The staff and decor are very nice and beautiful. We had found this review on Yelp and it looked like a mom and pop place. It is blocks from the beach and has no view of the water or of anything. $$ signs are 2 yet the menu is $$$$ I'm on vacation and we are out spending money but to have a 4 $ sign restaurant with fancy decor offer such high prices was not for us yet it might be for you. We enjoyed the bar. We had 4 house margaritas and bill was over $900 Mexican Pesos. WAY too expensive! We did get a couple complimentary half shots tequila but still. This was probably the best meal we had during out stay. Great for a family (8 of us) although we had a minor wait it was well worth it. I loved both the guacamole and the Chile en Nogada (just look at the pics!). Heavy pour on the margarita was a nice touch too. Next time we're in town we will definitely be back. read more

I found this place on Yelp while my friends and I were walking around the area and decided to come and try some authentic Mexican sit down food while on vacation and boy, did we stumble into a pleasant surprise! The food here was amazing. Hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had in my life. We got the chips and guacamole for starters which they make at the table! Am I overreacting to say that was the best guacamole I've ever had in my life? I make my homemade guacamole the same way but it does not taste like this one! It also comes with a table side made salsa that was spicy and delicious. The table got ceviche as well which everyone enjoyed. For main courses, we got the fried red snapper which has a lemon pepper butter flavoring to it. The squid was cooked over a wooden fire so it had a very nice smoky flavor to it. The molcajete was steaming and looked interesting but flavor wise, it was okay compared to everything else we had. Lastly, we got the beef fajitas and my goodness, the most tender piece of steak I've ever had! Everything we ordered was so good. Drinks were strong. The servers would pour the tequila into the margaritas at the table so you know exactly how much liquor is in your drink. Service was amazing. Everyone was very nice and knew English. There were a couple birthdays while we were dining here and the birthday person got a free shot with the server and the whole restaurant turned into a very lively atmosphere. read more

Food: 5/5 all the food and drinks were very good. I started with the guac which was made in front of us which was great. Had a beef brisket that was very tasty and had a lot of flavor. The drinks were also great but on the stronger side. The Tres leches cake at the end was a lighter cake which was a great finisher. Fantastic dinner for our group at this amazing resting in the center of town. The owner Nino was very welcome and really took care of our party. They made fresh guacamole and salads right at the table. The drinks were amazing and Nino added some extra tequila in our margaritas. The main dishes were awesome. I tried the Chile releno that was his grand mothers recipe. My wife had the carnitas that was out of this world. They had a mariachi band that played live for our table for tip. We had a birthday in our party and they celebrated her with a nice piece of chocolate cake. Oh my gosh this place was absolutely amazing. It was so cute and they're very traditional. They have mariachi band going around each table singing they do charge 150 peso per table, totally optional. The free homemade salsa was incredible and you could adjust how spicy it is! Me gusta picante mucho The beautiful ambience is very romantic. It is a perfect place for travelers! We got the cilantro, melted cheese (cilantro queso fundito) WOW - muy muy bien! The Tomatina and cilantro, along with the really cheesy melted cheese and fresh homemade tortillas absolutely amazing seriously one of my favorite things on the menu!! The redfin snapper was so good very juicy served with a garlic butter ! Yum! It was more than enough for two people. It came with a side of beans, rice, veggies and tortillas. Aaron Miller came out to about $76 in total! I got a spicy margarita with a salted rim, my personal favorite go to.... And no, it wasn't too spicy. Don't get me started on the mariachi band that came to our table to sing me a happy birthday in Spanish. They called me Panchita lol - I literally held back so many tears because my grandmas birthday is this month - she passed a couple years ago she loved Mexican music and mariachi bands - she was definitely dancing up there in heaven so blessed to have his experience! 10/10 will be coming back here next time I visit! read more

Our final dinner in PV was at Casa Tradicional it was recommended by a local and it was definitely somewhere we can't wait to return to. We were quickly seated. We enjoyed guacamole and salsa made right at the table. Also we tried the Cilantro Melted Cheese to start. Our entrees were the Rib Eye Fajitas and Grilled Octupus. They bring your fajitas to the table and flame them. The grilled octopus was amazing full of flavor and tender. It's served over an array of vegetables. If you like margaritas they are delicious. And the ambiance is beautiful and relaxing. The staff was friendly. You left feeling like a part of their family. If you want authentic Mexican food this is a restaurant you need to enjoy a meal at. If i could leave half a star, I would. The venue is a tourist trap. The venue looks very tradicional and colorful. It does catch the eye for traditional and unique. Service was ok. The food was ok. We paid our bill and left an ok tip. What we felt was deserved as the paying customers. As my sister and I were walking out, a man (employee) walked outside the restaurant, demanding we leave more tip money. My sister let the man know we left tips for what we thought and felt fit for the food and the service. He demanded that we had to leave more tip beavuse we did not leave enough tip monies. My sister asked why they dont add tip to the bill since it was a big group. The man said it was illegal, which did not make sense. We were extortionate for tip monies. Because my sister and I felt cornered in, we forked out more money. That was the worst experience ever. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

The restaurant's ambiance is very charming and even a bit romantic, but the food is just okay. It is a beautiful location in the center of town and makes for a great meet-up place for dinner with friends before walking the Malecon. We just returned from Puerto Vallarta and Casa Tradicional was by far the best restaurant we tried. We were referred here by a local store owner, who had also given us a coupon for free guacamole. The first thing you notice when you get there and walk in is that it has an old school look and feeling to it. We were greeted right away and offered Margaritas which were really good with heavy pours. The menu is a mix of traditional meats and seafood. They have enchiladas, along with fajitas, mocajetes and a variety of seafood plates, one that includes a large fried snapper which the bring to your table whole. He saw of these at a nearby table and it was huge and looked delicious. I ended up going with the mixed meats mocajete which is a mix of chorizo, beef, chicken and cactus served in a mocajete bowl. It was very good, meats were all cooked perfectly. They also prepare the salsa and guacamole from scratch at your table. Definitely a place to try when your in PV. read more
