Amazingly bad food. Salad was iceberg lettuce and a couple slices of unripe tomatoes. No dressing no onions, no peperoncino, no olives. The Kubideh was bland and I thought it couldn't get worse until I tried the ground chicken kubideh. Horrible taste and horrible texture. Not merely bad, horribly bad. The other reviews were right. I love Caspian.. they are so much better than Mobys Dick. The Kubideh is my favorite. I get the platter. They are very generous with portions. The rice is cooked to perfection. The salad and pita come with the entree. I always order an extra kabob because you'll have so much rice you'll definitely need it. Their lamb is good too. The older man is the owner and is always kind and humble. Their baklava is divine. Not many places can make a good baklava. Order ahead to minimize wait times. read more

I love a good persian restaurant (i think they are persian?), and this might be my error in not ordering enough, but i found their plate to be relatively lacking in variety. I ordered the lamb kabob, and it came with a skewer of a Lamb with a mound of rice and 1 grilled tomato. I would have liked to see more veggies or maybe a bit of sabzi mixed in. the lamb was fine, but not exceptional. if the lamb alone was not enough to carry the flavor load of a full plate of basmati rice with just a tomato for support. read more

We made the drive from Potomac to Germantown specifically to support Caspian, going out of our way for what we hoped would be a great experience. Unfortunately, it was anything but. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived, and our takeout order was ready on time. However, upon returning home (a 20-minute drive each way), we discovered that the kubideh kabob was undercooked--raw in some parts--and inedible. Even the cooked portions tasted bitter, like baking soda. Consuming undercooked red meat is dangerous, and this was simply unacceptable. Desperate to salvage the meal, we even tried cooking the kabob further at home to see if it would help, but it didn't. While the joojeh was fine, it didn't make up for the disaster of the kubideh. When we called to address the issue, we eventually received a return call from the owner or manager. While they apologized, they insisted we drive the kabob back to get a refund--even though we had clear pictures showing the uncooked meat. They explained this was necessary to "prove" the kitchen staff was at fault and that the refund would be deducted from their pay (!). For less than $100, we were expected to return in the rain, with guests at home waiting for food, to get a refund. This short-sighted and frankly unprofessional response from the owner ensured we will never return. Ultimately, we had to order pizza to feed our guests. The lack of accountability and customer service ruined what could have been a great experience. If you're considering Caspian, save yourself the time, effort, and frustration--we certainly wish we had. read more

I have not visited this place in well over a decade maybe longer. We decided to give it a try on my Brother's recommendation. Walking in nothing had really changed except the prices but that is everywhere these days. The gentleman taking our orders was nice and got us situated right away. The food took a few minutes to come out as it is fresh prepared not under heat lamps. I ordered the Lamb Kabob. Our food was brought out to our table and the serving size was generous. Plenty of meat, rice and bread with a nice tomato. I really enjoyed the meal, lamb was cooked perfect, the rice was delicious as was the bread and tomato. I wish I had not waited over decade to try them again. Everyone there was also very nice and the facility was clean. read more

When the food was ready from the kitchen the manager/owner was sitting in a booth on his cell phone watching videos and had his laptop open and said your food is ready on the counter, he didn't even attempt to get up. I stopped by this place for a quick lunch. I am originally from Turkey and love this kind of food. The Kubideh kebab (We al lit Kofte) was excellent. For desert I commend the delicious Baklava. Not happy at all, I asked the person who was taking the order if they had Tadig and he stated yes, and I reiterated, I do not want to order food unless there is tadig, once I arrived home I discovered that I did not have what I had requested for I called back and the gentleman on the phone was very rude and did not want to acknowledge that they had made a mistake. Ate here last week and as nice as the young man behind the counter was, this location lacks atmosphere with Formica tables and worn chairs. The food was generally good. This place used to be great, their kabobs are still pretty good, but something happened to how they prepare rice, and it's been this way for the last couple of months. Went here yesterday for dinner with my husband. The place is spotless, super clean inside and out. The service was great, the man that served us was attentive, and very friendly. I was referred to this place by my friend since a long time. I was curious to see what they have to offer. There was a huge board put right when you enter the place to let customers know the specials for every day of the week. So, I went straight in to pick up the special of the day and was disappointed with the tomato curry or sauce which contained very little chunks of beef in it. For a Kabob place, I would expect to have had good amount of meat. I felt I must have tried something else here. I will mostly come back to make sure other options are good here. read more
