As soon as I arrived, I noticed the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. One of the first things that stood out was the large salad bar. Everything was fresh, well-stocked, and delicious. The best part is that it's only an additional $5.99 when you order a meal, which is definitely worth it. I sat at the bar and asked the bartender what she recommended. Without hesitation, she suggested the prime rib, and I'm glad I listened because she did not disappoint. I've tried prime rib at many different restaurants, and this was by far one of the best I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. This is one of the Inland Empire's treasures. Not too many old-school places left, but Cask 'n Cleaver still shines - and with good reason. I kept my order simple. I wanted to also include the salad bar, so chose the Steak Kebob. Most places which offer such an entree offer it with lesser cuts of beef. Not here; quality cuts through-and-through. Tender beef, cooked as-ordered. The salad bar, something becoming rarer, was extensive in variety, and fresh in quality. (Did my eyes deceive me; were those real bacon bits?) Went on a Thursday night recently for a birthday celebration. Food was wonderful - steaks all cooked as ordered and super yummy. Sides were great. Love their balsamic salad dressing. The corn chowder was so good! The steak kabobs were tasty but the mashed potatoes that were with it were very much so room temperature. And the other baked potatoes on the table weren't necessarily hot. We ordered our steaks to medium. But 2 of them came out medium rare. We had a family party here. The food is pretty good. We had the sirloin steak, which was really thick and cooked to medium rare as we specified.. I think I would've preferred the New York strip cutting instead. We also got the lobster tail, which was delicious.. The baked potato was followed with sour cream, butter and chives. I would avoid the add-on mushrooms for the steak, they seemed overcooked and not fresh. The salad bar is pretty good with a lot of different selections . Came for a gathering of kings fans, restaurant is large and can accommodate all sizes of parties. The staff is super friendly and the bar staff were very nice. We ordered steak tips, they had the option of bbq or teriyaki. We ordered bbq and it was really good server dropped off rolls and bread that were tasty. Cast' n Cleaver is well-known for their steaks, and they definitely delivered. I ordered the filet mignon, and it was incredibly tender. The 8 oz portion was a great size, and it was cooked perfectly. My asparagus was good, though I personally prefer the thinner spears and a bit more seasoning. My son ordered the salad bar with his steak, and he truly enjoyed everything. My husband got the filet mignon with a baked potato, and he loved his meal--he cleaned his plate! He also ordered the lemon cake for dessert and said it was delicious. The restaurant itself has a cozy, older-cabin feel. We recently celebrated my husband's 40th birthday at Cask N Cleaver, and overall had a great experience! The food was very good, especially the steak--it was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The prices were also really reasonable, which was a nice surprise for a steakhouse. I also loved that they have a salad bar, which adds a nice touch and gives you more variety. My only complaint was the service speed. It seemed like a busy night, so I want to give some grace there, but it did take a very long time for our food to come out--to the point where we were starting to wonder if our order had been forgotten. The ambience of this place is fantastic. There was a gorgeous garden with water fountain out our window. With the hunter green and brown motif and galley chairs, I felt like I was back in the 80s. The salad bar is a huge throwback until you eat it. Every single item is peak freshness and hand made... the eggs, carrots, onions, Freshly made potato salad, dressings including house made Thousand Island and Honey Mustard. I got the all you can eat with my dinner. I was very impressed. For entrees we had the 10 Oz Prime Rib and the teriyaki mixed grill. My sweetheart said the Prime rib was over and next time he would have a steak. I was blown away by the teriyaki steak kabob which was perfectly medium rare like I asked for and was delicious. The dried shrimp were ok but I would pass next time. The chicken came with a slice of grilled teriyaki. I had to take the chicken and my baked potato home. It was so much food for me. The flavors and ambience were outstanding to me. It is great to have a home grown family owned casual dining restaurant right in my neighborhood. I felt I was worlds away. INSANE. I was honestly skeptical walking in because many older restaurants don't keep up with the times, but Cask n Cleaver absolutely delivers. We haven't been here in about 5 years. We came here for lunch last week which is a first. Unfortunately for us, they're only open for lunch on the weekdays, Monday to Friday from 11:30am to 2:00pm. We both work. We've only eaten here one other time for dinner so it was definitely a different experience coming during the day. I made a reservation through Open Table as I didn't know if they would be busy or not. When we arrived they had our reservation on file and seated us right away by the window. I was surprised that other people were already arriving as well. I still love the old school feel and ambiance. We literally just came for the salad bar because we hadn't tried it before. I ordered the Salad Bar & Bottomless Soup at $13.95 and my husband got the Salad Bar with the 1/2 Sandwich (he picked turkey) at $14.95. We both ordered drinks, an iced tea and Coke at $3.95 each. Our total with tax came out to $39.65. Anyway, I got one of each soup; the clam chowder and tomato bisque. Their fresh bread is also amazing which went so well with my soup. The salad bar had fresh ingredients and also fresh fruit. We also received great service. Multiple people checking up on us, providing refills for our drinks, and taking away our plates. As we were leaving, the restaurant had a decent amount of customers inside. I asked my husband if he enjoyed his meal and he did. I've been kind of a salad fiend lately with the hot weather and whatnot, so when I found out that this place has a salad bar only option that includes fresh table bread, I thought I had to go try it at least once. I was also looking forward to trying the bottomless soup, but the soup of the day was meat based so I stuck with the salad bar only this time. It was empty at dinner time and service was very prompt. I loved the fresh bread. It came out slightly warm, but didn't stay that way for longer than a minute unfortunately as the A/C was blasting all night long. There is a sweet brown loaf and a sourdough. Both were so good and fluffy, but I think I was partial to the sourdough. The salad bar was small but had enough of a variety of fixings that I was satisfied. Definitely nothing special about it though. The potato salad was really good! The pasta salad was alright but bland. There's a small variety of fruit and a rice pudding available at the salad bar as well, but I didn't try any this time. Overall, the bread was my favorite part. I probably wouldn't do this again, but for the price and convenience it was a fine experience. read more

Last few times I've been here I've been noticing the quality of meat has not been good, also they haven't been able how to figure out how to cook a steak medium rare. Tonight my ribeye was as thin as a breakfast steak and way over cooked. I ordered it rare it came back medium. When i ordered I mentioned to the waitress to make sure it's rare she smirked with an attitude. When it came overcooked I asked her take it back, don't try again, take it off the bill. My girlfriend's was well done, she ordered medium, my aunt and uncle's halibut was very over cooked and dry! I hate to post this but it was bad. Especially for a steak house who claims their expertise is cooking steaks. Our cocktails took forever and when they arrived at the table they were no longer cold. Not everything was substandard. My family was so upset when the Cask & Cleaver closed down in San Dimas because it was our go to place for Mother's Day and birthdays. Last week when I was supposed to choose a place to celebrate my birthday it was suggested that we go to Cask & Cleaver in Rancho, I didn't even know it existed. It was like finding an old friend! The service was as good as the food, so great!! We will be back!! My only disappointment is that I ordered a "traditional lime daiquiri" and after the server came back multiple times with questions about how I wanted it (rather than the bartender simply looking it up on the internet), I was so disappointed when I received something that resembled a margarita in a water glass. Went in tonight, just my toddler daughter and me. They sat us in a secluded booth in the back, which was welcomed, as my toddler can get a little restless. There was a garden waterfall view, which my daughter loved, and we were set up with a coloring page along with some books we brought. I was nervous about going into a steakhouse with a toddler, but now I'm going to request this table, as she was so happy there (and my nerves weren't on edge). Service-wise, Paris was INCREDIBLE. I tend to get a lot of ho-hums when it's just the two of us, but she treated us with what I imagine is her standard for any table. We came in on a Sunday night and there were only 3 couples in the entire bar area, with no one actually sitting at the bar. This place has been here for a long time, but I finally got the chance to try it out. On a Saturday night, it was pretty packed, so it's a chance you might not be able to grab a table without a reservation since it was a full house. We waited for about 10 minutes and were seated quickly. We met our friendly waitress who helped us with our orders and was able to answer any questions we had about the menu. The dining area feels pretty close to the other seats, but there is definitely a lot of seating to go around. It was very busy and had a good volume to the noise around us. We ordered the mammoth chicken, button mushroom appetizer, ribeye with mashed potatoes, and a prime rib with rice pilaf. Overall, the chicken felt a bit overcooked and wasn't a great experience since it was dry and a bit hard. The ribeye was cooked to medium and was a good flavor overall. The prime rib was cooked to medium rare and is spot on with the flavor and texture. The dishes are from least to most tasty and I'd recommend the prime rib for visitors, especially for the price since it was around $30-40 for the prime rib. This price is crazy to me with how good it was. Overall, this is a great place to visit for a steak/prime rib for celebration dinners or special occasions.
