After a kids' ball game in Aurora tonight, we were looking for a new Mexican fix. I recalled a co-worker who lives in A Town telling me she likes Casa Vallarta, so off we went. For maybe the first time in my life, the hostess didn't look at the only two people standing there and ask, "How many?" Instead, she grabbed two menus and asked us where we'd like to sit. We sat on the covered patio and enjoyed a cool evening breeze. Noise from nearby Parker Road was hardly noticeable. This was a pleasant surprise. Our drink server was prompt, and soon, we had a massive margarita to flank some iced tea and waters. They do not skimp here on size or strength, as there was plenty o' tequila for a decent buzz. I had the Enchiladas Mexicana. One each of cheese (the best), chicken, and picadillo were slathered in spicy red sauce and accompanied by refritos and rice. That it doesn't come standard with a watery lettuce/tomato garnish (ugh) was huge. About half the time, I ask for no l/t, but have to scrape it off when the food arrives. That's a bummer. This was a sizable portion. The beans boast a nice mouthfeel. My rice was a bit dry, but when I tried my companion's, it was moist and delicious. Her picadillo tacos were hefty, tasty, and arrived with beans as well. At meal's end, our server, Martha--who'd been sweet, friendly, and attentive--brought us two mini-sopapillas with whipped cream and fruit. On. The House. We thanked her as heartily as we could before digging in to this unexpected treat. Any pecadillos? Yes. Prices are steep but not quite outrageous for Denver suburbia. We eclipsed $50 with tip for the items listed here and an iced tea. My meal did not come with tortillas, either. After stints in South Texas and Northern New Mexico, I just cannot grasp why many Front Range Mexican joints neither supply or even offer tortillas or sopas to accompany a meal. Pico de gallo was ok, but the house salsa was so runny that it preferred my shirt to staying on the chips. Overall, we had great service, a stiff margarita, and serviceable, but pricey food. 3.75 stars. read more

Wow! Great food, good drinks, relaxed atmosphere! We've been looking for a new Mexican place nearby since Las Hadas closed a few years ago . This is the place. The salsa is amazing, not just chopped tomatoes and they also served a tasty pico with the chips. The rice and beans were spot on, and that was the best tamale I've had in a while. Tried to go to another restaurant but they were not open yet. The sign said seat yourself so we did. In the inner dining area so the servers would see us. They were not prepared for diners yet and were doing their opening duties. We sat for a bit before the guy doing chores came over to start us with menus. Then we waited a little more for a server. A jug of water with two cups and chips and salsa with pico on the side. I made the mistake of asking how much the price of the snapper was in the huachinango dish which caused him to disappear again. Finally came back and it was $50. I'm sure it was a large size and we could have shared it but I wasn't prepared to pay that much for lunch. So I went with the lunch special of crispy Chile relleno and chicken enchilada. Came with rice and beans. He chose the Colorado burrito which is a flour tortilla with pork stew smothered in its own sauce. Rice and beans. The chips were a little hard. We put the pico into the salsa to give it more flavor and some crunch. The food came on large metal plates - be careful because they are hot. The food was average. Nothing special. The service mediocre. A single diner and a group of 6 besides us but it took a long time for us to get our food and we were there way before the others came. I haven't been here in a while so it was nice to eat here but I wouldn't be in a hurry to come back. They do have a bar attached and have Broncos game nights, karaoke nights and happy hour during the week. Parking is plenty so that is convenient. read more

A great, fun atmosphere everytime I come in. The staff are always friendly and the food always comes out on a big platter. You definitely get a lot for what you pay for and at the end of your meal you get a complimentary sopapilla that is to die for! The only thing I would say is that when I order my tacos the shells are always a little soggy and fall apart (but that is like a lot of Mexican restaurants). Overall, it's a great and friendly place to go for food and a good time! Also, wanted to add that they are doing wonderful during COVID! Yes yes yes!! I have been craving decent Mexican food and this definitely hit the spot!! It's kid friendly, there's karaoke, there's soooo many tables and the food options are absolutely ENDLESS. We were lucky and got seated instantly. Our waitress was the sweetest person ever. We new the restaurant was extremely busy, there were a few Christmas gatherings here, but she was on it!! Smiles and all!! Now food ... YES! My smothered burritos hit the spot!! The plate was MASSIVE. And I could barely eat half. Definitely worth the 12$ it was! On weekends kids eat for 4.95$ which is a dollar cheaper than during the week. I thought that was cool since most places only do discounts during the week and not on weekends. you can't leave a review on their website - they blocked that. Pick up order phoned in - 10 minutes after they said my order would be ready I asked, and was told. "It happens. They're working on it." After another 5 minutes I asked how long and she said maybe another 15 minutes, they have a new cook, they're busy, ..." I felt Tex-Mex so I went here for a good 4pm lunch. There was nothing to say about the service other than that things were handled proficiently. I sat down at a booth and ordered a chimichanga and a virgin pina cola; I was given free nachos at the start :) The wait wasn't long and here was my food on a pipin' hot plate. The design on it was admirable. However, I was here to eat, not to look at art. The food wasn't amazing but was still filling (considering that they got large areas of beans and rice. The nachos were satisfactory with some fresh salsa. The pina colada got my tongue feeling tropical, but there were some chunks of ice that sort of blocked from a good beverage experience. All of that for less than $20? Pretty neat. The place streaked in traditional Mexican colors and many ornaments. It had a bar and so much room for tables and whatnot. I even heard that the place even had a pool table around a decade ago. The place was also sufficiently clean. For a bar that advertises 300 tequilas at the door, and 200 tequilas on the menu, there is no actual tequila menu to choose from (I asked two servers). One server recommended Casamigos, which I accepted but was disappointed because I could get that anywhere. We ordered the oysters as an appetizer; they were terrible. Adding the salad salsa made them bearable. I probably should have known better than to order oysters at a Mexican restaurant, but their seafood selection seemed promising so I trusted it. I have driven by this place so many times and decided to give it a shot. Well sadly, I will probably never go back. My to-go order was slightly wrong but totally fine by me. I ordered refried beans and got regular beans instead and TOTALLY not a big deal, it's basically the same besides being smashed, but they were cold where as the rest of the food was hot. Just made me wonder where these came from if the rest was piping hot. I ordered the pork carnitas and the meat was just ok. Some parts were soft, the others a little dry. Overall the meal just did not hit the spot. We also ordered a chimichanga meal and it was ok. The refried beans had a little film to them, again seemed old but that could have just been the to-go packaging so I don't want to harp on that as we ate them anyway! In addition, the queso dip was pretty good, chopped full of jalapeños and peppers but the chips (which I assume are made there) were delicious, honestly the best tortilla chips I have had in a while. Best Mexican food in the area, maybe the Denver area even! There's tons of parking. It's located in the northwest corner of the shopping center. There's seating aplenty. They even have outdoor patio seating, which most people were opting for when I was there for lunch. As expected with a Mexican restaurant they bring out chips and salsa. The chips are nice and light and the two types of salsa they brought out were delicious. Speaking of lunch, they have ten lunch specials for $7.95. You'll easily find one you like and the price is right. I had an enchilada and a soft chile relleno. The soft chle relleno is the best I've ever had. It's a must try. They use a lot of cheese to top the food so if you don't like heavy cheese tell them to go light on the cheese topping. If you love heavy cheese topping then you'll be mighty happy!! Lunch comes with beans, rice and a very small sopapilla for dessert. The food is authentic tasting. Very similar to a lot of the home-cooked Mexican meals I've had. Service was fast and friendly. They have a happy hour from 4-7 pm daily at the bar area. Casa Vallarta will be a regular stop for me from now on when I'm in the Denver area. read more

We ordered their carne asada steak combo with shrimp wrapped in bacon and a chimichanga, and we overstuffed ourselves because everything was that delicious. This place is one of our go to comfort Mexican food spots. Are there places with better mexican food in Colorado? Sure, maybe... but the atmosphere here is great. Everyone eating here just seems genuinely happy to be here when you walk in and there seem to be a large number of regulars who've been coming for years. As far as food goes, it's all pretty solid but we generally recommend the molcajete with chicken. That's our go to and it is always delicious. Surprisingly, the hot wings are also very good which is something I honestly didn't expect to order at a mexican food spot. If you happen to wander over to the bar side of this restaurant, it's also a pretty great little spot to catch a game. Margaritas are affordable and pack a pretty good punch, there are tvs everywhere the eye can see, and it's usually not too difficult to find a space to accommodate whatever group size you are with. One final note, and probably one of the things we like so much about the atmosphere here, this place is authentically family owned and operated. We run into the owner often and he could not be nicer and more grateful to see you each and every time. Makes you feel good to keep on coming back. :) read more

My go-to Mexican restaurant ever since our kids were young, well over 20 years. The food is ALWAYS DELICIOUS, and the service has ALWAYS been excellent. In all these years we have NEVER had anything but fast, friendly service. As soon as you sit down you're served with delicious chips and salsa, a pitcher of water and an offer from the bar. And the Margaritas: my wife and I LOVE the margaritas. Neither of us are drinkers, but sometimes we joke, let's go get a margarita, and while we're there we'll have dinner. The enchilada didn't taste like enchilada sauce ( tasted like plain tomato sauce), the cheese was not melted, the crispy chile relleno was not crispy at all. It tasted like raw dough, the beans tasted like they were mixed with can beans. The plate had no presentation, no lettuce or tomato. I had to pour the salsa from the chips over my plate to give it flavor. The food was bland. I will not return. The only thing that was good was the waitress. I used to come here all the time so I thought it would be a good idea to come tonight. Once my boyfriend and i were sat it took our waiter 10 minutes to great us and say he will be right back. He came back 20 minutes later and asked if someone had taken our order. My problem here is he never asked how we were doing or if we had any questions. I watched him later treat all of his guests around me with urgency and he even sang happy birthday to a party he had. I was never once asked how my meal was. I have been coming to Casa Vallarta all my life, ever since I was a little girl but have been coming more often since I live closer to the area now. This place will always be a childhood memory for me, something that our family always looked forward to. I took my husband to Casa Vallarta last night for the first time for a late night bite. He couldn't believe how big the restaurant was! We were seated immediately and greeted by Leo. We were instantly served with chips and salsa (I LOVE their chips and salsa!) and Leo started us off with margaritas and sangria which Leo personally recommended. Both drinks were well made and came out quickly! My husband ordered Chile Rellelos and I ordered their Burrito Manadero Enchilada Style. Both dishes were fantastic! Generous portions, came out quickly, authentic, and so delicious! We ordered Fried Ice Cream and Sopapillas for dessert, both desserts were such a treat and were devoured in seconds! We were so full and satisfied, every stage of our meal was just perfect. And let me brag on Leo for a second: since the moment we sat down, Leo was so fun and friendly and animated, incredibly welcoming and made us feel like family. Without a doubt one of the best servers we've ever had. He was definitely a big part of having the great dinner experience that we had, and he took such good care of us.
