Which is probably why the original owners attempted to convert it to gas. We wanted wood, not gas, and we wanted to get the 26% federal income tax credit. So we visited A Fireplace Store and More and spoke to the woman working there. She set up a date for Rony to come out and give us an estimate. Rony showed up on time and we settled on a modern high efficiency biomass fireplace insert that qualifies for the credit. Parts and labor was not cheap, but we wanted a quality appliance and this business has decades of experience, which we also wanted. We put down a deposit and set the installation day, which was today. Rony and his team showed up on time, worked quickly, did good quality work and cleaned up afterwards. Rony explained how to use the new fireplace and was all done in a matter of 3-4 hours. Very happy with our purchase and service and we can't wait until we can use it this winter.

Not only did he come in about 30% lower than the competitor, he was honest and forthright about what would be best for our situation. He did not try to sell us something more expensive or a set that would not work for our home. He answered every question and allowed us time to discuss the decision between ourselves. When we decided to have them do the install, he was able to get everything done in a timely fashion. The technician who installed the unvented gas log burner did a great job. He protected our floor while working and cleaned up everything. He offered to take away the grate that was used for burning wood. He let my husband know all the details for using the remote, leaving the glass doors open, etc. It heated our entire house so well that we had to turn it off for a while! We are incredibly happy with the fireplace and our choice to go with a family-owned, local business.
