight up brought a table and four chairs outside for us to enjoy the band playing outside. The temperate fall air and lively Jazz is an ambiance that is few and far between. We had initially planned on just ordering drinks but were selling what we were buying and dropped a few food menus and had us eating out of their hand. They legit had MOZARELLA FRIED ZUCCHINI B LOSSOMS, some delicious vegetarian ravioli, arancini, and honestly whether you're into steak or farro and kale salad, they can push your.buttons, Both of my parents ordered a spring-roll-like appetizer, one with salmon and one with veggies (extra brownie points for the vegetarian option). My parents some how missed the fact that they were ordering from the appetizer menu and were disappointed in the portion size but absolutely adored the dish. . Even though I talk up and down for about 99% of the time about the fact that I'm "on a diet now" I'm actually full of shit when it comes down to the wire and I absolutely could not resist ordering their fried mozzarella zucchini blossoms which were enveloped in a delicate but delicious outer crust with creamy cheese and zucchini blososms. They were served with an orgasmic tomato sauce with a little touch of pesto. The food was the perfect complement to the musi. They have an interesting cocktail menu as well. I couldn't resist ordering their Frenesi with tequila, lemon juice, cinnamon syrup, apple bitters, hard cider. This was served in a cocktail glass with little floating (what I'm assuming is cinnamon fits that almost looked to be sparkles. It was such a beautiful drink and had such a unique flavor. GF initially ordered the All That Jazz with rye, calvados, Demerara syrup, peychaud's bitters,, ango bitters, and up in smoke however we were informed that they did not have all ingredients to make this drink. She went with her second choice, the Jam Session with bourbon, lemon, stone fruit syrup, peychaud's orange peel, Brandie's cherry. I tried this and as a strong bourbon drink, wasn't my immature palate's favorite but I appreciated the combo of bourbon and fruit flavor. Our server was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was as excellent as it could possibly be. My Mom was literally obsessed with him and couldn't stop commenting on how well he was taking care of us. Huge shout out to that man right there. I'm so excited that this place exists and GF and I have already decided to keep the local taxi on speed dial for further visits to this place. PS-sorry if this is filled with typos but I was literally too lazy to wear glasses while writing this so I am just typing and hoping for the best.

One had eaten and taken out from here before and liked it, so we called, didn't need a reservation, off we went. At about 5:15, give or take, we were the first patrons there. It's a lovely large space, warmly decorated with tables and some banquettes. We chose a 4-top kind of right in the center! Comfy chairs, btw. The menu isn't strictly Greek or Lebanese or Turkish, kind of a combo of good choices from those cuisines. We started with an appetizer called Tinos Artichoke. Very interesting, served with small warm fresh wedges of pita plus a cup of deliciously seasoned pita chips. It's a dip of mashed artichokes with Greek yogurt, sun dried tomatoes, parsley, garlic, feta. S tasty! It's a great portion to share among several people. My friends each ordered the chicken soup with vegetables for appetizers. Quite a nice sized bowl for the price; I love avgolemono, if that's what it was (I didn't taste it), just didn't feel like having soup. They both liked it very much and then they were pretty full! I ordered two appetizers for my meal - Symi Shrimp and Grilled Halloumi. Excellent choices, and they worked really well together as a meal! The 2 slabs of perfectly cooked halloumi are served on a bed of romaine lettuce and some threads of carrot. The shrimp are small, very lightly breaded and deliciously seasoned; menu says garlic, lemon, but they were reddish so I suspect maybe paprika as well or cayenne + paprika (not hot but not bland), shredded feta sprinkled liberally on top. I'm a big eater, but after the appetizer I wasn't able to finish my meal; today I reheated in the toaster oven for a lunch treat! One friend had just the Symi shrimp as her meal; the soup had filled her up and she also took some home. Our other friend had the chicken shish. This came as a really well-balanced plate, with plenty of cubes of chicken, rice, and veggies. We ALL had to-go bags! Appetizer portions, just based on the appetizers we were served, are ample for sharing. Didn't stay for dessert, as I had a train to catch back into the City. When I'm out in Bergen County again, I'll think about coming back. If you live in the area, GO, It's very good and not exorbitantly priced.

Or, a mix of grilled octopus, grilled calamari and a salad. Everything is very flavorful and goes great with the pita bread. Our calamari was a little chewy this last visit, which surprised me. It's never like that. Octopus is always tender and comes with tasty charred onions, peppers, caperberries. Other delicious dishes here - chicken shish, the steak, gyro, grilled shrimp, lamb shish. Lately they've been decorating tables with fresh flowers - nice touch and complements the candles.

Mentor's kicked things off mainly because it was the first place we haven't eaten at in the first response we received. The inside is pretty nice, I like their decor. It is certainly unique and visually pleasing although I'm not sure how it relates to Italian food. The menu is on ipads which is interesting. I ordered one of their cocktails, some play on words with kiwi in it. It was a vodka drink with...kiwi flavor. It was pretty good, it was on the sweeter side which I tend to like. I got a lil tipsy but considering the fact that I didn't eat that much that day and haven't consumed alcohol in a month I would hazard to guess that it wasn't as strong as it could have been. There were two vegetarian options on the entree list. One couscous thing which could have been interesting but I didn't come to an Italian restaurant to eat couscous. I went with the other one: cacio e pepe. GF ordered "the salmon". They do the whole cook-that-shit-in-a-roll-of-cheese business for the cacio e pepe which provided some nice theater. This was INCREDIBLE. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the flavors were spectacular but I imagine it is probably hard to fuck up cheese, butter, and pepper. GF says salmon "was ok but sauce too buttery" at the time she said "it was just mediocre". She didn't finish it. They did dabble in the lost art of table bread with some flatbread triangles and a very tasty pepper or something dip. This was really good, I would buy that dip in the store. Our server was nice but the service could have been better. I was never asked if I wanted another drink after I finished and we sorta had to flag him down for shit. It came out on a sizzling skillet and it tasted as good as it looked. It was also so big that I took half of it home for lunch and if possible, it tasted even better the next day. I was very pleased. The fries were also exceptional and even though the serving was big, I ate them all. I couldn't help myself! Since I took half of my steak home, I decided there was room for dessert and the chocolate mousse didn't disappoint. The food was so good and the service was so warm and friendly, I definitely want to go back to Stone House Grill. If you're nearby, stop in for a meal. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Very loud. No noise barriers. They said they couldn't give me fries instead of mashed potatoes,…read moreand then she decided she could, and there was about ten fries. My chicken cutlet was not that good.Loaded with sauce hardly any meat. We went for lunch and I did not see anything special about this restaurant. And when it came to paying, they charge over three percent to use your credit card. And when I asked about it, she said every one does that, and I said, no, they don't. I deducted the three percent from the tip which I left in cash. I eat out at least 4 nights a week. And none of the restaurants I go to charge to use your credit card and I don't go to the ones that do. I won't be going back.
