I absolutely loved the service at this restaurant! My daughter and I went to this restaurant on a Saturday at the North End, so you can imagine how packed all the places were. We looked at the menu and loved the selections, so we entered to see, if there was any chance, as the place was full. Our server greeted us right away with a great smile and told us that we should have a table in about 20 minutes and took our name. The place is really small, but very cozy and fun. Loved the decorations with all the wine bottles and the traditional Italian music, which transports us to a new place. We got our table in less time than that and my daughter ordered the Carbonara and I had the Bolognese. They were both good plates, the Papardelle Bolognese pasta was a little undercooked and I was missing a little bit of the ragu flavor and the sickness behind the sauce. Having said that, I enjoyed the plate overall and considering that this was a Saturday, it's hard to manage the busy environment sometimes. My daughter's carbonara was good as well, but sauce was missing some of that parmesan strength that comes with the plate. The pancettas were nice and the pasta was al dente. We both really enjoyed the place, the atmosphere, the coziness of the table and the service that really transported you back to Italy. So we had the opportunity to try this place the service was phenomenal and they ended up seating us pretty quick even during a busy Saturday evening. I'm giving it three stars more for the food. I didn't really enjoy my dish. It was not so flavorful compared to other Italian dishes I've had that are the same dish, like it was lacking some of the meat that needed to be in the sauce my wife got lasagna Bolognese, which OK it was missing meat sauce between the layers. It seemed like it was just noodle cheese, noodle cheese, noodle cheese, noodle cheese, and the meat sauce on top so the times that I've had, there goes noodle cheese sauce, noodle cheese sauce, noodle cheese sauce, sauce on top you know and then cheese, but it wasn't like that so it was a little dry in the sense and lacking some of the sauce service I would say was four stars they sat right away was quick check came out quick didn't feel rushed overall great experience read more

One thing that was a major concern are the alternative charges/fees they tried to charge afterwards. I understand businesses trying to get back on their feet but legally they should be letting people know prior to service. I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate an occasion for dinner. Most of the North End restaurants had a 2+ hour wait or were not accepting any new customers. He found this place with no wait and grabbed a table while I was on my way from work. He ordered tomato gnocchi and asked to make it spicy, which was no problem for the chef. I tried a few bites and it was delicious and very spicy per his request. I ordered the ravioli, which was filling and slightly unique tasting. It was plain cheese filled, but I detected a bit of nuttiness and a drier cheese inside, which was a nice change of pace. For the price for both of our entrees, mine was on the smaller side and my boyfriend's was average. They also give a bread basket (good bread, nothing spectacular) with butter; we asked for olive oil the first time and balsamic on the second refill. It took a while to get the second refill, but we weren't in a rush. I had a tiramisu for dessert (which was actually larger than I expected), which was also good. Service was fine; our water glasses never went empty and our bread basket got refilled once. I do have to say it was a bit slow toward the end of our meal. We waited close to 15 minutes for the check, and there were more busboys/waiters than full tables. The best part about the service was that our waiter was HILARIOUS and quirky; he kept us laughing/entertained all night. It is very intimate in here (I think this used to be a frozen yogurt shop a long time ago), so beware if you aren't a fan of small places. We could hear the conversations of all the groups around us, which didn't bother us, but I could see how someone else might be claustrophobic. The tables can easily be pulled apart/combined to accommodate party sizes, though! Overall, I probably wouldn't come here again unless someone else in my party wanted to. I thought it was a bit expensive considering I wasn't in love with it. Don't get me wrong, it was GOOD FOOD, just not the best I've had in the North End for the price. read more

Came to NE a long time ago and never got to eat here. It was a cold day and we Finally scored a parking spot. (That was brutal). The lines for other restaurants on a Saturday afternoon were ridiculous. We are a fly by the seat of our pants kinda couple. Saw Casarecce on a corner and threw caution to the wind. The sauce for the cacciatore was warm, with a back taste of red wine, the chicken was soft and tender. Dined here on Saturday evening with three family members. The overall experience was fine, though nothing that would compel us to return. The food was under seasoned across the board. We got broccoli rabe, meatballs, Caesar salad, bruschetta, and caprese salad. The bruschetta bread wasn't toasted so it truly impacted the experience. The tomatoes in the caprese were ok but a nicely ripened heirloom tomato would have been better. my pappardelle was just barely al dente and some the noodles were stuck together as they werent fully cooked. I tried my sister's eggplant parm and that was delicious - probably the best dish of the whole experience. My brother loved his lobster ravioli. So much that he didnt offer anyone to try it . Lastly, three of four of us arrived on time for our reservations at 6pm. They wouldnt allow us to order anything until the fourth arrived. And we were asked to leave at 7pm. We visited this restaurant the night I arrived in Boston. The weather was terrible due to the complimentary remnants of Hurricane Ida and my friends didn't make a reservation in the North End. Casarecce was kind enough to accept us and create a reservation at the last minute. We ran a few minutes late due to the inclement weather and lack of parking, but the staff was still accommodating. Once we finally arrived, I couldn't wait to eat after traveling all afternoon and have a glass of wine. The restaurant decided they wanted to close early due to the weather so we were a bit rushed to order. I was hungry so this wasn't too bothersome. In the end, my friend and I both ordered the bolognese with fettuccine and her husband ordered the chicken Parmesan. He enjoyed his dish and we thoroughly enjoyed our bolognese. The house made pasta was superb! This would be a great date night venue as it's small, charming and has an intimate vibe. There is also some outdoor seating. Update - spent the day with stomach issues/food poisoning. Do not recommend. We usually love to eat Italian on the east coast and decide to try Casarecce. My wife had the vodka chicken pasta. The pasta was good but the chicken lack flavor. I had the Frutti di Mare and now my stomach is bubbling. It was good but not great and I'm hoping I'm not sitting on the toilet in few hours. Definitely something is not sitting right in the old stomach. We went to Isabella's the other night and it was hands down 100% better. We even brought up that the chicken had no flavor and we basically got a shrug and the bill! We won't be back. read more

Really enjoyed this small spot in the North End. We got lucky and got sat right by the windowsill and it was so intimate and cozy. Since it's a small space, it did get pretty loud but it was still enjoyable. We started with the Eggplant Modugnese which was delicious and had a nice presentation. We also had the Spaghetti Frutti de Mare, Shrimp Diavolo Spaghetti and I had the Casarecce Vodka. All the plates were so flavorful and absolutely delicious!! The seafood plates were definitely better so I would reccomend those. Me and my wife stopped in for lunch. It was about 3/4 full. Service is not good. Never refilled our drinks or checked in. Food is more of a tourist type Italian restaurant. Definitely not authentic type Italian food. Honestly I have had better Italian at Olive Garden. We got Spaghetti Carbenera. It was Flavorless and runny. I ordered some meatballs. They were dry and flavorless. We also had Barrata. The tomato's were not very good, cheese was ok and they only put a few drops of vinegar. Prosciutto was poor quality and chewy. Came in for lunch today, we had the Fruitti De mare, lamb ragu and shrimp risotto. The food was very good and flavorful, the pasta itself was pretty amazing. I think the pasta is homemade which means it's fresh when cooked and not dried from a package. The texture is springy and soft (not mushy), I was very impressed. Never had pasta like this before. This place was awesome! Tom was a great host. Walked in alone for a work trip and was treated well and the first bite of the porcini ravioli pasta made me go....mmm! It was good. Well priced and delish! Had a salad, wine and the pasta and cannolis! I was impressed. If you're on a budget or diet skip the wine or the cannolis but not both!
