Oh yeah! Our first night in Oregon and the seafood did not disappoint! Fish tacos, fish and chips, fresh fish, and steamer clams hit the spot! Hungry after a day in the road checking out waterfall after waterfall, we were famished. What a great way to start an Oregon coast trip! One of my favorite meals on this 2 week trip! It made us feel welcome to Oregon!

2 chowders, 1 fish and chips, 1 shrimp and chips....everything was amazing! Some of the best clam chowder we've ever had!

Easy parking. Very friendly and quick service. We had the clam chowder in a sourdough bowl topped with crab and the crab French roll. Both delicious. I like that they put the crab on the side for the chowder topper allowing you to add a little or a lot per spoon. The place is small and cozy. It was pretty busy when we came but no wait time

My boyfriend and I stopped by for dinner on a Saturday evening, hungry and excited to try some delicious seafood. We were told it would be 25 minutes to be seated and we decided to wait since the reviews were glowing. We weren't seated until 45 minutes later. If we knew it would have taken that long, we would have just gone somewhere else. Finally, we were seated at a table next to a large party. We felt pretty neglected by our server the whole evening because she was busy taking care of them. It was hard to get anyone's attention to order and get drink refills. The Fish and Chips were not very crispy, but the dish was delicious and fresh. The fries were absolutely mouthwatering. We also tried the Popcorn Shrimp and really liked it. For the most part, the food held up to the hype! I just wish I could say the same for the service.

Seafood along the harbor -- Catalyst is a popular place, and deservedly so. I had fried oysters with clam chowder (substituted for fries), and finished off with lemon-blueberry cheesecake. It was all good. There's a front dining room (ok) and an inner bar (much more desirable, sought after by the locals) ... and it can get busy. Catalyst isn't fancy, but it's solid and friendly, and fairly reasonably priced. It's worth a visit -- just beware that others may have the same idea.

Assistance + Balance + Cleanliness + Deliciousness + Environment + Service is wonderful, prompt, friendly, open to questions (asked to buy a bread bowl as a side they figured out how to do it). Food price to quantity perfectly balanced! Restaurant and restrooms were clean and tidy. The food is amazing, fresh, delicious, can't say enough about it! The atmosphere/environment is nautical, relaxed, shanty like, but clean and orderly, like a well maintained vessel! Third time here and 3/3 no fails at all. Absolutely love them!

Outstanding meal!! We had halibut fish and chips that was perfection! Super fresh and 3 large pieces for $30! 100.% worth it. Fish tacos and fried shrimp were spectacular also. You could tell everything was fresh and made on site. Have the coastal lemonade, vodka, watermelon and mint, so refreshing! Summer was our server and she nailed it, it was hot and very busy and she was positive and very attentive. This will be a favorite for us

YUM!! Fresh Dungeness crab tacos with mango salsa? Taste bud heaven. The seafood here is so fresh and delicious! I wish I lived in the area so I could come back more often. Their special gin and tonic is delicious too! What an awesome place

Steamer clams and baked bread. Great flavor! Needed more broth for that yummy bread!

They open at 11am and we came before 11:30 and there was only 1 other couple seated. The waitress was very polite and friendly. We were seated quickly, given menus and water. One lady in our group can't eat gluten and has a few other allergies so she ask if she could eat the "soup of the day". Our waitress replied "I'm pretty sure". My friend asked if she was sure or pretty sure. She said she would check but never came back. Then the weird part happened. We had placed our orders, the other tables were now full, but nobody had food, except that one party that arrived before us. We assume there was some problem in the kitchen but she never came back to explain or apologize for the very long wait. Not to us, or anyone. When she eventually brought the food out, there was no apology or acknowledgement for the long wait. And she brought my friend a salad instead of the soup which she had inquired about. She did explain that she couldn't get an answer to her allergy question so she wanted to be safe. But wouldn't you tell the customer before just bringing the food? Anyway the food was all delicious!! I ordered the halibut sliders which were cooked perfectly. The "soup of the day" was okay but needed salt and pepper, which we requested. They brought us 2 pepper shakers, no salt. My wife had pasta bolognese which she loved. Her salad was bland. So overall the food was very good. The service was below par

Both really good and made in their stone oven. We also got the calmari for appetizers. Calamari cooked perfectly, not rubbery. Light batter, crispy, and seasoned really well that gave it great flavor. Others in the group ordered a clam chowder bread bowl, chicken Parmesan, fish & chips and shrimp & chips. The overall consensus was good. Casual atmosphere and perfect location. It's at the boardwalk near an arcade. During the day, there's also ice cream and coffee nearby. Couldn't get any pictures.

We came down to Brookings to take care of some business and decided to stop in for lunch and a drink afterwards. We weren't especially hungry so we ordered our usual favorites (clam chowder for me and steamer clams for the fellow) that combo usually helps us decide whether or not we want to return, without breaking the bank on a new spot. Our server was delightful, she was kind and attentive without being overbearing. Our order took a little longer than expected for what we ordered but we didn't mind, we had some nice blackberry cider they had on tap to tide us over. I was a little disappointed when our meals came out and I didn't get a slice of bread with my bowl of clam chowder like the fellow did with his steamers, but we were able to buy a half batard for $5 and that was perfect for us to split. It came out warm with a side of butter and complimented the chowder much nicer than the oyster crackers they originally brought out would have. In fact I recommend getting the bread if you order the chowder, it almost stole the show. The chowder was delicious, could've been warmer but still very tasty, the potatoes were cut super thin, and the clams were plump and tender and tasted fresh, they did add bacon but not in overwhelming amounts, and I thought it was spiced perfectly. I only added a few shakes of red pepper flakes to finish it. The fellow thought his steamer clams/mussels were marvelous, with a very flavorful broth, and he loved the fact that he was allowed to mix them. They made a good first impression on us, we will definitely be returning for dinner and ordering a couple of pizzas and perhaps a salad as well. Who knows, they may prove to be one of our new favorite spots.

My wife ordered the Agedashi Tofu & Pork Gyozas and I had a couple of rolls, the spicy Rouge and a plain Jane salmon, avocado and cucumber roll. Everything was fantastic. The fish was super fresh, the tofu cooked perfectly and the gyoza sauce tangy and yummy. We only had a couple of small issues, more personal preferences really. 1 - my wife enjoyed the tofu, but the dish is described as having an agedashi broth but really it was more of a thicker style sauce smeared on the plate the tofu was placed on. It didn't really have a true broth. 2 - the habanero marmalade was not spicy. The roll was described as a spicy roll, but the marmalade was sweet. Unfortunately, the jalapeños were sweet as well. I know they can't control capsaicin in peppers, but that marmalade needs way more habanero. It would be WONDRFUL on toast though! Note: looking at their menu now they have updated this roll to replace the marmalade with a "tangy sesame". I look forward to trying this to see the difference. If you want a wonderful coastal option that isn't fish & chips, give Pacific Sushi a try.

It tasted like Lysol, presumably from the citrus ponzu? That was a tough swallow. I'd still return for that tofu, though. We were seated right away, arriving around 8pm on a Saturday night, with several other guests already seated. The lighting was low and decor was pleasing for a small town coastal sushi joint. The vibe is exactly what you expect from a awesome little Irish pub. Lots of beer artwork on the walls, cool little tree of life art, and the friendliest staff you'll ever find. The bartender Holly was the most friendly bartender I've had in I feel like a decade or more, and the bar back Josh was pretty awesome himself. He gave us some wonderful tips for some other places to eat at as we travel around the state, and all in all both of them gave us some pretty epic conversation. We almost never said at the bar, we decided to this time and I'm so glad that we did! The food was so so, nothing to really write home about but nothing really wrong either. It's bar food, you get what you expect when you go to an Irish pub. Taco Tuesday was well worth it, I'm a pescatarian so I had the fish taco and then tried their awesome potato taco and enjoyed the potato taco the most actually! I wouldn't pay what they normally charge for these tacos, they're pretty basic and the tortillas are not grilled nearly enough, but Taco Tuesday made three tacos only $10.50 and I could mix and match between all the different types so that was totally worth it! My wife tried the honey mustard chicken salad and unfortunately it did not live up to what she had hoped for. It was a really basic salad the veggies were fresh which was fortunate but it was basic, nothing was really seasoned, the honey mustard dressing didn't taste like mustard at all and the chicken was basic breaded chicken that tasted like it was from Dairy Queen. It was fresh, but still tasted like it was from Dairy Queen. All In all, the drinks and the bartender will definitely keep us coming back. Next time it'll just be for some drinks and some fries probably, but I definitely can't wait to try the steamer clams with jalapenos.
