This is one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to in my life. I hate giving one star reviews. I really do. But this place is on a whole different level. My mother-in-law-to-be has an absolute obsession with this place, and hyped it up A LOT. My girlfriend agreed with her, so between both of their excitement to eat here for lunch on our day trip up to DC, I had really high hopes. Their first experience must have been VERY different from mine. First of all, the place looks like a dive. From the really tacky pig statue out in front of the restaurant, to the dingy, unclean looking dining room. Nothing about it shouts "amazing restaurant", not based on aesthetics. We were one of two tables in the dining room. Despite this fact, our waitress was impossibly and frustratedly slow. She kept disappearing to the bathrooms and the bar, leaving us and the other table pretty much stranded and left to our own devices. To start, we ordered cheese curds ($8.25). They were pretty good, but way over priced for the amount that we got. My girlfriend and her mom both ordered the pulled pork sandwich ($9.25) and I ordered the brisket sandwich ($8.75). This is a neutral point to make but I thought it was weird that the brisket was cheaper than the pork, as in most BBQ places it's the opposite. Each of these sandwiches comes with potato chips, cole slaw, and pickles. The mother had no complaints about her food. My girlfriend didn't either.... At first. She became sick within an hour of us leaving, and remained locked in various bathrooms for the rest of our trip. Silly me, when I thought it came with potato chips, I was expecting an unbagged, perhaps house made chip. Nope. It's a bag of Lay's. It adds to the "tacky" label of the place. My brisket was disgusting and almost inedible. It was dry and cut with the grain, so it was tough as shoe leather. I gauge a BBQ place by its brisket since it's my favorite, and I have never had anything as tough as this. I ate maybe half and then just focused on my bagged chips and cheese curds. The coleslaw was also old and way too loose. Like my girlfriend, I became ill within maybe half an hour and remained queasy for three days. I am not saying it was the food, but I don't think it was coincidence that my girlfriend and I both had stomach issues immediately after. I don't care how much the mother enjoys it, I will never come back here if I can avoid it. read more

The brisket was good and pork shoulder was SPOT ON. The house salad is just cubed iceberg and giant wedges of tomato with some green peppers? Meh. BBQ chicken (dark) was over cooked but tender, and rather small. Server delivered wrong beer bottle with no offer of a glass. She quickly replaced with the correct bottle but not opened. Wish I had liked this place because the folks are so friendly and the service so kind. Unfortunately the food ruined the experience. Four of the six of us had stomach problems for the next 12 hours. Not how you want to spend a nice weekend getaway in Door County. The pulled pork was alright, but it wasn't barbecue flavored. My husband, who can eat anything, discouraged anyone from ordering the ribs or the brisket. My brother liked his fish, but again the stomach issues emerged a few short hours later. read more

Walked in for lunch. There were 2 couples seated in the bar area and 2 tables seated in the dining area. A server greeted us. The bar server and supervisor (?) were talking at the end of the bar. After that we were completely ignored. No menus. Nothing. Walked out to find the staff. The supervisor and server were chatting. When asked if they were going to serve us they told us the bartender would be with us (?!). The bartender walked out scowling a minute later and called out across the bar that she would be with us in a minute and then continued to ignore us. Can't say that it is cosy and that you will enjoy hanging out there Value -- It was a good meal and the price was very fair $15 per person with a shared appetizer and one meat main each. I was in Door County for a business trip and stopped in for a weekday dinner. The service was fantastic and attentive. The server did a wonderful job making recommendations and helping me narrow down a great selection--the beef brisket with sides of a house salad and french fries. The house salad came out and was well assembled and crisp. The brisket came out and was only luke warm. While the meat was flavorful, tender, and expertly cut--I felt as if it was prepped a while prior to ordering. The sauce was a little strong on the vinegar side, but that may have been intentional. I am not a BBQ expert or enthusiast, so I may have missed some of the finer points. While highly rated by both the locals I know and the area tourism groups, I left with an only so-so experience. I believe that the weekend experience would be VERY different and likely far superior. I will give it a try again when here over a weekend. read more

My fiance and I loved this place when we stopped for lunch. Totally unpretentious, almost divey-feel in the sense that it feels like a game-watching hangout spot, but clean and not filled with seedy characters. Jukebox and some arcade games fill in the front along the walls, and there is also an ATM available. We grabbed seats at the bar lined with pennies all the way around. "How much you think is in here," I asked my fiance. "A hundred bucks?" "About $270, give or take a few bucks," according to the woman handing us menus. Ok, well keep me off of Price is Right, then. We opted to share ($6 split charge) the three-meat combo ($28) with the brisket, ribs, and pork shoulder, with mac and cheese and corn nuggets as the sides. The food arrived quickly, and everything was delicious - the mac and cheese creamy with a thick Velveeta-like sauce, and the creamed corn fried nuggets were crispy and sweet and definitely not something I've had before but would love to eat again. The meat was tender and retained a nice smoky flavor. We washed it down with an Island Orchard Cider and a Stillmank Brewing Beer, awesome for us because we didn't make it to those tasting rooms themselves, so we still got to drink local. It seemed like a slower Sunday afternoon towards the end of tourist season, but I can't think of anything I'd take stars off for - we'd definitely come back to eat again. read more

Conflicted about this one. In regards to BBQ, it's great BBQ. We shared a prime rib sandwich, which tastes great with the onion straws and house-made sauce. Smaller portions, and pretty pricy in relation to the portion size- pretty disappointed. Other things that bugged us: a $6 'sharing fee' to split a larger entree. A side of potato chips is a small bag of classic Lays potato chips. Pricey, and smaller portions. The only reason that this doesn't get two stars is because it's really good BBQ. While looking though a Door County dining guide I came across a menu for Casey's. In my opinion BBQ places can be hit or miss so upon seeing good reviews on Yelp my wife and I decided to check it out. Boy am I glad we did. The beef brisket sandwiches we had were loaded with beef and the BBQ sauce had an amazing smokey flavor. The mac and cheese we added as a side was creamy and very good. The only disappointment is that the sandwich came with a bag of Lays chips instead of homemade chips but the rest of the meal made up for it. The service was also attentive and friendly. I bought an bottle of their BBQ sauce before we left because I loved it so much and don't know when we'll make it up to Door County again. When we do, though, we'll definitely stop at Casey's. read more

This is always a stop when we visit Egg Harbor. We love that even over spring break, when the weather is still cold in Wisconsin, and it's the "off " season, Casey's is still smoking some fantastic BBQ. Located in Egg Harbor, Casey's does a really good job with the BBQ. I love BBQ, so I wanted to check out Casey's. We weren't too hungry so we just shared a pulled pork sandwich and an order of curds. BBQ was tender and juicy. Not really smokey flavored but good none the less. Who doesn't love fried cheese curds? Be warned the place is kind of a dive. Ordered the Saturday night smoked prime rib and it was excellent. Smoked flavor and a great rub made it one of the tastiest prime ribs I've ever had! My 2 and 4 year old split a smoked pork quesadilla that was stuffed with a ton of meat. The smoked pork had a nice Smokey bark on some of the pieces and was tender and delicious. The service was fast, which was much appreciated since we have small kids. They also have a pretty lengthy beer list, which my husband was happy about. We were there over 4th of July weekend three separate times. Twice to drink and once to eat. Good drinks and good prices at the bar. The bartenders are great. If there's a better place to drink in Door County, I'd love to know what it is The food was pretty remarkable as well. Great brisket and my first experience of deep fried creamed corn. We had dinner here on Saturday June 19, 2021. After looking at the reviews, and having a very good gut instinct, we decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did!! Remember folks, don't always believe everything you read in negative reviews. Some times it is just people have a bad day. We were not going to get an appetizer but decided to get the 1/3 rack of ribs on haystack onion straws. I am so glad we did!! I ever never seen meat just fall of the ribs like it did!! Amazing and great flavor. We original went there for the brisket and did have brisket sandwiches that were also very good but the ribs one the battle!! Great portion sizes. They do not skimp on there food. My only complaint is that the beer bottles were definitely not close to being cold enough. I don't know if they just restocked but my Coors Lights, though good, need to be cold blasted. Other than that, very friendly, great food, and they have new customers when ever we visit Door County. Soooo good! We were visiting Fish Creek for their annual winter festival and stopped on the way home. We were blown away by how good our food was. I had the Door County Yellow Perch, my husband had the two meat plate, my son chicken tenders and daughter ribs. My perch was the best I've ever had and my husband agreed! We will definitely be making the 1.5 hour drive to eat here again soon!! read more

Been here several times and have sampled most of the BBQ, all is delicious btw. I recently heard they offered prime rib. Had to try it. First off it was so tender I could cut it with my fork (was an inch thick at least). Nicely marbled. What makes it different is it's magnificent Smokey flavor. Had a couple of salads, and the Whitefish Chowder. All were excellent. It's a great location with a nice view of the water. It's dog friendly out in the yard out back which makes it really good. I like that they smoke with Cherry Wood. It's cool because it's plentiful locally, and it gives a great flavor on the pork.
