Carbonara that somehow looks like soup
    Tommy S.

Don't waste your time or money here. Came with my family -- service was careless, food bland. I ordered a carbonara to-go for my wife, and they completely forgot to cook it. I had to ask where it was, and instead of apologizing they just asked for my credit card. No make-good, no accountability, just a $35 charge for the most basic pasta on earth. Clear they just wanted to go home. I won't be back.

I stumbled upon this area unexpectedly and decided to explore. This restaurant was open and it looked very elegant and clean. There was plenty of seating outside and I liked that the soup of the day was cream of broccoli. I decided to enjoy a bow and it was delicious . It was creamy but you could still savor chunks of broccoli. It hit the spot! For some reason, it took a long time for my order to arrive. The staff was professional and cordial. I wish there were more than 1 Italian red wine available. I enjoyed a nice glass of Californian Pinot Noir. I thought prices were average and the happy hour offers discounts. You can get a little view if the Pacific Coast I'd you sit outside facing West. I would definitely come back. Thanks for the hospitality.

Esmeralda is absolutely fantastic! We come back basically every week and her service is unbeatable. Her attention to detail and care for her guests is truly special. She recommended the white wine muscles to me and it has become my favorite snack! Dipping the bread in the buttery garlicky sauce makes my day every time. We are truly so grateful to the staff and Esmeralda especially for making our time here always well spent! You'll always find us on their amazing patio, so beautiful at sunset! Thank you!

Gloria is a wonderful and caring server that always takes great care of us. Service is fast and attentive with great recommendations. We shared the shrimp covered in a crab cake coating and the three on the plate were enough to satisfy our hunger.

I love this place! That SeaBass is to die for. The salmon sorente did have a lot of sauce on it though, but it was all still delicious. Friendly waiters and waitresses!

Went here for dinner the other night and was not disappointed. The food is pretty standard and a great Italian option for San Clemente. I wish they had some more authentic dishes, but it was still good. The ambiance was cozy, yet felt like a great space for large gathering too. We tried the gnocchi and the checca pasta with shrimp added on. Our server Oscar, was great and very attentive. I want to come back to try the brunch!

Just moved to the area and stumbled across this little gem. We didn't have a reservation but were seated immediately. Mind you it was a Friday night at 7pm so that was a plus. They also had bar seating available and back room tables available for a short wait. Hosts and servers were all so nice The wine selection was decent and the service was great. The fresh bread the gave us with dinner was delicious and served with regular and pesto butter. They didn't skimp on the clams. the spumoni appetizer was great. Will be adding to our rotation of restaurants for date night. We ordered: Bruschetta appetizer Pasta Puttanesca Vongole with white sauce Bottle of Daou wine $50 spumoni bomba paid around 130 before tax? not bad! Place was fancy enough for date night but also causal for families as well.

Love this place! Great little neighborhood spot for happy hour with friends... haven't tried much of their main menu but they've got a great happy hour food menu, wine and cocktail list.

Wednesday night, dead quiet. Most of San Juan was a few blocks away at the concert, leaving us with the rare luxury of a peaceful patio and a little breathing room. We found a beautiful bottle of Italian wine, listened carefully to the specials like civilized adults pretending not to already know what we wanted, and split a Caesar to start, solid, classic, no nonsense. Then came the real business. Sylvia went with shrimp and angel hair. The shrimp? Perfectly cooked. That elusive sweet spot so many kitchens miss by a mile. Not rubbery, not underdone. Just right. I went for the Osso Buco, boldly promised to rival my grandmother's. Dangerous claim. But they backed it up. Deep, rich, slow-cooked soul food, the kind of dish that tastes like somebody's been standing over it all day, caring. They even brought the marrow spoon, which tells you everything you need to know about intent. Food? Five stars. Wine? Five stars. If I'd tweak anything, it's the details. The waiter and bartender were both in oversized black T-shirts with the logo. Functional, sure, but swap those for black collared shirts and the room instantly feels more polished. The patio could use a little love too. Nothing dramatic. Just tighten it up. Because in this business, especially now, the margins between good and unforgettable are razor thin. Crivello's already has the hard part nailed. A little sharper presentation, and they're dangerous.

The places around here close so early, there's no nightlife in this part of town especially in this strip mall. He made me gluten-free shrimp and veggies. I'm excited to dine in here sometime soon, but take it is great. I brought it home and I'm still assessing. The shrimp is definitely overcooked and chewy but I like the garlic and butter so I'm adding the steamed veggies and trying to enjoy it. I brought bf seafood pasta and it looks MUCH better than what I ordered. Why does that always happen?
