The bagels here are great! Never have been disappointed by a bagel here and there aren't too many good bagels around. I appreciate Cassidy's for the Long Beach staple it is. The sandwiches however are pretty mid. There isn't really anything special about them and maybe it's the inflation, but they are quite pricey for what you get. I'm really disappointed with both the order accuracy and the customer service I received from this restaurant. Yesterday I ordered two breakfast sandwiches for breakfast and a separate deli sandwich for my son's lunch. Instead, the deli sandwich was replaced with another breakfast sandwich -- which was actually the less expensive item. My son has autism and is extremely limited with foods he will eat, so this wasn't a minor inconvenience. He ended up without the lunch he was expecting because he will often refuse unfamiliar foods altogether. What upset me even more was the response when I called the next day to explain the issue. Instead of asking questions (the woman gave me a statement TWICE expecting an explanation--please understand the difference between a question and a statement) apologizing, or trying to help resolve the problem, the employee repeatedly responded with: "So you had a breakfast sandwich and it wasn't the right one." It felt dismissive and uninterested, as though the situation was being minimized instead of addressed professionally. I understand mistakes happen in restaurants. (I work in 2 restaurants- one in Seal Beach and one in Long Beach) What matters is how customers are treated afterward. A simple apology, clarification, or attempt to make it right would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, the customer.  service I experienced made the situation much worse. I've been to Cassidy's before at a different location and wasn't disappointed but I was not satisfied with this location. :( My bagel had the saddest amount of cream cheese and was barely toasted . I originally went for the bagel bombs and they were out before 10 on a Tuesday. Sad, I don't think I'd come back to this location. Service was good though, cashier was very nice. read more

I was looking for the real German chewy Bagels for a while. I always passed this café for years and finally stopped by checking the bagels this morning. I saw the good Yelp reviews last time about this location on Spring St, LB. I expected more choices of selections for bagels displayed on the wall. They had only limited flavors. No blueberries...Oh! No!!! I found seasonal pumpkin bagels and red velvet thou. I got lucky. Love love pumpkin spice for breads and coffees during the Thanksgiving. The bagel size is about 6 inches. Big...big! Price is $2.50, only pumpkin is $2.75 and one dozen is $25. Their menu includes hot, cold sandwiches. I will try the hot bagel sandwich next time. The ambiance is like other bagel café. Not fancy but cozy. The parking is enough, including ev charging spots. I tried the half pumpkin bagel in the car on the way back home. Soooo good! Today I finally got the real bagels. I have always enjoyed this place. Staff is always friendly and for how busy they get, they are always movin' and groovin'. The space is small but they've got seating on the inside and tables outside, enough room for everyone, if you wanted to enjoy your food at the shop. I've had some different breakfast bagel sandwiches prior, The Joes Special and The Mad Joe, both I'd recommend. The bagel bombs are something not to skip, they are great, and don't have a shortage of cream cheese. They do sell out pretty quick, for good reason. The reason I write this review is not only because I enjoy this bagel shop but this trip, I decided to try something new. The Studebaker Sandwich, absolutely incredible. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Perfect amount of crunch, to veggie, to chicken, to bagel. After every bite I said "this is so good" because it really was that good. I am counting down the days to my next Studebaker Sandwich. My wife found again the best of best Bagel Cafe in LB. We already had taco Friday brunch near the Y and stopped by this location. Wow!!! They displayed lots of bagels on the wall. We can buy very limited flavors today. Plain, egg, red velvet, Pumpkins, onions, asiago, cranberry, and small bagel bombs. We chose 2 pumpkins, plain, cranberry, and asiago. Their bagels are so big about 6 inches. In general, most of bagels are small. My wife loves pumpkin flavors for the coffee, pies, breads. She was so happy finding her fave flavors. Cassidy's Corner is a small Bagel Chain. I have been to all of them. The OG on Del Amo was my regular stop on the way to work. It's where I first had Bagel Bombs and I would bring them for my staff (amazing if you haven't tried them). Then I started frequenting the Bixby Knoll's location. Both of these locations are much bigger and busier than this one and the LBX Hangar location. This location on Spring, although smaller, has a good selection of bagels but some are only available Fri-Sun (well displayed on their menu), probably when they have more business. There are several tables inside and outside should you want to dine in. The LBX location, although many tables inside and outside at the Hangar, early morning it's getting cleaned and no place to sit inside! That's on the Hangar, not Cassidy's! Bagels are always fresh here and very nice staff! Coffee drinks are prepared consistently. Today I had a toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese and a hot Chai Tea Latte. I was very happy they were open (it was just after 6am)! I did choose to take it to go vs dine in. They have a new system of giving you pagers to alert you when you order is ready. When it's busy, great idea. I did have a good chuckle later as I was the only one there! Definitely a good system vs yelling out someone's order or name! Finally tried this place after so many locals had recommended it and I'm glad i did! Came in on a Saturday morning and it wasn't too busy so we quickly got our bagels. I tried the jalapeno bagel with jalapeno cream cheese which i loved. I didn't find it too spicy but i also can tolerate spice. The cream cheese in my opinion is enough despite what others might say. The 4.2.1 coffee was surprisingly pretty good and I'm not a coffee person. We came in near closing, so the Asiago bagel was already gone. We had the sausage, egg, and cheese on a Parmesan bagel with plain cream cheese and cheddar, as well as the grilled chicken ranch on a garlic bagel. The lettuce on the grilled chicken sandwich was the leafy part and a bit bitter, though the ranch helped balance it out. I should have known it was going to be an unlucky experience based on my pick up number. Finally decided to try this place after having someone share bagel bombs with me. I was really looking forward to it. Food: The bagels were light and fluffy, but not as well toasted as I typically like (i.e. crunchy when you bite into the bagel like the usual I get at our neighborhood favorite Grounds). Ambience: nice cafe vibe with indie music in the background. The area is clean and brightly lit with tables inside and outside. Service: this is where work is needed. I ordered a passion tea. A drink was placed on the counter at the same time as my pager. I assumed it was mine. The server said nothing. As I took a sip, I thought it was a very muddy iced tea. The server then said "You took her iced coffee!" pointing to a lady sitting down. "I can't take it back now because you already sipped it," she said acting annoyed. Even worse, she never gave me the iced tea I actually ordered. I waited to see if my tea would ever come and it didn't, so I had to ask for it before leaving. As I left with my young son, I smiled and said "Thank you!" to zero reply as 2 workers stood at the counter talking to each other. We were given the pager type buzzer to pick up our food when it was ready. The food was very overpriced, it was decent, but the coffee was not what I was expecting. I asked for an icedlatte and it was just milk and coffee, which seemed excessive because it was about six dollars I think. The people that work there were not friendly. The tables were absolutely filthy. They need to be refinished because they're so sticky from the melted varnish that the paper covering the bagel sticks to the table. The floor was dirty. There were quite a few people there and the three of us tried to figure out why. The atmosphere is horrible. The service is non-existent. I'll never go back there again. read more

Ordered the Joe's Special which includes cream cheese, avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese, and eggs on your choice of bagel. It was quite delicious! I didn't expect for it to be that good. My best friend has been hyping this place up for a while and I never had the chance to come here, but finally more recently chose this place for a quick take out bagel breakfast sandwich on a Saturday morning. She ordered it through Yelp as a pick-up order on the way to the place. Once we got there, we realized that Yelp pushed our order back to a much further time-frame for pickup, so to be safe we checked in with the staff and they were able to re-expedite it & so we received it in about 5 minutes which was great. We ordered the desi bagel sandwiches and they were soooo good. Lots of cream which probably was an overload for my body, but we weee happy and it was certainly delicious. This is my first visit to this Cassidy's location. This stop for morning coffee and a fresh bagel was most pleasant. We received good service at the order counter and our food and beverage were ready in a reasonable amount of time. The shop was moderately busy, with a steady flow of customers. They have a nice indoor seating area (although a bit noisy for conversation) and an outdoor patio with umbrellas. We ordered coffee and bagels....toasted. Extra charge for butter or cream cheese. Oh Cassidy, you are my favorite person right now. You can never do me wrong (except when you're sold out of most of your bagels at 10am in the morning). Which is understandable, I get it. I truly do. Your bagels are really good. My friends and I have been coming here more frequently now to try out the menu. So far we've had: Nitro Coffee: Two very friendly staff members gave me a sample of this coffee and I was impressed by both the taste of the coffee and the attention to service. I felt very welcomed. The coffee was the perfect ratio of sweetness with a kick of caffeine. Joes Special: My favorite so far! I ordered this on a Parmesan Bagel and it tasty yummy! Tuna Sandwich: I love Tuna but this wasn't a good food item. The mustard overpowered everything, including the Garlic Bagel, which I didn't think could be possible. The cafe has both inside and outside seating and I'm glad I stayed to eat my bagel this day because the mustard made my sandwich very soggy so I can't imagine what it would have been if I took it to go. I stopped by for a quick bite and was craving some tuna. Lord and behoooldddd *cue singing angels* they have a tuna melt on the menu. NOW, I don't typically eat tuna melts, only tuna salad sandwiches but I made an exception.... Because you know... we're grown and we try new things.... I ordered this tuna melt on an Asiago bagel. I was .... Underwhelmed :( there's mustard (I can't remember if it's Dijon or not) that was very overpowering of any other flavor. As well as the cheese just kind of... did not go together. I was pretty bummed that it wasn't anything I was expecting. I thought it would be good but the cheese and mustard being so strong and not liking each other made my palate confused as well. The service was very very superb! The man behind the register was very kind and welcoming and shared how the bagels are made fresh every morning and they have a display case of what Is available at time of ordering. They do have a few locations but I've only been to this one I spoke with, Alyssa while another worker bagged my order. (5 stars for Alyssa! The other workers were extremely friendly too but unfortunately I didn't get their names) First off, the bagels here are HUGE and fluffy. They have an amazing menu with different sandwiches. (And a drink menu of Course) My order mostly had jalapeño bagels. Which weren't overwhelming at all. They were extremely fresh I'll 100 percent be back whenever I have a craving for bagels or whenever I visit my aunt and want to drop some off. Always support your local bagel shops. I tried their lox bagel today, and it was so satisfying. They do not skimp on the cream cheese, the lox, or the caper. All the ingredients tasted fresh and fragrant.
