Casino Pauma is one of the many casinos in the area! There are a couple of things to know before visiting. It's one of the smaller casinos, it does not have a hotel, and it has a variety of dining options. Also, yes, this casino does smell like cigarettes inside, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to smoke. During my multiple visits to Casino Pauma, I've noticed that quite a few slot machines are broken, out of order, or have buttons that don't respond when pressed. That can definitely be frustrating. However, I will say that they have some great promotions, and they also offer live shows and entertainment! They send you free play in the mail after each visit when you lose, and you get $20 in food when you sign up for a Players Card. They do not tier match. I've also attended one of their drawings for a brand-new Ford Mustang, which was pretty fun. They regularly have live music and shows as well. And yes, the machines do pay out sometimes! They have a very small table-games pit with just a couple of tables. They offer $5 blackjack, which is nice if you're looking for a cheaper table game. There is no poker room. They also have a very small high-limit room, but it's machines only -- no high-limit tables. I've noticed that a lot of the machines are on the older side, but they do have some of the latest and more popular games. The casino can get pretty crowded on some nights, so be prepared to wait for a machine. There's also an open bar where they sometimes have live music, along with a small dance floor. I've noticed that Casino Pauma really does try to offer its guests a lot of fun promotions, events, and entertainment, which I appreciate. If you're in the area, I'd definitely give it a try and test your luck. Keep in mind that the casino is located in Pauma Valley off Highway 76, so it's somewhat off the beaten path. However, it's located between Pala Casino and Harrah's Resort Southern California, so if you get tired of Casino Pauma, you have other casino options just down the road. The food is good and the service is decent. Sometimes security can be a little annoying and may ask you to identify yourself. When they do, they'll bring you to the front desk, but they won't watch your machine for you while you're gone. Overall, Casino Pauma definitely has its issues, especially with some of the older and broken machines, but they offer a lot of good promotions and entertainment. Casino Pauma is a smaller local casino. They have higher odds than some neighboring casinos. We did not spend the night so I can't rate the hotel rooms. The casino has a decent rewards program - the first time you sign up you receive $20 towards food credit and any money you spend that day up to $500- will be refunded in rewards on the next couple of weeks. We tried the Surf & Turf buffet normally $46.99 on Fridays. With our $20 off per person it was not bad price wise. The pros for the buffet - there is no time limit. One group had been there over 4 hours. The food is all you can eat except for the lobster. We were given 2 tickets for our allotted 2 lobster tails. The buffet has all the necessary elements for my kids. Pasta, potatoes, and a variety of protein options (chicken, fish, & steak). The crab was served hot and cold. Unfortunately the lobster was overcooked. Also the steak (not the prime rib) was cooked very well done. Not edible. Lastly the brownies were dry. This is not a buffet I would rush back to. I love casino pauma. I'm not yet old enough to hit up the 21+ casinos, so Pauma and Morongo are the only options at the moment. The review is based on interior, service and food, not how much I lose when I go LOL. I love the food, they always give free food and table promotions when I go, and the dealers and pit bosses always know me by name. My favorite 18+ casino, and I go at least once every few months!! We have been going to the casino for 25 years at least. We used to sit at the Parrot bar and gamble. But recently we went and they had changed the bar stools. The bar stools did not have enough padding and had a bad angle to them!!! The bar stools hurt our lower backs!!! We were not the only people that felt this way!!! This is a great little Casino. This review was a about the deli & pizzeria. First, the SALADS are AMAZING. They use a huge variety of fresh ingredients! The lettuce is the nutritious leafy greens. Not ice berg. There's fresh corn and at least 2 whole squash in the green salad. Plus candies nuts and cubed ham and Turkey! He other salad I had a generous helping of bleu cheese (maybe a tad much for my taste) plus a potato salad and half and avacado and real chicken breast!! Very reasonable price at $12 since the salads are generous servings. I also had the jackpot pizza on cauliflower crust. REALLY GOOD and a very nice size. Casino Pauma has some of loosest slots in Southern California. On the weekends they have live music or a DJ for entertainment. On Fridays they have a surf & turf buffet for $39.99. All you can eat crab legs, 2 lobster tails and many other choices like brisket and oysters. My only complaint is sometimes the lobster tails over cooked and get rubbery. I recommend getting their early on Fridays as the Buffett runs out of lobster and crab legs. From 7a-11a daily Pauma has $8.99 steak and eggs deal. read more

This hidden gem is smack dab in between two larger casinos/resorts. Yes, this place doesn't have a hotel but it still provides tons of frills. The laid back vibe is what I like. Yes, their minimums are low but does it matter if you're betting Max!? Parking is always easy. With tons of slot and video poker machines, you're certain to find something to tickle your fancy. No problem, they have a handful of table games available but it depends on the time of day you visit as they are seldom ever fully open due to staff shortages related to the pandemic. Time for an updated review. First, whoever voted that Casino Pauma has the loosest slots owes me money! (Just kidding - slots is all about chance, you will always lose more than you win so reviewers who complain about tight slots just haven't been lucky,) Honestly, this place hasn't changed much over the years. It's still in a tent with a couple of buildings attached so don't expect a "Las Vegas" feel. Valet was closed when we visited, but it's not that far to walk from the parking lot. They have a great selection of new versus older machines, especially if you like Buffalo. Older machines are spread around the casino floor, but there is a lot on the far right-hand side of the building, including video poker. The employees are hit and miss. My gambling partner and I had to get new players' cards but we each had a different experience at the counter. Mine was very "get to the point, get your card, goodbye". My partner had a guy who was super helpful, provided advice, and gave him 2 cards anticipating he'll lose one at one point, which we all do when we walk away from a machine without remembering to remove it. Can hardly believe this casino has remained totally unchanged for the last 20+ years. It doesn't seem they will ever build a hotel here. So what do they offer? All kinds of free gifts that you may never open or use, free play, and food credits that can be difficult/inconvenient to use. Well, since the Pauma Bay cafe is the only dining option till 4pm weekdays, just come in the morning between 7-11am and get the ongoing $6.99 steak & eggs deal which is probably the best value in the county. For real. Don't order anything with pancakes, we experienced them chewy and tasteless. And an odd cinnamon flavor. Just come for the steak & eggs and you'll see. The deli/pizza snack bar place actually had very good Hebrew National big hot dogs and above average personal pizzas. Too bad they don't open till 4pm on weekdays which is an issue for those using food credit comps if you're there earlier. Other than that, this little place has less than others in the area to offer, but for some odd reason I don't mind coming periodically. They have weird policies/restrictions like activating your players card before using food credits, smoking is ok but no vapes allowed, and the free gift offers start at 12 noon. If we come here, it's because we are going to Harrahs also to use free play over there. It is one of only 2 casinos in the county-(Barona is the other)that has the lower 18 year old minimum age requirement. So my kid can go, but come January she'll be 21 regardless. Lunch could not be more perfect with the farm to table he is bringing to the Casino. The best fish and chips! No grease on the plate or on the fish and it was perfectly cooked inside and out. Orange juice squeezed from oranges that were just picked "literally" and then he made us an amazing lobster plate. We appreciated that a Executive Chef would spend so much time making sure we were taken care of and explaining the exciting new things coming to the Casino with a Farm to table menu, using the local farms around the casino. It's nice but it is in the middle of no where. Parking was super easy, casino is small and not super crowded. But it's nice to just visit different casinos every once in a while.
