Casino Pauma is a smaller local casino. They have higher odds than some neighboring casinos. We did not spend the night so I can't rate the hotel rooms. The casino has a decent rewards program - the first time you sign up you receive $20 towards food credit and any money you spend that day up to $500- will be refunded in rewards on the next couple of weeks. We tried the Surf & Turf buffet normally $46.99 on Fridays. With our $20 off per person it was not bad price wise. The pros for the buffet - there is no time limit. One group had been there over 4 hours. The food is all you can eat except for the lobster. We were given 2 tickets for our allotted 2 lobster tails. The buffet has all the necessary elements for my kids. Pasta, potatoes, and a variety of protein options (chicken, fish, & steak). The crab was served hot and cold. Unfortunately the lobster was overcooked. Also the steak (not the prime rib) was cooked very well done. Not edible. Lastly the brownies were dry. This is not a buffet I would rush back to. Rewards members can get a discount but I still don't think it is worth the price.

Pauma Casino Review - A Fun and Welcoming First-Time Experience For my birthday (my boyfriend's birthday) we decided to check out Pauma Casino for a day of gambling, and it turned out to be a great choice! From the moment we arrived, the experience was enjoyable, welcoming, and perfect for new players like me. One of the first things we loved was the free parking and the beautiful view of orange trees surrounding the casino--it gave the place a peaceful, scenic vibe before heading inside. As new members, we received $20 in food and beverage credit after signing up for a players card, which was more than enough for a great meal. We ordered the BBQ pizza and the chicken avocado salad, and both were absolutely delicious! Plus, we had enough left over for a dessert, making it a fantastic deal. The casino itself is a small, open square layout, with table games in the back and a good mix of slot machines. We noticed that the table minimums were very affordable in the morning at just $5, which is perfect for beginners, and by noon, they went up to $15. This is an 18+ casino, so we saw quite a few younger players, but the staff and dealers were patient and welcoming, making it a great place to learn table games. I played blackjack for the first time here and had an amazing experience! The atmosphere was friendly, and I never felt intimidated as a new player. Another highlight was stumbling across some vintage penny slots, which were definitely a hidden gem! While I can only speak for my first-time visit and just coming to play, Pauma Casino was fun, clean, and the perfect environment to learn tables. If you're looking for a relaxed, affordable casino with great food perks and a welcoming vibe, I'd definitely recommend checking it out! We will definitely be back!

I love casino pauma. I'm not yet old enough to hit up the 21+ casinos, so Pauma and Morongo are the only options at the moment. The review is based on interior, service and food, not how much I lose when I go LOL. I love the food, they always give free food and table promotions when I go, and the dealers and pit bosses always know me by name. My favorite 18+ casino, and I go at least once every few months!! Good for learning how to play table games and new to gambling as they have $5 table games from 10-4 everyday!!

Pauma is one of the smaller casinos in the area but it is still a great place to go. The floor seems pretty spacious than other casinos and they have good food options. I come here for the cheap Steak and Eggs (currently $8.99). It is a pretty hearty meal for under $10. I definately recommend coming for brrakfast and staying to gamble.

Our favorite destination! My wife love this casino !

I like this casino place because they allowed 18 year old and older to gamble to play at the casino, I won four hundreds like twice I'm very lucky, I had a great time at the casino to enjoy relaxing playing the casino slot machines, I will always pass by here..

Casino Pauma has some of loosest slots in Southern California. On the weekends they have live music or a DJ for entertainment. On Fridays they have a surf & turf buffet for $39.99. All you can eat crab legs, 2 lobster tails and many other choices like brisket and oysters. My only complaint is sometimes the lobster tails over cooked and get rubbery. I recommend getting their early on Fridays as the Buffett runs out of lobster and crab legs. From 7a-11a daily Pauma has $8.99 steak and eggs deal.

Small casino great staff plenty of gaming room & machines & some table games, weekend entertainment & two restaurants & snack bar. We visit monthly and enjoy it.

This hidden gem is smack dab in between two larger casinos/resorts. Yes, this place doesn't have a hotel but it still provides tons of frills. The laid back vibe is what I like. Yes, their minimums are low but does it matter if you're betting Max!? Parking is always easy. With tons of slot and video poker machines, you're certain to find something to tickle your fancy. Not into machines!? No problem, they have a handful of table games available but it depends on the time of day you visit as they are seldom ever fully open due to staff shortages related to the pandemic. I've found that all the dealers are super friendly and welcoming. Once you get to know each and every one of them, they treat you well. Win, lose or draw - this place earns my patronage. Remember to tip well. That includes the bartenders, cocktail waitresses, servers at the restaurants and dealers! It's 2022, life isn't getting any cheaper and neither should you. All you need is a chip and a chair! Maybe I'll see you here?

Too far too drive, too little things to do, I didn't win much here either, their shuttle buses had stopped all the service to pick up people from other areas in San Diego, your best bet is to drive here, surprisingly they still able to survive, but if it's your first time you get some deals on food like the $20 dining credits and $500 refundable plays if you willing to spend that much on any games

    Worst customer relation service.
    Riff R.

It's a small casino and they have the breakfast special for $8 99. I always come here whenever I'm around. The Cafe waitress, this one is really the worst. It's making the casino looks bad. This lady is rude and don't care about the service. Making the rest of the service crew look bad because of one bad apple.

Steak & eggs breakfast price was raised from $8.99 to $9.99 on May 7, 2025.

We started with a hearty breakfast and coffee at Pala Cafe, which was awesome. The staff here is super friendly and stepped in to help whenever we looked lost. A hotel guest even went out of her way to tell us how much she loved her room stay. Game-wise, they have a good variety from penny slots to high rollers, plus a great mix of classic machines. Like any casino, the slots are hit-or-miss; some pay out a bit, others are tight. Although there's a smoke-free area, the smell lingers so I did see some people wearing masks due to the smell. We loved the outdoor patio with umbrella tables for a quick breather. Overall, we had a fun experience and will definitely be back!

It took more than a week to get the issue resolved. Unfortunately, my family visited again this past weekend (June 4-7, 2026) and experienced another problem. This time, we were charged at a restaurant and sports bar that we never visited. As of today, no one from the casino has contacted us to apologize or make things right. We've spent hours on the phone with both our bank and the casino, with no meaningful resolution other than having to cancel our credit cards ourselves to prevent the charges from going through. We are extremely disappointed. Our family has been coming to Pala for more than 25 years, and it's upsetting to experience these issues. If these unauthorized charges are happening to other patrons as well, that is very concerning. What a shame to see a place we've enjoyed for so many years leave us feeling this way.

Room: We stayed in a Premium King room in the Dive Inn Tower. The view of the pool area was fantastic. The room was clean and I love that even though it doesn't have an actual balcony, it has a sliding glass door that opens so you can get lots of fresh air. The room rate was reasonable using the Caesar's Rewards app. Food (not including Hell's Kitchen): food options are limited. There are currently two full service restaurants that are in the process of rebranding. This leaves current food options limited to fast food, Chinese food, and pool food. There is a cafe, which we ate at once, and it also falls under the one star category. Hell's Kitchen: Definitely worth the splurge! Food and service were impeccable. We enjoyed our meal very much. (Reviewed Hell's Kitchen separately. Night life: Not a destination for night life. There was a band that played one of the nights, but it was not really our jam. Casino: As far as casinos go, it was fine. We are not gamblers, but we threw a few $$ in a video blackjack game. Casino is very smoky. Pool area: This is definitely a highlight and was the main reason for us choosing Harrah's. There is a swim up bar and a large adult only pool. Kids are allowed at the lazy river portion so that area gets super crowded. But it's a fun vibe. We appreciated that the rest of the pool area is adults only (21+) and the staff were on top of running kids out. Adequate chairs and umbrellas for shade. It was in the 90's when we were there, which was just perfect. Overall, a nice destination especially if you are wanting some R&R pool time.

They used to have a simple, perfectly fine system where you could call in and put your name on the board for poker games. Easy. Convenient. Player-friendly. Now? That's gone. Some people don't trust giving random third-party apps access to their phone. And believe it or not, some people *don't even have smartphones*. So what, those players just don't matter anymore? That's not innovation--that's exclusion. If you want to OFFER an app, great. Give people options. But completely removing the ability to call in is just lazy and tone-deaf. It shows zero consideration for your actual customer base. And this isn't the first time management has ignored players. The chip color change on the 4/8 table from blue to pink? Almost nobody liked it. Players spoke up. And just like now--nothing. No listening, no adjustments, no care.
