After no response I called to follow up and eventually texted a day or two later with a day and time he would come by to look at my project. Humberto came by on a weekend which was perfect but in the middle of me asking questions he commented how he didn't have much time and had to go, like I was inconvenienced him, We agreed he call the following Monday or Tuesday with a quote. That call never came. I called and sent text messages and received no response. Unfortunate this took place as this reviews were good but he was less than satisfactory. They just left our house after taking out a very very tall palm tree. They prep the area very well by putting up a board against the window that was nearby and protected the plants. They were 4 men, so the work went very quickly. They removed the stump as well. When they were done, they did an immaculate job of cleaning up The price we paid was actually lower than the original estimate and was lower than another company we had checked into. We also use them throughout the years to trim the palm tree, but it was just getting too tall and messy to deal with. I would recommend Umberto and his crew in a heartbeat. We had several trees that were growing straight down the side of our neighbors & our house of which we're only separated by about 8 feet. All of which, were on our side of the line. (Yay us!) The trees were creating a heck of a mess on our rooftop, gutters, roots under the driveway causing cracks and not to mention, the non-stop paw-traffic of squirrels & raccoons up the trees & onto our roof. They left flyers in our neighborhood and coincidentally did need an entire sprinkler rework and sod out front. Had a couple other people come out, but they were booked really far out and I wanted to get comparative quotes anyways. Heavy set fellow showed up, I told him what we wanted to do ..it was fairly simple.. I share a front yard with my neighbor and they currently have a bender board in, I wanted to add an additional bender board of my own, rework of sprinklers and sod, but he said he couldn't do it without causing damage to my nieghbors bender board. I showed him what I had going on, what we needed. He hardly said a word or showed interest. (Were talking somewhere in the 5 to 6k range in work). I politely asked the workers to please help me with picking up the mess they made. The workers pretended to ignore me and said they spoke no English. I have never had a tree removed before so I figured I would call the standard 3 places to get quotes and make a decision from there. I set three appointments but Humberto was able to get to my house the same day and the other companies were the follow day. He came out, took a look at the tree and quoted me a price which I thought was very reasonable (even though I have zero experience in this arena, I expected it to be much more). Anyways I told him I would get back with him after the other appointments and sent him on his way. After thinking about it for a hour I called him back and hired him to do the job because he seemed professional, his price was below my expectations, and he was able to come out the following day and get the job done. He and his crew showed up on time, put up protective covering on the side of my house (including covering my split system hvac fan) and got to removing the tree. It took them just over 4 hours to get the tree down and the stump chipped out (at the stump was pretty large). I was very surprised at how quickly they were able to get the tree down and complete the job. They did an amazing job of making sure everything was cleaned up too. This guy or one of his people was walking around our neighborhood this morning and was distributing his business cards. Common practice to obtain business I get it. My issue is that he decides to just throw it on my porch carelessly, then walks away and proceeds to throw his trash in the street in front of my house. Great way to obtain business...NOT. They have always done excellent work at a very reasonable price. They have cut down trees, pruned shrubs, 'laced' a tree (thinning its branches for beauty and air circulation). They clear weeds and dispose of them. They listen to and observe special instructions for particular plants. This is important to me because I mostly grow California natives and fruit trees. They will leave a mulch pile for you if you ask. Employees are good, cooperative people - easy to work with. I usually just pay what they ask, but when I'm arranging service for a friend or my church, I ask for a bid against other reputable services. Their bid is always the lowest and doesn't change when 'unexpected' actions are required. They also do irrigation systems and design, and I believe they have added an arborist to their staff, but I haven't asked for these services yet. yet. I used Humberto last year to landscape my front yard with drought tolerant landscaping, DG, and stones. The plants have filled in and the area still looks great one year later. Humberto and his crew were AMAZING!!! For three years I dealt with rodents which tore my yard to pieces. As a result, the only thing that would grow was weeds, and they grew sparingly. On top of it all, during the rainy season, my dogs would trapeze in mud; so not only was my yard trashed, but so was my carpet. I was finally decided to get faux grass. Humberto gave me the best quote, with a high quality faux grass. He and his crew worked non-stop and finished my project a day and a half earlier than expected. When the job was completed, I took my dogs outside and I could get them to stop playing, rolling around and running all over the yard, something they hadn't wanted to do since before the rodents had trashed my yard and grass.
