The owner has gone keto and on top of a delish menu, he added cauliflower-based pizza and Palmini pasta (made of heart of palm). It is delicious and I have gone back more than once for my really low-carb, but delish dinner (not that much different than regular spaghetti (minus the bloating and the major carbs). I will be going there every time we are in the area. Obsessed and addicted. I am low-carb after losing a bunch of weight and wanting to keep it that way. I haven't had real spaghetti in years and now I can. I order the palmini, a side of 4 meatballs and my husband split the two. Their sauce is so good. This is recommended and if you like carbs--they have that too. Their caesar salad is great too. I didn't eat it, but tasted the garlic bread...YUM! Also, props to Erin, our server. She is on top of things, great, and remembered my husband and me from our ONE time visit and remembered our order and desires--even down to knowing what we ordered as drinks. Erin is amazing! Stopped in here a little after 4 with my husband and two kids. Service was great and food was amazing. Takes a little time to actually cook which isn't a bad thing and the ingridients are good quality! Absolutely will be back. I had the ravioli with a dinner salad which I loved and husband had the lasagna with sausage, it was eaten rather quickly lol. So stoked to finally figure out great pizza in SC. Everything we had at Cassano's was great including service by Erin. Started with meatball appetizer - great flavor, not greasy and needed the garlic bread to get the rest of the sauce. Nice crispy house salad with Kale and good italian dressing. Main courses - personal white pizza add artichoke, love the garlicy sauce! And calzone with pepperoni, sausage and mushroom YUM! Cool atmosphere, craft beer and baseball on TV. What a wonderful family and community-oriented restaurant. Tonight Cassano's put on a fund raiser for the young mother who was the victim of the shark attack on April 29th. They brought the community together for such a worthy cause. The pizza here is really good. The crust is, while not super thin, thinner. I have family members that are very specific and like the pizza here. The owner is really nice and runs a pretty tight ship. I always get food to go from here but I'm gonna come and watch a game and drink a beer one time. read more

You guys!.... first of all we walked up and asked to sit outside because we have a doggo and they brought him out a dog bed and some fresh water! Oh and a lite blanket for me ( I as wearing shorts like a not smart person). The costumer service here is incredible. Along with there amazing food! This place is a mess. I ordered through door dash and they got my order wrong twice, both times they got the same things wrong. Basic stuff like raviolis with no sauce came twice to our house drenched in sauce. The third time they basically threw their hands up and said sorry not sorry. No apology, no offer of credit or free items in the future. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you go in person. My family and I were in San Clemente for a couple of days for Spring Break. I asked a family member who was raised here to recommend a good pizza place. Cassanos was her choice. She was absolutely right! We had a pizza with sausage, pepperoni, olives and artichoke hearts, mozzarella sticks, chicken wings and a salad. Everything was so good and fresh. No complaints! I am very upset with this place. We have ordered for delivery many times and each time something goes wrong!!!!! Tonight I called and told them that I wanted my pizza by 7:45 when I called they told me that they only put the order in at 7:40!!! That's horrible how were we suppose to get our pizza in 5 min. This place is not run correctly and the service for delivery is very bad. The pizza is good but the service is horrible. Cassano's has been my favorite Italian restaurant since I was a kid - their peanut butter and bacon pizza is the best (next to the white pizza and classic plain cheese). I love the new decor and location - my family and I come in to watch football games because of the new bar set up. I like that they have local brewery beer too, and their wine selection goes perfectly with the fettuccine Alfredo. The owners are from Chicago and they make everyone feel right at home. We ordered a pizza to go. Pepperoni and sausage. It was a good pizza, perfect amount of toppings and cheese... But the dough is something else. I don't know what makes it just right. Not too thick, not too thin, nice chewy texture with the right amount of olive oil. Can't wait to try their calzones. read more

I was excited to try this place after hearing how great the original was down at the Pier. I have to say, I was extremely underwhelmed. We ordered a large sausage and onion. The sausage was like something found on a frozen pizza. In fact, it kinda looked like it was a cheap frozen pizza. I'm not a fan, and I won't be back. There are SOOO many other great options in town. Also, the acoustics are terrible, the noise level was off the charts, and there are only about 8 tables. The chairs are so uncomfortable, anyone bigger than a size 10 won't fit. Called in for a large pepperoni and sausage pizza. Great service on the phone as well as when I arrived to pick up. They're into what they do and you can tell. The decor is really nice and has an open feel. Very clean. The pizza was really good... Not too thick and not too thin. Great flavor to the sauce as well. Had a damned fine black olive pizza. No problems there. Waiting for well over a half an hour (after I showed up after the phone-in order) for two personal sized pizzas was not in my plans. Somehow the order was "misplaced" so they didn't even start it until I showed up and wanted to pay for it, glad I stepped up to do that. "We're sorry", yeah I get it, probably doesn't happen often, but there are too many places in this town to get really good pizza to let this happen. I think I'll cycle through a few others before I come back though, but then again what good pizza connoisseur shouldn't do that? But if you have never been, yeah its very good pizza. I'd dine in if you can, the drink staff was really nice, because frankly, I had the time to meet them. Little did I know I would have had time for a beer. Coming from an all Italian family from Brooklyn, New York I tend to be very judgmental about pizza places outside of my home area, and very seldomly do I even go out and try places that serve pizza or any form of Italian food for that matter. But if we were allowed to give some sort of NY seal of approval for pizza joints, Cassano's is definitely one of the very few I would say deserves it. Everything here is awesome, (yes I mean everything) especially their house specialty pizzas,For the amount of times I've been there I have never experienced an off day with the food or staff, it's truly great to see a business run with pride and quality service as its top priority I'd strongly recommend this place over any of the other pizza/Italian places that are found in San Clemente, none other has satisfied me like Cassano's! Tried Cassano's for the first time, and they deliver! We ordered two 6 topping large pizzas which came in at just over $49. They were delicious. Lots of large pieces of vegetables, lots of meat topping. It's a real pizza folks. The crust tastes of floured sourdough. It's good stuff, I will be going back! read more

Just got pizza and wings delivered. Did the online ordering said it would be an hour. Took about 30 minutes. Pizza was perfect and still hot. Wings were cooked perfectly and crispy. This place is like our "Cheers Bar". Every time we're here we are treated like family, we see people we know from the neighborhood. We love to come and enjoy our dinner outside on their patio. We always bring our dog and last week end we brought the grandkids too. I love their Caesar Salad and every pizza is delish, our grandson had a chicken sandwich and devoured it. I called ahead to place a pickup order tonight and asked whether there was mushrooms in the lasagna as I have someone allergic. They told me the batches of veggie and meat lasagna were made together but they cut them separate, and no mushrooms are in the meat lasagna. I went ahead with two orders of meat lasagna. My husband came home and started eating his food and immediately found a mushroom. As there wasn't meat in either dish, I assume it was communicated wrong, and that they put in two orders for veggie lasagna. I called and was placed on hold by the manager, who told me I could come in and show the mushroom to her. I said no, I wouldn't be doing that. She then placed me on hold AGAIN for I don't know what reason ... only to come back around and tell me that I ordered cheese lasagna. When I corrected her and asked to speak with a manager, she said she was the manager. After all that, she said they would make two more dishes of meat lasagna for us to pick up (again, better customer service needed!), which I also declined. Finally they offered delivery of the two dishes. At that point, I decided it wasn't worth it ... Also, I noticed that the owners don't respond to negative reviews on here. Maybe they will reconsider. Food allergies should be taken more seriously. read more
