This place is among so many that look the same. They have the same small space, tables right next to each other, basically the same menu with minor variations, basically the same prices, and similar ratings. I went with my new boss, I will admit to trying to impress her with my ability to pick a good place. Choosing which one to go to was not easy, I think I nailed it. She had the special, a branzino with a fish sauce risotto. I had the shrimp risotto. They were both amazing. The risottos were different and both delicious. The service was prompt, informative, and speedy without making us feel rushed. It was a squeeze to get it the table (I am a bit of a big girl) but once we were there and seated, it felt like just the right amount of room. I would recommend going here. We stopped in for lunchtime after another nearby spot was sold out. The place was fairly empty so they easily accommodated our party of 9. The restaurant was hot as it was mostly just outside air with a small wall A/C. Service was okay but of the 9 water glasses, two were dirty. Went there with my boyfriend, we just wanted to have an appetizer and some drinks. After our drinks were brought out, my boyfriend tried to order an appetizer, but the staff told us we had to order entrées or leave. No one mentioned this rule when we walked in, and it wasn't written anywhere on the menu. We asked if we could at least finish our drinks before leaving. The waiter said that was fine and told us the table would be available for another 30 minutes. But about 15 minutes later, he came back and said, "We need the table right now." I assumed he meant there was another seating area, but, to my surprise, there was nothing back there. This is a place you'll pass by every time you head to the north end as it's close to the beginning of north end and not realize you passed an AWESOME italian restaurant. First - their pasta is home made. Their calamari was made perfectly not over cooked. Their white clam was tasteful . We had the lasagna and the fruiti de mare which had plenty of seafood. Customer service was very good and never did we have to ask for water as they were very attentive to all customers needs. We sat to eat at 3:00pm for a late lunch. We sat at the open windows on a beautiful sunny day. Perfect. Fried calamari was cooked well, not chewy, would have liked the lemon to be fresh and not fried. The pasta was al dente and fresh. The sauce was great for a hot day, light and flavorful. A bit shocked by all the positive reviews... did we all eat the same food here? First off, let me start by saying that the service was excellent - no complaints there. However the food... meatballs were ok, ravioli was just ok (muted flavor in my opinion, but the lobster rav was at least better than the mushroom), and cannoli might have been the only slightly better thing on the menu. Dined here back in Feb during the arctic blast we had and still this restaurant was jam packed! We were a little early for our reservation but they were able to sit us almost immediately. It is a cozy spot with tables close together, we actually ended up making friends with the two neighboring tables! Our server was very nice and attentive despite it being busy! Drinks: I had a Cosmo and my boyfriend had the espresso (unfortunately didn't snap a picture) both delicious highly recommend the espresso. The garlic bread with the Meatball appetizer was very tasty. My wife enjoyed her; mozzarella,basil tomato appetizer. My wife's Gnocchi was the best she has ever had. My veal parm was good and my son had the fettuccine Alfredo which he enjoyed. Service was very good. Plus the outdoor seating on this perfect summer day in Boston was a huge win. Meatball app - 9/10, red sauce is amazing. Just wish you got more than 3 small meatballs for the price. 2. Cesar salad - 9/10 3. Carbonara - 6/10, this was not a carbonara at all. Nice ambiance, cute decor. However, tables are 6 inches apart -- hope you're comfortable being close to strangers while dining. Bread was great! Unfortunately, the spaghetti and meatballs were extremely underwhelming (bland) and the chicken parm followed suit. Also overpriced -- over 80$ for 2 entrees and 1 wine, you could get better at any other restaurant on the street. To add insult to injury, our server couldn't be more disinterested in his job... plus it's a little awkward to watch him sitting on his phone in the dining room. We accidentally stumbled into this place on a cold and rainy Tuesday afternoon. It has a very humble appearance but it was very cozy and the staff was fantastic. They were friendly, easy to talk with and made sure everyone in the restaurant was taken care of. The food was simply delicious. It exceeded any expectations we had and then some. From the meatball apps, to the warm bread with oil and Parmesan cheese, I knew the entrees were going to be amazing. I got the lamb and my wife the mushroom ravioli. Casarecce had the best Italian food we have had since we were in Italy! Little Italy in Boston has so many options for a nice dinner that it was just by luck we decided to eat here. We were sat immediately by a window seat and greeted with water and fresh bread before we even had our coats off. The whole place is no more than 10 tables and so the servers can spend extra time walking you through the menu and helping you choose a wine pairing. Our waiter was also very funny and personable. They played Italian music and had wine racks all over with very interesting labels to look at. The food was delicious! Everything came out hot and quickly. The portion sizes were quite large and we still tried to eat slow to savor every bite! Dishes usually range between $20-$30 but the meal you are going to have here is well worth that price! read more

As if we were to assume that we were about to receive a fresh new order.. (shady) All 3 entrees were a disaster. Lasagna was re heated after some one had already sent it back, then was given to us. Lobster ravioli was hardly mid with the filling being dryer then the so called bruschetta bread. The chicken parm would have been better from an Olive Garden. Your red sauce has zero flavor, defend your fresh rolled pasta all you want. You can have fresh pasta and kill it with your bland sauce. Amazing dinner at Casarecce on a Saturday evening! My friend and I were seated promptly for our 5pm reservation at a cozy two-person table and our waiter was super friendly. A busy January Saturday night trying to have a great meal before a Bruins game at TD Garden. We were a few minutes late to our 5:30 reservation as the falling snow and traffic got the better of us. But there sat our table waiting for us. Thank you! It was a packed house and we appreciated that they held the table for us. Wine list had a good variety of price points so we selected a bottle of red. Bread service was included and had an eggplant chutney-like topping and Parmesan cheese. I wasn't a big fan of the eggplant, it had a bit of an off flavor to me, almost fishy. We got the calamari for the table and it was delicious- light breading, hot and a nice serving of marinara. My bolognese was outstanding. Meaty and the pasta was homemade and perfectly prepared. As with many Northend restaurants you have to be ready to be elbow to elbow with your dining neighbors. We had a reservation for a party of four. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Some of the food (meat balls and roasted potatoes) were not served hot (barely warm). My beet arugula salad was delicious. Our table enjoyed the chicken parm spring rolls as an appetizer and the mussels were delicious. My son's veal dish had cold potatoes and a the portion on the veal was underwhelming. Overall the four of us would rate our experience as average. Expensive entrees from 36-39 dollars. I will go with four stars in the end but the true rating is somewhere between three and four stars in my eyes. Place is small and requires reservations for sure. We came in on the early side for a 5 pm dinner. I highly recommend as an app the chicken parm egg rolls. Sounds weird but it works. Good for sharing and something unusual to try. My main was a spaghetti white clam sauce. The clams were strangely bland and a little chewy. The dish was a mild let down. My dining companions enjoyed the veal saltimbocca and the shrimp fra diavolo was pretty solid as well with nice flavors. Wines were on point as was the affogato desert. Our waiter was solid no nonsense and got us what we needed. Place had us in and out in 70 minutes which suited our schedule nicely. I would go here again although there are better NE places.
