If there is something that is not on tge menu that you like ask them if they could fix it . I am especially talking about their egg dish that is extremely hot as in spice hot. I don't eat things with any spice in it but my husband and son do . They love that dish. Some things are not available because they so many people order them in a day, such as the orchetta (possibly spelled wrong ) drink, that my husband likes very much,its a non-alcohol drink. So I was in town for work and a colleague wanted to have lunch. We ended up here after the first two options were closed and it was a Monday. Parking is plentiful in this lot, and it looks like a nice patio when the weather is nicer. Quick lunch. Our server brought out chips and salsa, didn't get to eat them but it looked fresh and chips homemade. I ordered the street tacos, Always LOVE the Al Pastor and these definitely didn't disappoint. Pineapple is in here which adds to the acidity and cuts down on the fattiness of the pork. I chose Flour (Harina) tortillas, and added some cilantro and onions to top off the meal. Just so you know, there are no sides that come with the street tacos, so if you are super hungry- you have to order a side or go with something more substantial. My colleague ordered enchiladas, they looked good. A light green creamy sauce topped them, so I thought it would be like a creamy verde or something. Anyway, this place is exactly what you are looking for when you need a fix on Mexican. I will be back, I always stay near the airport because our facility is in Mills River just a few miles away. This is a great little Mexican spot. It's located in a group of shopping center buildings, right off of 26 beside A larger Shopping area. It has a nice outdoor patio area, with umbrellas and lots of parking. Inside, there is a large bar to your left down the wall, and tables and booths spaced nicely apart. The staff is very friendly. I ordered their beefed up queso, which is now my favorite Mexican appetizer. It is queso, chorizo, tomatoes, green peppers, (I excluded the onions). It is so yummy and they bring you a ton of it, still bubbling. The menu is pretty basic Mexican, but it is very good, large portions and I have no complaints. Ordered nachos........15 minutes later no nachos, no update, and no check in to see if everything was OK.... Walked out. By far my favorite Mexican restaurant to go to. It feels just like home in a public place. My husband and I love eating here all the time. Everyone always take such good care of us. Service is always very attentive with us and our food never takes more than an hour. I ordered the burrito campechano. It was so cheesy and full of flavor. My hubby got the tacos Al pastor and trust me when I say those are the best tacos. They have the best flavor out of all of them and they are pretty filling. We liked the Vegetarian options, a number of them in the pretty large menu. We ordered our food and also expressed interest in the great desserts they seem to have on their menu. Although it was a Friday evening and it was somewhat busy, the tables were not full and no one was waiting for a table. Food doesn't taste very fresh. The sauces and salsas have good flavor, but mine came out over cooked with the queso kinda clumped up. The service was a bit iffy and very slow. I've been to places like this all over the country. This is honestly the closest I have come to authentic in a southern area. It's not as good as places right close to the border like Phoenix or Tucson...but it is pretty damn close. And for the price, you get a great meal that will be sure to fill you to the gills. The only odd thing about this place is the hours, but it's not enough to keep me from singing its praises. They are closed on Monday's, but it's a small price to pay for such a great place to eat. Delicious food at a very reasonable price! You can tell the food is made with love. I like to come here on a regular basis, especially considering it's close to my work. They have a small, but decent selection of Vegetarian dishes as well, which is nice. Totally love their refried beans as well! Surprisingly I came to Arden to find a new couch and after I checked it out I was starving. I checked my go to (Yelp obv.) and Casa Torres came up. It looked like a good possibility so I decided to check it out. As usual I asked the server for some recommendations, they sold us on a special roasted pork dish, similar to an al pastor but less pineapple type taste. It was deliciousness. The pollo ranchero was standard and so was the carne azada. The salsa bar was an unadvertised bonus, with some tasty selections. All and all, for the price it was a tasty meal with lots of flavor and great service. Btw I did buy the couch lol read more
