Came for a gathering of kings fans, restaurant is large and can accommodate all sizes of parties. The staff is super friendly and the bar staff were very nice. We ordered steak tips, they had the option of bbq or teriyaki. We ordered bbq and it was really good server dropped off rolls and bread that were tasty. The bar area has a lot of TVs to show sports games. Friend had ordered their salad bar and it was a solid price for a salad bar.

Always enjoyable. We frequent here often. 1st go to place for steaks. Service is awesome. Everyone is welcoming. Decor takes you back and that's okay. Relaxing and inviting atmosphere. TY C&C!

Ambiance gorgeous garden with water fountain out our window.

The ambience of this place is fantastic. There was a gorgeous garden with water fountain out our window. With the hunter green and brown motif and galley chairs, I felt like I was back in the 80s. The salad bar is a huge throwback until you eat it. Every single item is peak freshness and hand made... the eggs, carrots, onions, Freshly made potato salad, dressings including house made Thousand Island and Honey Mustard. I got the all you can eat with my dinner. I was very impressed. For entrees we had the 10 Oz Prime Rib and the teriyaki mixed grill. My sweetheart said the Prime rib was over and next time he would have a steak. I was blown away by the teriyaki steak kabob which was perfectly medium rare like I asked for and was delicious. The dried shrimp were ok but I would pass next time. The chicken came with a slice of grilled teriyaki. I had to take the chicken and my baked potato home. It was so much food for me. The flavors and ambience were outstanding to me. It is great to have a home grown family owned casual dining restaurant right in my neighborhood. I felt I was worlds away. After dinner I enjoyed walking around and exploring the garden. I had initially eyed the mint chip mud pie but it will have to wait for next time.

    My daughter loves the rolls!

This place always hits the spot!! I love their All you can eat salad bar, it is so fresh and affordable! All of the staff is very friendly and great with our kids. I love the rustic look that makes you feel like you're in a cabin or up in the mountains. We go here at least twice a month.

We haven't been here in about 5 years. We came here for lunch last week which is a first. Unfortunately for us, they're only open for lunch on the weekdays, Monday to Friday from 11:30am to 2:00pm. We both work. We've only eaten here one other time for dinner so it was definitely a different experience coming during the day. I made a reservation through Open Table as I didn't know if they would be busy or not. When we arrived they had our reservation on file and seated us right away by the window. I was surprised that other people were already arriving as well. I still love the old school feel and ambiance. We literally just came for the salad bar because we hadn't tried it before. I ordered the Salad Bar & Bottomless Soup at $13.95 and my husband got the Salad Bar with the 1/2 Sandwich (he picked turkey) at $14.95. We both ordered drinks, an iced tea and Coke at $3.95 each. Our total with tax came out to $39.65. Anyway, I got one of each soup; the clam chowder and tomato bisque. Their fresh bread is also amazing which went so well with my soup. The salad bar had fresh ingredients and also fresh fruit. We also received great service. Multiple people checking up on us, providing refills for our drinks, and taking away our plates. As we were leaving, the restaurant had a decent amount of customers inside. I asked my husband if he enjoyed his meal and he did. He said the next time we return is probably going to be for dinner again and he'd order a steak.

Ask the Community - Cask 'n Cleaver Steakhouse

    Is there a kids' menu?

Yes. I don't recall all the options but I have 5 grandkids and we've not had any trouble satisfying their wants or appetite.

Is their all you can eat salad bar back to being open?

Yes, salad bar is open and as good as ever!

Do they have heaters for patio dining?

Yes, but not enough for all diners. We made a reservation which included a table-side heater.

What is the soup of the day menu?

Only one per day. Corn chowder, minestrone, and chicken noodle are the ones I've been there for.

Do they happily accept the loyalty card from DinePal?

Yes! They have done the cards for 16 years. The staff even recommends the card to customers as well#

To my taste, this is by far the best Star Crab location I've been to…read more The owner and staff were genuinely friendly and helpful from start to finish, which already sets the tone. The flavor and seafood were absolutely on point. My group of five ordered the Snow Star Family Bucket with Full House sauce, and everything came out fresh, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. Portions were solid and we all left very full and very satisfied. If I had to nitpick: The mild Full House sauce was a little spicy for something labeled "mild." Still tasty, just a heads-up for anyone sensitive to heat. The fried calamari was good flavor-wise, but it was a bit light on calamari and heavy on fries. Small side note: my wife and I love having boiled eggs with our seafood boil, but unfortunately they don't offer boiled eggs here. Not a deal-breaker, just something we personally missed. Overall though, great food, great service, and a spot I'd happily come back to again. Easily our favorite Star Crab so far.

We were seated right…read moreaway, but they initially placed us at a table in the middle that was too small for our group of six, so we requested a booth along the wall instead. They provided us menus, pretty straightforward; choose seafood, add sides for an extra cost, choose the flavor, and the spice level. One thing not noted on the menu is that shrimp isn't peeled, but they can peel them for an extra $6. And each order comes in pound increments. No half a pound offered. Your table is also covered with paper so you can eat the seafood boil from there. They provide bibs and gloves for no charge. Ultimately, we enjoyed our meals. Everything was flavorful and, unlike some other seafood boil spots, it didn't leave us feeling like we had heartburn afterward. There's a little sink for you to clean your hands at, which is nice since you dont have to wait for the restroom to empty. The service is what was a bit off. Like we asked for 3 Cajun fry boats but only received 2. Drinks were mixed up, and the clam chowder didn't arrive until about 20 minutes after our seafood bags had already been delivered. If you want ranch for your fries, they charge 60 cents for a small container. For drink refills, they bring a pitcher, but it's the kind typically used for measuring ounces. The server also tended to reach across one end of the table to grab empty cups or pass out food. Since I was seated at the end, it felt awkward having to help pass things down, especially since there were other access points to reach people in our party. We left around 920pm. I only mention it because we were the last group there, and we all noticed the heater seemed to have been turned on. Restaurant sign says open til 10pm on Sat. but we saw them turn off their open sign when we went outside. Needless to say, service could have been better.

The place was pretty empty, yet the service was still very slow .To be fair, there was only one girl handling everything!! seating guests, taking orders, and serving food, while another man would occasionally come by to drop something off and then disappear. The food was the biggest letdown. The sauce was extremely dark, thick, and bland, with abt 6 large bay leaves in it. It also had a very bitter taste that overpowered everything. On top of that, the menu is very limited, only two combo options. If you want crab and shrimp together, you're forced to buy them separately, and it's not cheap The only upside was that they had a deal where if you spend over $70 before tax, you get a free item from a selected list. Also, the crab meat and shrimp themselves were very meaty and fresh, which is the main reason I'm giving this place two stars instead of one. Overall, I wouldn't return. The food , service and price just weren't worth it.

And I thought I'd try a taco since they looked good on the Yelp reviews. I ordered a fish taco. When I got my food, the taco was massive with tons of cabbage piled on, topped with a lot of crème and some salsa. But I liked it cos most places dont even put enough of it. When I bit into it, I was wondering why there were pieces and thought they cut up the fish (?) only to realize it was shrimp. The waitress must have misheard me when I ordered fish taco and gave me a shrimp taco. But I'm not complaining cos it was delicious. The shrimp was lighty battered, so you get the taste of the shrimp right away. You also get a slight crunch from the shrimp and it pairs well with the cabbage and sauce. This is a definite must order if you're craving tacos. Before I ate my taco, I made sure to put some lime on my ceviche to "cook" it a little bit with the acid because the shrimp is a little too "raw" for my liking. It also comes with tostada chips / shells. And I was also given a bottle of crema, hot sauce (?) and some sort of brown sauce (sorry I dont know what this is called but it's delicious!). Halfway thru my meal, I noticed the gentleman was served those Mexican pinwheel shaped chips. As I was paying, I asked the lady what he was eating. She said they're called chicharones de harina. I asked her if it's free or he ordered it. She said it's free and asked me if I wanted some to go. Service needs some improvement. Although the waitress did check on me from time to time, she never asked me for a water refill - and clearly my cup was empty. Also when I arrived, why was I not offered the chicharrones de harina and the gentleman in front of me got some right when he arrived. The ambiance was chill and quiet. There are 4 Tabs which I'm sure this place gets busy on game days. Definitely a place to check out for the ceviche.

When we first walked in, the place looked empty, and my wife and I almost considered leaving. Just as we were about to head out, a server came over, seated us, and explained the menu. The $45 menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes such as escargot (ốc), pho, and bò né (Vietnamese sizzling beef steak), among many others. We ordered escargot with tamarind sauce, oysters with cheese, a lobster special, rau muống (water spinach) with garlic, glass noodles, and a ribeye steak. This isn't a typical buffet--each dish is cooked to order. It took about 15 minutes since there were only two chefs, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. The lobster was a whole lobster with claws, and the ribeye was a generous cut served sizzling at the table. The portions are large, and our server kindly warned us ahead of time--we're glad we listened! The owner was friendly, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. My wife and I loved this place and will definitely be coming back. It's great to have quality Vietnamese food nearby without having to travel all the way to OC.
