Woah. So good! Not your typical Mexican restaurant (and I love Mexican food). I ordered the Chile Relleno because our server, Lulu, suggested it. Absolutely delicious. Came with a broth/gravy packed with flavor. The cheese inside had great texture and the pepper gave it a nice richness. Wasn't spicy, just a nice pepper flavor. Oh and... the homemade corn tortillas to dip in the broth were chewy and so dang good. Service was fast and presentation lovely. If you haven't been here, you're missing out. We ordered the Enchiladas Suizas, but were served regular enchiladas instead. We didn't mention it because mistakes happen, but if you're specifically trying to avoid corn tortillas, the difference matters. I ordered the smothered burrito. The fries were cold and had a strange chemical aftertaste. I also don't like sour cream, crema, cottage cheese, or anything similar, so before ordering I specifically asked whether the red cream sauce was made with heavy cream or crema. I was told it was heavy cream, but after one bite it tasted distinctly sour to me. The service itself was pleasant, and we never complained about the incorrect order. That said, when a customer takes only one bite of their meal and declines a to-go box, it seems reasonable for someone to ask if everything was okay. read more

There's is virtually nothing in Leeds open after 6pm except this restaurant. So, I was not expecting much. And lemme tell ya, my expectations were skyrocketed out of the water. It's a pretty casual indoor setting, with a very cute outdoor patio that is ideal in cooler months. I was here in the height of summer so I opted for an indoor table. It was quite busy, which I assumed was simply because it's the only option within 20 mins in either direction. However, when I took my first bite of the complimentary chips and salsa, I realized this was the real deal. I practically licked the container of salsa clean. I also ordered a Watermelon refresher, and I thought for sure, this is where I'll be disappointed. A margarita-style drink in the middle of nowhere will surely have some gross commercial sour mix thrown in there! How wrong I was. It was a perfectly sweet and salty delight, and actually tasted like watermelon, which is very much unlike many watermelon margaritas out there. Finally, the shrimp empanadas. At this point, I was feeling optimistic. I mean, the server said they were good, but isn't he obligated to do that? Well, he ain't lying. They were fire -- literally, came out piping hot, had spicy jalapeño salsa, and tasted like a blaze of glory. People, if you are driving through Leeds, be sure to try this place. The chips and salsa appetizer also had no flavor. Margaritas were about 15$ a glass. Bottled beer was 5$. I spent around 30$ on one plate. It seemed like a lot of money for one burrito. Most excellent Mexican food! My husband and I were visiting from California (where Mexican food truly is some of the best!), and we were so impressed with the quality and flavor of this food. We were headed for a hike in Zion and passed this small shopping strip in Leeds and looked this place up on Yelp. The ratings were great so how could we pass it up? We opted for seats inside since it was hot out. We ordered the elote corn, the pork with the pepita seeds and a side order of black beans. The elite corn toppings were great, but the corn was a little dry - maybe day old? The 2 highlights of the meal were the fresh (and thick) corn tortillas and the black beans - just the right amount of spice - I just wish it had been a larger portion of beans - we practically liked the bowl. We really enjoy this place! Located in Leeds, about 20 min from St. George. The food is absolutely outstanding. Our fav dishes are the shrimp ceviche (cooked shrimp) and today we had the chile relleno, which we shared. They serve the relleno with hand-made corn tortillas, and my husband asked for more. The service is friendly, funny, and gracious. We had a couple of original coca-colas in glass bottles, imported from Mexico. Last time we had the flan for dessert. The ambiance is lively, painted with beautiful colors, and decorated with plants and humorous signs. The two bathrooms are attractive and clean. There is even an outside patio, with a little stage, that looks like it could be used for events. As you can tell from the photos, before (and after) we enjoyed ourselves. We would drive from St. George at the drop of a hat to eat here. read more

This place is a hidden gem! You wouldn't expect it to be the experience that it is from looking at the facade. The girls and I started with some nachos and a few random drinks from their delicious drink menu. The nachos are covered in a sauce that I forget what it's called and sprinkled with savory brisket. I enjoyed (sparingly) the crema sauce that we got on the side. It's like a watery sour cream. After our app and drinks we all ordered a different drink and again were very impressed by the presentation of every drink! They were all mixed well and each had its own personality and decoration. This review is long over-due. Tucked away just off of the I-15 freeway in Leeds, Utah is a charming and unassuming restaurant with some of the best Mexican cuisine you will ever enjoy. The staff is welcoming and the decor is bright and cheerful. The menu is an unexpected take on original Mexican cuisine with a refined elevation while there are also wonderfully new dishes adding to the zeitgeist of Mexican cuisine by a skilled chef. There is a rich, yet fresh taste to the menu items. We have been a number of times since being introduced to Casa Tequilana by a local family member. We have tried many of the dishes and each one only adds to the happiness we experience with each visit. Between me an my family members, we have covered almost the entire menu by now and I have tasted each item. I am having a hard time coming up with a favorite. The Divorciado Burrito, Juan Burger, Jefe Burrito, Birria de la Abuela, Sopa Azteca, and now the Brisket Tacos and Spaghetti Verde. Hands-down 5 stars. We wanted to try this restaurant for months. It was everything we wanted--delicious food and great service. We started with sodas and the three amigos appetizer--thick tortilla chips with two levels O's salsa spiciness, black beans and awesome guacamole with pico. For entrees we ordered enchiladas suizas (grilled vegetables/cheese/shredded chicken/creamy sauce minus red onions and cilantro) with flavorful rice, brisket street tacos with rice and black beans, and chicken flautas with sour cream and shredded lettuce. This is a classic story of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Or, in this case, a just-off-the-highway-on-an-overlooked-exit restaurant. This is a gem in the middle of the not-much-there part of Utah north of St. George. We stopped in to try the mole, and it was fantastic! It's mole rojo, and it is such a complex flavor that you'll just have to try it. And the Three Amigos appetizer was great, too. It could have practically been its own meal for me! read more

I want to keep this place secret, but that wouldn't be true to Yelp or to myself as a foodie. This is one of the nicest, yummiest, and definitely most hidden gems we have found in a long time. The red mole was one of the best I have eaten. It was superb. The flavor was so good that I used every homemade tortilla to wipe my plate clean. Food was okay ( which is why I gave it a 2 instead of 1 star review), but service was terrible. We were seated, but not attended to, and it took a long time to take our food order. This may have been because another larger party ( of maybe 5 people) came in several minutes after us, but were being waited on and got to place their food order before us. We had to ask 3 x for my husbands drink order. On the second time our waiter said he forgot to put the order in, even though I got my drink fairly promptly. These things happen, but he then never followed through! So the third time my husband walked up to the hostess area. It finally arrived when we were nearly finished with dinner. Plus they nickel and dime you for every item! We ordered chips and guacamole, ( no chips come automatically like most Mexican restaurants) and were charged extra for salsa! Everything was an upcharge. [ Also, I was told I couldn't have my water bottle on the table and that I had to put it on my seat since it was not a "purchased drink"] It was riduculous and petty. I dont mind paying top dollar for a good meal with excellent service, but this place is way over priced for a mediocre experience. We were disappointed, as we had read good reviews. We're always looking for good Mexican food in the area. We won't be back. read more

This was our first time trying this place we heard great thing and our high expectations were definitely meet! An actual authentic, Mexican restaurant. I had the ceviche and my husband had the Cochinta pp. 10/10 surprisingly full of flavor and I actually tasted the tequila in my margarita not something that happens often here in Utah. The vibe is traditional and casual. A small little hidden restaurant in Leeds. Turns out to be one of my favorite place now to go eat. Plus the service was great! This place is incredible. I was told to expect something unique. It didn't disappoint. Great food. Four of us went and tried many dishes. Chips were Superb and the three amigos has chips with three dips: thin refried bean sauce with nice spices and cojita cheese, great house made quacamole, and house made salsa. Shrimp empanadas have fresh chopped shrimp with spices and cheese in a deep fried light corn empanada shell. Comes with a green jalapeño sauce that is great for some spice. Tomato bisque was great with Mexican spice versus typical Italian spices. Smothered burrito has many choices and is a go to for those less adventurous but our favorite was the enchilada suizas with vegetable and chicken filling and a light tangy tomatillo sauce. Great rice also. Had quesa-birria which came with a lot of cheese in a flour tortilla and a side cup of birria sauce to dip in. Also came with French fries which would be weird if we didn't like carne asada fries so much and get fries a lot at Mexican joints. The birria abela was wonderful with birria cooked roast chunks in sauce with rice and house made corn tortillas. The mole rojo has mole chicken in sauce with rice and corn tortillas and is awesome. Great service with owners cooking and working there. They keep the servers on their toes and even have Noah handling the water. Enjoy. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch. Located just off the freeway in Leeds. It's in a group of businesses. This is a family ran place that is clean and inviting. Delicate wonderful smells greet you as you enter. They are practicing Covid 19 with separation and mask wearing. Menu is diverse with gems not found in this area. Most of the menu is from Baja and East coastal Mexico. This is not spicy or fast food fair. We had the Tinga Chicken with an awesome Mole. The Barrera I had was tender, tasty and delicious. This was so good. We normally don't have dessert, but decided to try the pumpkin flan. This was such a treat! A must try. The staff is friendly and gracious. If your looking for a different Mexican place this is it. Can't wait to try more of the menu on our next visit. Sorry I didn't take any pics as the food looked and smelled so good! read more
