Visiting from Santa Fe, NM and this place was suggested for 'comfort food'. No kidding! I ordered pork chops with hashbrowns and scrambled eggs, and whole wheat toast. The amount of food was HUGE and the toast too! These have got to be the best pork chops I've ever had. Staff is super friendly, place is packed. My partner ordered the half serving of biscuits and gravy and it took up the whole plate! The gravy was awesome, salted just right. Other than it took a wild to get a refill on coffee, I will definitely be back here! Used to really enjoy Casey's. Fine place to take the family for some easy breakfast or lunch. Never ate dinner there. I have eaten ate Casey's several dozen times over the years, standard fare with my folks or with my kids and a cup of coffee... Having been disappointed with the quality recently I thought I'd give it another go this morning. Took my daughters, one got an omelette and the other some French toast. I made the mistake of ordering chicken fried steak (which I have enjoyed in the past). The plate I received had the flour fried steak sitting on top of the under-cooked potatoes (shredded potatoes without a single hint of browning), two medium fried eggs and a cup of gravy on a separate plate with my toast. I took the steak off the potatoes, poured the gravy over the steak and took a bite. The gravy had no flavor whatsoever - it would have been more suitable for making paper mache. No amount of pepper or salt could do it justice. My daughters ate about half of their plates but the over-cooked bacon, raw hash "browns" and salty "gourmet" omelette were left uneaten. My youngest said her French toast was good. Needless to say I did not pay for the chicken fried steak order as I took only three bites and could not stomach any more. I did add gratuity when paying the tab because the table service was as good as ever with friendly smiling faces and attention to customer service. Personally, I have now added Casey's to my list of restaurants to avoid in Roseburg. It is unfortunate because it used to be a reliable place for standard diner fare. When they can't even serve up a decent gravy or brown the hash "browns" it's time to look elsewhere for my comfort food. read more

I was looking for Granny's Mini-Hut but it seemed closed up so tried Casey's, but the building fronting Garden Valley Road was empty; however, there were several cars there so I looked behind the building and found Casey's Restaurant full and overflowing just after 11 a..m. on a Saturday. There was space at the counter and I ordered the Philly steak & cheese sandwich with soup (navy bean). There is a big choice of sides: fries, tater tots, soup, chilled peach slices, coleslaw, onion rings and probably a couple more that I don't remember. The sandwich, already cut in half was large and in a long bun cut on three sides. Inside was lots of meat, onions and bell peppers but cheese only on one-half sandwich. This is an update/ edit from my original 2 star (below) that was based on service since I didn't get to try the food. I returned on a Saturday the place was super busy and we went pretty early. I can now say the food was very good all omelets, portions were large stuffed with cheese and meat (we all left a little something behind, there were four of us) service was on the slow side but like I say the place was busy. The server we had was was friendly, and offered suggestions. One piece of advice, if you don't want your bacon cooked to death I mean way beyond crisp you need to tell them. Out of the four of us only one person was able to choke a whole piece down. Original review: This review is based on service only since I didn't get a chance to try the food. Waited more than 5 minutes at the sign that says Hostess will seat you with my cane since I don't stand very well. The hostess actually sat people that were behind me and never even acknowledged me after waiting a couple more minutes I turned around and left. Great service and awesome food. I never leave there hungary always full like im gonna explode from eating to much. Its one my favorite place to eat, nice relaxfull setting even when they're super busy, they keep it cleaned an is ontop of any messes that do happen, (unlike some other places- if busy it takes forever to get your food that you ordered out, but after you get your food, 5 minutes later they're bringing the check an dont say anything to you (to me it saying hurry up an eat, we have other people waiting to be seated). Not this place, at Casey's restaurant they dont care how long your there for, they get your food out to you within a reasonable amount of time, and They'll wait on bringing your check out to you until they see your almost done eating or when they see you looking around, its they're que saying your ready to go. The Prices are reasonable an fair especially for the amount of food you get. OMG.... My boyfriend an i with go there for breakfast and ill order the same thing every time, "denver omelet with hashbrowns, 2 bacon strips, 2 sausage links, cup of brown gravy on the side, along with 2 slices of Sourdough toast." Ate at Caseys last night, had the Rib Steak, WAs one of the better restaraunt steaks I have had with the garlic mushrooms. I rate the steak better than black angus but not as good as wolf lodge. The service was good, I dont know why some others have made poor comments about this place I really liked the food and the quiet atmospehere. This is a diner and this is Roseburg, I think this is a better place than most for roseburg. I am not one for the chain foods like applebees so this is a place I will recomend. read more

So we have been Casey's fans for years with two exceptions. One was when their Cook was out for a while and they replaced him with somebody horrible. The other was three days ago. Normally our portions are great, our food is perfect and everything is great. When we went last time, the portions were half the size that it should be, they did not have hashbrowns so they gave me home fries which were terrible. The onion in my omelette was completely raw and super strong and there was more onion in my omelette than ham. The toast was not toasted at all, it was barely even warm and it was mostly buttered bread which was soggy and disgusting. We also typically replace a side of bread for a biscuit and gravy which we are usually not charged for because we are regulars and give them a substantial amount of money annually but this time we were charged quite a bit for the substitution and not even given any credit for what we were substituting just had to pay full price for it. Not happy. I don't know if their cook is gone for good or just out again like before but if the Cook they have now is replacing the old one we won't be back and we will make sure everybody we know knows that too. Sorry Casey's, we love you, we love your commitment to community and not being sucked in by the Covid but you have to understand that we are paying customers and deserve and expect what we normally get when we're there. If you can't provide that for us, instead of increasing the prices, you need to reduce the prices. The prices have been increased substantially. read more

We love finding a good family owned diner, but were very disappointed. Travelers beware-A lot of the guests were regulars and seem happy with the food. They are probably the ones posting the good reviews. My husbands country fried steak had more gravy than steak and was awful (ground beef, tasteless gravy, under seasoned, tough to chew). Green beans were canned. French fries were frozen and heated up. I ordered blackberry pie and got blueberry instead. Tasted like canned filling. Vegetables way overdone in soup. The salad bar was pretty random variety - Fake crab meat, various vegetable salads covered in mayo, fake cheese, iceberg lettuce, etc. The pancake my daughter had was good, though. I fly into a bunch of small towns throughout Oregon. I always try to find local diners. This place was absolutely outstanding. The food was all homemade. The wait staff was very attentive. This is what it is, a nice little out of the way place in a nice little out of the way town. My dad loved his oyster omelette, otherwise known as a hang-town frye, stating it was better than the one he got in Placerville where they were invented. They know how to do Blueberry Pankakes well and their dinners were good and reasonably priced. Their pies are homemade and vary from Peanut Butter Pie, to Fresh Marion Berry, and Fresh Strawberry; very nice, I brought home a fresh made pie to my neighbors for watching my house during a family emergency for 13 bucks. read more

Since we are moving to Roseburg, we're trying to find the hub places in town. We ate breakfast here Aug. 3. We waited 15 minutes for a waitress to take our order. During this 15 minutes, 3 people came in and sat at the next table, ordered and received their breakfast. They were finished by the time we were finally served. This is an extreme pet peeve with us. Most times, if a waiter does not take our order within 5 minutes we take a hike to the next restaurant, but for some reason we stuck it out. Never again. BEWARE OF THE RUDE MANAGER AT CASEY'S RESTAURANT ON GARDEN VALLEY IN ROSEBURG! Casey's Restaurant on Garden Valley in Roseburg. Since we have moved here, we have been trying several places to enjoy a good meal and have found many. We happened to stop by Casey's for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised that the breakfast and the service was really great. We went back a few times for lunch and again found it pleasant with the food ordered very good. Today, we went for lunch again. It was really crowded (good sign, huh?) and were given a table that was near the window for 2. After waiting a little longer than we have before, the waitress came up and took our order. I ordered a sandwich and a trip to the salad bar (the last time I was there it looked really good so I wanted it today). A very small plate was brought to me (maybe a 6" plate) as it was the $4.95 portion of the salad bar. As I approached the bar, it didn't look as good as it did the first time, however I filled it with salad stuff and ranch dressing. It was really good. However, I do not like to mix my salad with cottage cheese, jellos and peach slices, so I asked the waitress for another plate so I can get the rest of what I wanted from the salad bar. She said she could not do that and that the small plate should be used for all of the food I wanted at one time. I explained to her that I did not want my salad mixed with the other stuff I mentioned above. So, I told her to charge me for the larger salad (9.95 i think) so I could finish my salad bar trip. I understand they were really busy so she was running around serving, taking orders, etc. She never came back to see if we needed anything else, I had to ask another waitress for our drinks, who happened to be the owner (very nice older woman). I explained to her what had happened and she understood and told me to bring her the bill when we were through and she would take care of it. Satisfied, we finished our meal - we were never asked if we needed anything else, I wanted more napkins however did not get the opportunity to do so as the waitress never came back to our table. I had to ask another waitress to bring our drinks. Her demeanor and attitude is not one that a manager should have. When she brought the bill (finally), she said she had talked to the owner and that the bill would remain with the 9.95 charge as opposed to what the owner told me. I asked if I could see her and of course, she conveniently had left. I think she (the manager - now I wish I got her name) intimidated the owner to charge me the full price. I also told her she was rude and she replied "really, I have never been told that before." That's surprising. I don't think that giving me another plate to get the other items I wanted was going to bankrupt the business. I will probably go back however will refuse to sit at any table she serves. I was a manager with the Federal government for many years and I never treated a customer as she treated us, and I taught my employees that the customer is always right. When running any kind of business, customers should be provided the satisfaction they need to keep a positive opinion and want to go back. This "manager" should not be managing anything if she can not at least treat all with some respect. I was really tempted to only pay the 4.95 fee for the salad trip, however I do have a conscious and have to sleep at night. My main complaint was how we were treated. The food is really good. The one star rating is for the rude "manager" of this place. read more

Flew into Oregon from Southern California for a quick business meeting, which took place over lunch at Casey's. Our server Misty was over the top. Her natural smile and cheerful attitude actually made the two hour meeting seem way too short. She greeted us right away, provided everything we needed, and maybe most importantly, checked in on us just enough to let us know she was there without interrupting the flow of the meeting. She made a couple of great suggestions during our visit. My Chef Salad was not only delicious but HUGE. So it not only made a great lunch, but a great dinner that day as well. My son and I had lunch here and it was pretty good. He had an amazing hamburger and I had the philly cheese steak. It was good, but nothing to write home about it. The atmosphere was very noisy but clean. I wasn't impressed by the service really. I turned around and looked over my shoulder and saw the waitress eating something with her fingers as she was cleaning tables. Very unprofessional.
