This is one of the blandest, run-of-the-mill places you can go for an unseasoned breakfast. In a city where good breakfast spots are on just about every corner, the popularity of Cassidy's is kind of a shock to me. Cassidy's Corner Cafes have been popping up all around Long Beach for the last few months, which has seemed a little akin to a psy-op to my partner and I. One day we thought we'd check it out and grabbed some food to eat on their patio. It had a quiet atmosphere and the service was just fine. We each got a selection of bagels and standard cream cheese (everything and a jalepeno cheese), and decided to split their pastrami sandwich. The bagels were weak. Taste about as flavorful as anything you could get store-bought. The pastrami was Oscar Meyer-quality, slathered with a heavy helping of mustard and pickles. None of these items were particularly bad... just absolutely flavorless, and quite costly for what we got. The coffee was better... but still nothing special to write home about. We ended up throwing it away and heading to a Coffee Bean down the street. Looking through some of the reviews here is quite boggling to me. If you're looking for a place that embodies a "Live, laugh, love" sign you'd find on discount at Ross, this is the place for you. For everyone else, you'd have more luck with an actual mom and pop shop. read more

Cassidy's Corner is such a gem- i am willing to drive cross town for one of their bagels! The first time going to Cassidys, I was so impressed by their selection of bagel sandwiches, and also their Iced coffee. With help from previous reviews, I chose the Desi bagel, a hollowed bagel of your choice (I chose jalapeño) with avocado, cream cheese, egg white, and bacon. I liked the Desi because it's indulgent, but a not-so-guilty pleasure due to the hollowed out bagel. If you're an iced coffee fiend like me, the Signature 4-2-1 iced coffee drink is the way to go. I love how you can actually taste the espresso, which isn't watered down like other coffee spots. For my Milk of choice, i went with my go-to, oat milk. I love this café located in California heights/Bixby. Although busy during peak hours, their ordering process is very efficient and organized. Everything I've ordered there from coffee, breakfast sandwiches, bagels and pastries are phenomenal. Visually appealing Since we ran into some car problems we opted for delivery. We ordered for delivery on a Friday morning around 10:30 AM through the DoorDash app. It took about 30 minutes to be prepared and an additional 15 minutes for it to be delivered. Now onto the food, we got two bagels and two drinks. The bagels came in the classic brown paper bag, the bagels itself were wrapped in a brown wax paper or parchment paper. Unwrapping the bagels, I was glad to see that it was already sliced in half, not only that, they was visually appealing and the portion-wow! We ordered: Large Iced 4-2-1 Large Iced Blended Coffee California on Jalapeno Bagel R.B. Melt on Jalapeno Bagel Why only 3 stars? I cannot stress how visually appealing to the eye those bagels were when I unwrapped them. Although the bagels was visually appealing, the R.B. Melt on Jalapeno Bagel fell apart within the second bite. The dijon mustard for some reason did not compliment the overall dish. It tasted a bit too apple cider vinegar-y or something was just too pickled in that bagel. Barely finished half before it became too overpowering. For that reason alone, I gave this a 3 star. I've tried the Cassidy Corner in Lakewood, and so I know the bagels are good. The have the most amazing array of bagels and cream cheese. However this is the first time I tried the Acai bowl, and it was at this location. I'd say it's good. It has great choices, although limited...still what I like on my bowl. They serving is huge. I appreciate that, because one spot I went to was small. They fill up the bowl all the way to the top. Mind you the top is not a flat top, but the dome kind. I'd say this is my new go to Acai Bowl spot when I work in Long Beach. I need to try more things here to see whether the starts go up or not..so I will be coming back. :) read more

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately, it doesn't live up to all the hype. First, let me start by saying their store is cute, cozy, and adorable. Best bagels in Long Beach! Their bagels are are big so they are definitely filling. My favorite thing to get here is their joes special on an Asiago bagel. Whenever I am not as hungry I go for the bagel bombz (comes in Asiago, everything but the bagel, or cinnamon glaze). The bagel bombz are perfect for kids too as it is not too messy since the cream cheese is inside. Lastly, you can never go wrong with just a bagel and cream cheese. They have various cream cheese flavors! One of my favorite flavors is the garden veggie. I do recommend asking them to toast your bagel twice. Their drinks are also delicious! That's when I also discovered their signature 4-2-1 iced coffee that I always get with my order now. Especially now that they are much closer to me, I'm only a few minutes away from a yummy bagel sandwich and iced coffee. Today I had "The Studebaker" and I'm definitely going to get that one again. It was packed with it's ingredients and very filling. They are only open from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. and their customer service is great. This morning was my second time here, I came in a little before 8 before work and left with my Joe's Special, large 4-2-1, and 1/2 dozen bagels within 5 minutes. Accidentally forgot that I wanted oatmilk in my coffee before my order was called, and the issue was immediately resolved. I believe the 4-2-1 is a vanilla latte, I haven't been able to find any more info but it is delicious if you like sweet coffee. When we came last time we didn't see that they had other flavored lattes! Got Joe's special last time and it was just as good. The bagel doesn't come toasted by default but it's clearly warm and fresh. The take home bagels are $1.50/piece or $15/dozen ($1.25/piece) which is well worth it to me. Vegan Cream Cheese. Can I tell you about vegan cream cheese? It is so amazing that they have a great tasting schmear, spread, American Neufchâtel...whatever your term. For someone hosting a cousin who is allergic to dairy, it was amazing. We all got to have the bagel experience - no one felt like they missed out, and the non-vegan, ordinarily dairy eating crew gave it their approval - not quite the same, but a good taste and almost the same spreadability. And the plus is they are always so friendly UPDATE 5/11/2023 .... Tried the Açaí Bowl, it was ok. I will stick to the Joes Special and Cassidy's Club!! We've run into an issue a couple of times lately where they are "not taking any orders". We've tried ordering online and the system doesn't take orders. Try calling them and they don't answer. Wanted to try this place for their breakfast items and ended up getting avocado bacon on a plain bagel with cream cheese which was good! The inside is very nice and they have outside seating also. It's in bixby knolls and plenty of parking on the streets! It wasn't busy when I was there, about two customers at 11:30am. They have TONS of cream cheese options (plain, strawberry, jalapeno, garden veggie) etc  and a good mix of fresh bagels and hot and cold sandwiches and acai bowls. read more

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon to see if they were still open. This place has the charm and kindness of a small mom-and-pop shop, with personable service, a warm family touch, and tasty food/drinks. Their iced coffee is very tasty (a little on the sweeter side) and their bagel sandwiches were carefully made and even wrapped with attention to detail. It's incredibly hard to open and run a shop during COVID, but this place does everything right and I would go out of my way to support this kind of business. :) read more

My wife and I have been excited to have a new place within walking distance. Finally! There soft opening has happened and we couldn't wait to try it. Because it's a soft opening I wanted to give some feedback that I hope will help owner/management to continue to be successful. My wife ordered a latte and and ordered a matcha latte. Both were good. But more importantly and the reason for the 3 stars, we both ordered The Lox. Which is a Lox bagel sandwich with the usual things in it. They are $9 each. The price I didn't think was a problem at first. Until we recurved our sandwiches. As you can see in the photo it was mostly creemcheese, way too much actually, and very little Lox. It tasted more like a salmon spread cream cheese. And that is when the $9 ends up being way too steep. Based on what we got, it should have been about $4.50 in my opinion. As I mentioned, I know it's a soft Opening. Which is why I wanted to give some constructive feedback. We will try again and hopefully the bugs will get worked out. So happy to see a coffee shop added to the vibrant Bixby Knolls area and huge props to the owners for opening during COVID as I've seen other places push back their store opening because of it - but not this Cassidy's Corner Cafe! // store + ambiance // The store inside is pretty small but average for a coffee shop (no indoor seating right now) but there's around 3 highseat tables outside and even a small table for kids! Love how there's circle dots on the floor inside to help enforce 6 ft. distancing. // service // Service here is always impeccably warm and friendly! The staff works super fast and always welcome you when you walk in and leave :) If stumped on their wide selection of delicious drinks/food, they're always happy to help provide recommendations. I'm having mixed feelings about this place!! I was visiting Long Beach over the weekend and I was really craving a lox bagel. I saw that Cassidy's had just opened and that the other locations were highly rated. I decided to give it a shot. The food was delicious, but there just wasn't enough of it. I would honestly rate this place 3/5 overall, but don't want to send their ratings down as they just opened. I attached a photo of my bagel and as you can see, there's barely anything in it! The sesame bagel itself was DELICIOUS -- very fluffy and chewy, just how I like it. Very fresh. Also, the lox was delicious but there was hardly any. As you can see, there were very few pieces of caper & onion as well. For $9, a lox bagel should be packed with salmon and the other ingredients. Not sure I'll ever be back in Long Beach, but I'd be willing to give Cassidy's another try. I wouldn't get the lox though because it was a terrible deal. Hopefully this was just a flop due to the fact that they're brand new! read more
