We had lunch at Cascades Café inside the Gaylord Opryland when we first arrived at the resort, and it was a nice way to kick off our trip. I ordered the turkey BLT with fries, and a few of my sorors ordered the same. The sandwich was good, and the fries were fresh. It was the perfect lunch after a long day of traveling. One of my sorors ordered the Banana Foster Old Fashioned and absolutely loved it! I kept it simple with water because I was so thirsty from our trip, so I can't speak much on the other drinks. However, the food was satisfying and exactly what we needed after arriving. Our server, I believe his name was Morty, was kind, courteous, and very attentive throughout our meal. The ambiance was truly one of the best parts of the experience. Dining in the beautiful atrium surrounded by lush greenery and the indoor waterfall made it feel like we were eating in the middle of a rainforest. It's pleasant to dine in a Gaylord atrium. Wife got a decent martini and though no draft beer, they at least had a good selection of local brews. Wife thought her salad with salmon was pretty good, though there was a lot of lettuce filler. I did a burger and fries. The burger was advertised as wagyu. Picking it up it literally poured juice and grease, creating a puddle on the plate that required a small pile of napkins. With the toppings it was easily 4 inches high, so a challenge to eat but fairly impressive to serve. The steak fries were, to be generous, meh. The Gaylord's food theme is the food's not great but there's at least so many places to eat, that by the time you've tried a lot of them, your stay will probably be over. read more

OMG! This is my first time to Gaylord, we celebrating our 22nd Anniversary and for the second day in a row, we have eaten the breakfast buffet at Cascades. One word, Delicious. They got everything you need. Scrambled Eggs, eggs cooked to order, egg Benedict, bacon, sausage, smoked salmon, pancakes, assorted fresh cooked bread, pastries, doughnuts, croissants, fruits, freshly squeezed orange juice, grits, oatmeal, assorted cereal, I got to stop. Y'all already know I can't eat all this food. But, the egg and cheese omelette with a little scallion, bowl of cheese grits, few slices of bacon and piece of toast I did have, delicious! The staff were friendly and kept our drinks refilled. We came back for dinner and my husband had a Wagyu burger with fries, I had a Cascades sushi roll, and we shared a hot shrimp appetizer. They also offered Diskin cider which is one of my favorites, so we had a few pints of those. Then, we got a cheesecake and a chocolate pie to-go for later. This restaurant is one of the many inside The Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. We dined here on a Saturday and no reservation needed as it wasn't really busy. This is also Cascades/Wasabi so they have limited sushi menu as well. We had the Roasted Chicken and Ribeye steak. The chicken was really tasty, skin was crisp. I just felt there should be more veggies on the side instead of a just a few slices of zucchini. The steak was cooked to our preference and was huge. Definitely for sharing. Even though I'm not a buffet kind of person, the breakfast buffet this morning was fantastic. From the maitre de station to the wait staff and the chefs are were friendly and enthusiastic. Of course the local views are fantastic, surrounded by the plants and waterfalls and fountains in the cascades atrium. Following our check in and taking a gander around the atrium bucolic splendor that is the Gaylord Opryland resort, we grabbed a late lunch at the Cascades American Cafe. Overall, the meal and cocktails was solid. We didn't wait too long for our food, which comprised splitting an entree and an appetizer. The cocktails overall were solid between the fruitier one I ordered second that was better than the banana bread old fashioned I initially had first. For food, the Nashville hot shrimp was delicious while the roasted lamb sandwich was very good. Price-wise, the meal wasn't too bad. The cocktails were more on the pricier side but that is par for the course when you stay at a hotel or resort. Kept it simple for dinner ordering the Mediterranean salad and salmon. Salmon was really small for the price but it was flavorful. Service was excellent as our waiter made several trips the table checking in my party. Atmosphere is amazing because of the resort layout. Overall average food but excellent service and surroundings. We love the Gaylord Opryland hotel, but insist on reservations in Cascades simply doesn't offer them. Being local, it makes it nearly impossible to plan a meal or outing to this wonderful restaurant, as it's quite a hassle to get there and you don't know if you're going to have to wait five minutes or an hour. Also in trying to determine whether or not it even takes reservation required almost 30 minutes of phone calling to Marriott and having to weave our way through their various reservation call centers only to get to a junior staff member on site who had no idea what I was talking about. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel so we ate there 3 times. First experience was the breakfast buffet. Phenomenal! Best grits I've ever had. The scrambled eggs were delicious along with the fresh squeezed orange juice. We were blown away by the quality. Second time was for lunch, I had the Nashville Hot Shrimp. It was very tasty and it had a little kick to it. My husband had the burger. Delicious! So for our last night we had to try the dinner. This is where the 3 stars come in. I had the sushi. Very basic and pretty tasteless. My husband had the ribeye. He had to send it back because it was over cooked but the steak was also tasteless. He said the green beans and the potatoes were just average. We were so disappointed with the amount of money we spent for dinner and what we received. If we are ever back in Nashville we would come back for the breakfast. The restaurant had a nice relaxing atmosphere with the sounds of the waterfalls and softly played music. The morning and day crew were awesome! Excited and it seemed that they wanted to be there. The dinner crew lacked friendliness and didn't carry the same energy that the earlier crew did. It can get pretty loud because of how echoey it gets plus the waterfall is quite loud, and place can be crowded if they have a conference or convention going on which they do frequently. Anyway the food was pretty okay, menu is rather limited and everything is priced a bit high, which is not a surprise for a hotel restaurant. Cascades at the Opryland Resort is a very relaxing place to eat. We arrived with a party of 8 and they were able to fit us in. The restaurant is in a large atrium with lots of foliage and a few waterfalls. There's lots of natural light, and because it's enclosed, the temperatures were very comfortable. Service here is excellent. Everyone is pleasant, welcoming, and accommodating. I ordered the turkey sandwich with came with a side of fries. One other of our group got the chicken Caesar salad. Yes, it's a little pricey, but not for a resort. All-in-all a very nice experience. read more

Cascades is by-far my favorite table-service dining establishment inside of the Gaylord Opryland. The staff was very friendly and the ambiance was nice in the middle of the lobby at dusk. While there wasn't anything specifically happening in the restaurant there was still a vibe of people coming and going which had a nice energy through the meal. None of us were extremely hungry so the portions were perfect after a full day in the convention center. The lettuce wrap was a great 'healthy' option after days of travel. The flavor was good and there was more than enough to not be hungry and get the veggies and protein together. The Ahi Tuna was cooked perfectly and was also very filling. This location is one of the places to eat in side of the hotel just pass the lobby in the first atrium. The surroundings were exceptional! You eat right in the atrium surround by the most beautiful waterfalls, plants, and nature. That part is amazing. The service was outstanding as well. Our waiter never missed a beat. The food however was very mediocre And the prices were crazy high. For 4 adults one teenager and a child our meal was $400! My mother in-law had a steak and it was covered in some kind of mushroom cream sauce. I'm sure it was supposed to help cover the fact that the steak was a truly horrible cut of meat. Tough and filled with gristle it was a $60 steak that looked like it came from Walmart. My teenager and I both had sushi that was $17 a roll and the pieces came out the size of a quarter and there were only 8 of them. Our sushi was good but for the cost there should have been more! My youngest's grilled cheese was $13 and looked good but must have been fried in old grease. It had a funky after taste that made it uneditable. My father in law and my wife both had the seared salmon... my wife said it was blah... just no flavor. It was seriously disappointing. Not worth the cost at all. I truly suggest eating somewhere else! For the atmosphere of the location I'd give it a 10 out of 5 the service was a 5 out if 5 and the food a 0! read more

This is the only place I consistently eat at when coming to the hotel. I have been here many times, with excellent results. Unfortunately, this was not the case this time. For some reason, multiple tables (including mine) waited an unusually long time for the meals. The waitress brought us all complimentary potato crisps. I ordered this lamb sandwich, which was like reconfigured Gyro. The table next to me, was seated well after me, yet was served well before me. By the time my meal arrived, they were finalizing the bill. One of the men had ordered the same sandwich as I, & it looked delicious. You could clearly see the lamb, with an appropriate layer of arugula on top. When my sandwich arrived, you could see a massive amount of arugula and nothing else from the side. At first, I thought they just added extra greens. NOPE! There was a smattering of very little lamb crumbles. There were entire sections of there sandwich that had none. All together, there was probably 1-2 oz of lamb for this large sandwich. On one 1/2, there were no tomatoes. On the other 1/2, there was only half of a grape tomato. This is a $21 sandwich, in which there was sauce, arugula, and onions. Almost no protein. When I was done (to which the waitress confirmed), I sat and waited a very long time for my check. In fact, I flagged down somebody else to pay in the end b/c it was taking so long. For just a sandwich, I was stuck there for 1.5hrs or more. UGH. The waitress was kind initially, and kept telling me my food would be out in a couple minutes, but it wasn't. It just dragged out forever. I felt sympathy for her initially, believing the issue was getting the orders completed in a timely fashion. But after I even had trouble getting my check, I started to just get frustrated and annoyed. I'll be back at Gaylord next week, but think I'll pass on this restaurant for the first time ever. read more

Walked into the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and came across the restaurant. The food was prepared very well. The soup not too salty and had a nice flavor to it. I had the wedge salad with sliced of chicken. There was enough for 2. My husband had the wedge salad as well, along with a burger and fries. The burger was medium, just the way he likes them and the fries were seasoned well and very tasty. The service was impeccable as our waiter was well spoken and concerned for our needs. The ambiance was gorgeous. You felt you were in another country, with the waterfalls and flowers and plants as your scenery. Very relaxing and colorful. Overall, a great experience. read more

We were going to the grand old opera and decided to have dinner here at this hotel. The hotel is not very very large hard to get around, but we figured it out. The restaurant was beautiful setting with lots of waterfalls in the background. The food was very good I had a power bowl which I really enjoyed. Also, we had turkey BLT with french fries so good and a steak fritter, which was also very good with nice potatoes, and the drinks were very expensive so if you drink, just be aware that the prices the waiter Joseph was very good. So if you're looking for a casual place within the hotel or going to the Opryland It's really not far from there and it's really got lots of restaurants but this one we really enjoy read more

Cascades American Cafe is located in the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center by the Cascades lobby. From 6:30am-11:00am, they offer a buffet breakfast. At 12:00pm, they start serving lunch. My colleague and I arrived around 11:50am and there was already a long line waiting for a table for lunch. They did not start seating till it was 12:00pm. They let a few groups in, but when we got there, they took my name and number for the waitlist. There were quite a lot of tables empty, but I suppose they didn't want to overwhelm the staff and the kitchen. We waited about 20 minutes and got our table. We both ordered the classic burger with fries. The burger comes with Butter Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Pop's Pickles, Cheddar, American Cheese, Cascades Sauce, Charpier Brioche. It was a pretty good, juicy, and fresh burger. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Also, there are beautiful cascade waterfalls everywhere you look. read more
