I saw a little piece on this place on Westchester TV. Went in on Friday night, very friendly and attentive staff. Had the house margarita on the rocks, which had Jalepeno in it, very tasty. Food is so fresh and yummy. It's worth every penny for quality ingredients, which seems difficult to find nowadays.

First time getting food there for pickup. The online ordering system works well. My order was to be picked up at 6:30. Got text messages confirming my order and then I got a text message at 6:04 that my order was ready to be picked up. Unfortunately, I live about 20 minutes away. By the time I got to the restaurant, the food had been out over 20 minutes so by the time I got home, it had been out 45 minutes and was not hot anymore. Next the food. I ordered a steak burrito. It was woefully under seasoned. It was super bland and had no Mexican type taste at all and actually no taste of any type. I couldn't even taste the skirt steak that was in it. Usually I would expect there to be cilantro in it but if there was any, I couldn't tell. Even salt and pepper would have helped this but there was none to found. My wife ordered a cheese quesadilla. She said it was ok. I didn't taste it so I can't say how it really was. I'm not a very spicy food fan but I am also not a fan of tasteless food either. read more

First, I am vegan and my husband is not. He's been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time so we popped in on a Saturday night. The ambiance is nice, great lighting and lovely waiters. I started with a skinny margarita which tasted fresh, strong and balanced. My husband had the esquite and carnitas tacos which he LOVED and is not easily impressed when we go out. I tried the guacamole & house made chips and added farm fresh crudités. I'm picky when it comes to guac and thought it was very flavorful, probably one of the best I've had. We loved the house-made chips that went with it, they were literally perfect. The crudités were also delicious and most definitely cut fresh right there. I also ordered rice and beans with a side of corn tortillas which were also clearly house-made. The reason that it's 4 stars and not 5 is because some of the prices just don't make sense to me. $24 for a tostada seems absolutely crazy to me. Some menu items feel about $2-4 overpriced. I understand food is being locally sourced and items are made in house but the prices would actually stop us from coming here often. read more

My wife and I tried this place tonight. Sticker shock to see chips and salsa at $8.00. They were only fair. 3 tiny Chicken tacos with only chicken and onions $17. Mole chicken enchilada wasn't bad. Wouldn't recommend this place. Staff was nice enough though. read more

I had the pleasure of discovering the tacos from Mariachi Mexico at the farmer's market years ago, then discovered that their restuarant was in the same town as my job, so I've enjoyed many meals here! I don't believe this establishment advertises as a farm to table, but you can find the chef shopping for fresh seasonal ingredients at my local farmers market and see posts of their own garden selections on their instagram (Mariachi_Mexak). Chef really puts a lot of care into the quality and freshness of her dishes & is a magician at making vegetables crave worthy. I regularly eat carnitas tacos there and their plain yellow rice is the best I have ever had, very savory and you can get it with beans too of course! Their taquitas/flautas are another favorite of mine and I always look forward to trying whatever seasonal veggie tostado, veggie side dish or quesadilla is being featured. Chips and salsa are housemade and not outsourced which I absolutely love, nothing like some fresh homemade chips and salsa! Mariachi Mexico has an avante garde approach to creating dishes inspired by their own authentic family dishes. The chef is creative and always trying and offering new things resulting in an exciting menu that has something for everyone. They have spicy offerings and lighter ones, can accomodate a variety of palates with both vegan and omnivore options and since most Latin American dishes are naturally gluten free, you'll find plenty of GF options there! I generally do not like spicy food, but this is one of the few places where I make an exception because the flavor profile is amazing and addicting to me! I can't ignore my distraction by the review Yelp has put on my side bar that keeps popping out at me as I've been typing this and cannot help but to address it. To assume a place is "TexMex" or not "Authentic" simply because it doesn't suit your taste (which that in and of itself is fine, we all have different taste preferences) is a completely ignorant & unfair statement. Mexico is an very large country & I believe it wiser to assume that across the country flavors and influences vary. As I said above, this establishment offers both spicy and lighter dishes and the ladies have always been more than generous with their time in explaining which dishes I'd like most based on the information I give them on my preferences. The food is incredible. This restaurant is 30 minutes away from us but we take a special trip to go here because it is the best Mexican food. We usually get the guacamole and homemade chips, the corn (usually two orders because it gets fought over at the table) the chicken tacos and the enchiladas. Best place ever! I'm Mexican and I'm always searching for the best Mexican food in NY. If you want real Mexican flavors, this is the place to go. The food is a perfect balance of creative cuisine keeping true to the roots of traditional Mexican food. Joana makes magic with all the fresh ingredients from the farmers market. The carnitas here are the only place in the US that really makes them how I know them to be in Mexico so go for a couple of tacos or upgrade it to a quesadilla, pure heaven! The esquite frito reminds me of the food vendors in traditional Mexican fairs that sell little cups of "esquite preparado" I always have good memories when I eat them. My wife and I did not have a good experience here tonight. My wife did not like the black bean soup that she ordered.... she only ate a few spoonfuls because she did not like how it tasted. The waiter asked if she wanted something else from the menu, to which my wife politely declined. When the bill came we noticed the $8 soup was still on it. We questioned why they would charge us for something that we told them did not taste very good. The waiter asked if we wanted to speak with the owner/chef. To which we said, Yes. The owner/chef came out and we told her the situation .... and she immediately got defensive. She said we were given the option to order something else .... to which my wife replied that she didn't want anything else .... that we just wanted the $8 soup taken off the bill. The owner/chef refused, again stating we could have ordered something else. To which I finally said, ok, let my wife order something else. The owner/chef then replied ..... that offer has now Expired. Both our sons have worked as waiters and both had the same response to this situation: you do not want to lose a customer and future business over an $8 soup. I am a business owner, and when there is a customer complaint I've tried to rectify it even if it ends up costing me some $$. When my wife told the owner/chef we would not write a favorable review, she said ..... go ahead. Hence ...... this review. read more

The kids seem to love this place but my wife and I can't see why. It's not bad but it's not great. I guess because they serve mostly people with extreme allergies. I say this because most my plates lacked flavor. I got the quesadillas and I feel the tortilla didn't compliment my quesadilla. The guacamole was fresh but bland. The margaritas were actually really good and the chips and salsa were good aswell. However the service slacked here. Maybe bc they servers don't write down the orders. They forgot 2 of my side orders but it was no big deal bc we ordered too much food anyways. We went to this authentic mexican resturant for dinner last night. This is what you want mexican cuisine to taste like. We ordered Tortilla Soup, Shrimp Tacos and Tacos Carnitas. All dishes were prepared perfectly and care was obviously taken in the presentation of the food which was delicious. For dessert we tried the Homemade Cherry ice cream topped with bits of granola, sunflower seeds and other wonderful flavors. Highly recommend this resturant for the quality of the food and service. We eat in Armonk somewhat often, cute town with some good restaurants. Tried Mariachi last night and it was a mixed bag but pulled the 2 star review because of the completely disinterested service. Ordered a guac app and it came out as basically mashed avocado. No tomato. No onion. No jalepeno. No spice. Yawn. I tried for 10 minutes to signal 1 of the 2 outside servers. Small place. They didn't come by or look over toward us once. Went inside and ask for salt and Tabasco. Sad substitute but at least it gave it some taste. I mentioned late that the guac needed some flavor to the server and he told us that some people like it very basic like that. He should have said "I'll pass your comments on to the chef". Nope. Meanwhile, the camarones main courses were both pretty good. When I wanted a check, the server was standing about 10' away texting on his phone for literally 10 minutes while I'm trying to get his attention. Really? Smartphone while working as a food server? And this place is not cheap. Armonk is an expensive town. The dishes were $16 guac, $24 main courses + a couple of beers total $118 with tip. They can't and won't print a receipt. All on iPad so it's either give them my email for reciept/spam or no receipt. Plus the guy stands there while I select 15%, 20% etc... Never again! read more

I've been living in Northern Westchester for nearly 30 years and this is hands down the best Mexican restaurant I've been to. It is gourmet Mexican by a formally trained chef who is not afraid to be creative and expand the boundaries of traditional Mexican. Do not expect fajitas or other Tex-Mex dishes, this cooking is way above that. And the staff are among the nicest you will ever meet. Also, the mixologist is first rate. Ordered a burrito pollo for takeout which comes with chips and salsa. Burrito was fresh and authentic. Salsa had a nice kick and the chips were crisp. But unfortunately, the portion size was incredibly lacking. The burrito was less than half the size of a burrito one would get at chipotle (or anywhere else for that matter) and there were 4, yes 4, chips that came with the meal. Mind you, this was all for $12. Overall, although fresh and tasty, if you are looking for an expensive and unfilling meal then look no further to Mariachi. read more

First off the food was very good! Fresh and delicious! We arrived for an early and quick dinner. It was just me & my 2 kids. The place is very small inside but it was ok because no one else was there yet. They don't give you chips to pick on while you wait for your dinner. That seemed odd. After our meals came did we then ask for some chips & guac. Very good and fresh also. We ordered a quesadilla for an app and two burritos, and soft tacos. There were no sides with the burritos. Again, a little strange. I just assumed it came with rice or beans. Silly me! Then came the bill. $97 for me and 2 kids! A good choice for lunch in expensive Armonk. Outdoor eating area in prime Armonk location gives it an extra star but small portion sizes and a small menu keep it from a perfect score. The lunch special comes in around $14 per person, for a good Mexican meal including chips and salsa and the tip. As I said the portion is roughly half the size of Chipotle but that's too much food and you're in Armonk so the prices are relative. read more
