We stopped by here for dinner on a cold rainy Monday for dinner. Though the parking lot is small, the overflow parking lot is so close it's not a problem at all. There was a thirty minute wait for a table, so we grabbed two seats at the bar and enjoyed the big screen TVs with football games playing. We were greeted quickly and got our drink orders taken care of. The guys at the bar were great! Personable and efficient :o). One was new (and still nice), but the second guy was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant, the food, the beer....everything! We enjoyed sharing a house salad. Loved the dressing (made in-house) and the pistachios were delicious. We ordered a large make-your-own pizza with garlic butter and olive oil, four cheeses, broccoli rabe, mushrooms, and guanciale (an oh so flavorful pork!). Bottles of champagne, wine, Belgian beers etc are at the ready but the ambiance is comfortable casual so not too formal nor too pizza chainesque as we are all so tired of the big name pizzas and their ickie cheap dough that makes for overly bready pizza. I am back for a second time. Start with Julie my server who is outstanding. She is very old school and well seasoned as a top notch server. Got the Sicilian pizza with prosciutto and Capicola and arugula but swapped out garlic oil for balsamic. Just like home. The wine is priced so that 3 glasses equal a bottle. You can't afford not to buy the bottle and take home the rest. I am so I love with the food that I have eaten and the knowledge and care that the servers bring to my dining experience this is such a hidden gem. Your going to need a bigger parking lot. read more

This was our first visit to this location. We have tried the Catch-a-Fire in Madtree a few times. Having been sold out of their Cincinnati Wing Week a couple nights in a row, we decided to see what all the fuss was about, and check out this location. I give Catch-a-Fire props for coming up with the most inventive flavor combination of Cincinnati Wing Week. The Black and Gold wings, while too salty (too much soy sauce?) for us, we did not regret having tried them. Having done so did rest a curiosity. The chicken itself was plump and juicy. Unfortunately, it did still have some unrendered skins. We also ordered the Cherry Oh Baby pizza without guanciale. Woodfired pizzas. The crust had a chewey quality with a bit of crisp. There was a generous amount of dried cherries on top. Like any pizza place, pizzas (and other food,) may be order for carryout. There is a bar area, dining area, and outdoor seating. Igloos outside may be reserved in advance. There is a booking fee, and minimum amount of food/drink that must be purchased once inside. The dining area has an upscale yet casual look. It instantly made our outing feel that nicer than the quick bite it was. The lighting is great for taking pictures of food. No matter the angle, I did not get a shadow from my phone on the food. read more

We had never been to this restaurant and thought we'd try it. We arrived on a Friday evening at 6:30 pm with our 2 young grandsons and were told it would be a 25 minute wait for an inside table or we could sit outside on the patio and be served right away. We opted to sit outside since we had plans to be at a concert by 8 pm close by. We waited over an hour and talked to the server about the long wait. We were told that because the food is wood fired it takes awhile and their oven is only so big, plus they had a large order of carry out orders. It appeared that the carry out orders took priority and customers dining in were forced to wait. We told the server to box up our food when it was ready because we needed to leave. Once the pizza came the order was incorrect. Other tables on the patio were waiting long periods of time as well. We were offered a number of discount cards for 10% off our next order and finally they discounted our check for our inconvenience. We did not leave the restaurant until 8 pm. We will never return to this establishment. This affected our whole evening. The incident could have been avoided if the restaurant had told us up front they were running way behind. We would have chosen to go elsewhere since we had young children with us. read more

I've been here twice and gotten the same cherry pizza . Yeah, cherries. If I closed my eyes and had to guess, I don't think I'd guess correctly. This is some great wood fired pizza and I can't speak for their others, but if you can make a pizza with cherries on it good, that says something to me about how you can make any pizza good. The ambiance is cool because they play like a musical bingo which I didn't have time for, but it's nice. They have a little igloo out back too. A few tvs and live music sometimes. read more

The mystic pizza and salads are excellent and the sticky toffee pudding is amazing! Also, Aidan is an outstanding server.

I prefer this location to their spot at MadTree. The Blue Ash location has the look and feel of a proper small restaurant and bar. They also have a small retail area with a limited selection of beers and wines for sale. I ordered takeout last week. The hostess was friendly, but the staff seemed to struggle a bit, both with their masks and with getting my order from the kitchen and into my hands. I think they might have forgotten about me. I had to wait a bit for my order, but they did have a beautiful bouquet of flowers near the bar that smelled wonderful, so I didn't mind too much. As far as Cincinnati pizza goes, Catch-a-Fire's are pretty decent. The Mellow Mood is a legitimate thin-crust, white pizza that you could eat regularly. On the other hand, I would not suggest their wings. If that's what you are looking for, there are a lot of better wing-centric places in the area. read more

In all honesty, I would probably give 4 stars, but my most recent experience was so great that I'm giving 5 stars. A very young lady named Patricia took care of us. She even took my call on Saturday to see if I could make a reservation for a slightly larger than average group on Sunday. She said they didn't take reservations, but that she would let the manager know to expect us at 12:45 for Sunday brunch. Sure enough, they had a table ready for us. We were lucky enough to have Patricia take care of us. Her service, friendliness, and caring professionalism were truly exceptional. Even with kids in our group, Patricia was attentive and fantastic! My friend couldn't do fruits with seeds, so Patricia accommodated her with a large plate of alternative seedless fruits. i got my usual Potatohead pizza (without jalapenos), but Patricia recommended doing half Mellow (honey) and half Potatohead. They were both great. Everyone was happy, and Patricia was wonderful. I order the Potatohead 10" pizza occasionally for lunch, and it's probably the best pizza I've ever tasted. Every once in a while, the bottom is too black for my tastebuds, but it's usually fantastic! The location is great, the decor is nice, the bar is nice, the outdoor seating is nice, the regular menu is solid (though I mostly order the same thing), and the Sunday brunch menu is better than solid. My only complaints . . . The parking lot needs to be bigger, and sometimes they aren't great at answering the phone during lunchtime, but I chalk that up to being busy. But all in all, this is an excellent pizza restaurant, and if you're fortunate enough to have Patricia take care of you, I promise you'll have EXCEPTIONAL service! read more

We have been going here on Tuesdays for trivia night and we have been impressed every time. The servers are so friendly and attentive and are respectful of us playing the game. The pizza is wonderful and the wings are yummy. The outdoor patio is lovely. There is also a full bar, not just beer, which is great. It was half price wine day apparently so when I ordered a glass the Bartender let me know that two glasses would be more expensive than a whole bottle and you can take the bottle home. Great wood fired pizza! We got the meatball appetizer, which came with 5 meatballs and toasted bread. The sauce does have a bite to it and is a little spicy. We got two pizzas, the three little pigs and the mr. Brown. I recommend the three little pigs if you're looking for a meaty pizza. I'm torn bc this place is so good. Stars is for service ONLY! I've been 3 times so far but I think today will be my last time. My first time going back in May was great sat on the patio our server was great can't remember her name but she was lovely. Now on to the last 2 times I went (today probably being our last time well atleast until college hill opens up) our server both times was the same guy and he just sucks. He's nice but his service sucks. The last time I had him I left him a $20 tip on a $45 bill even with not so good service bc I know servers don't get paid much hourly and he was pleasant so... But this time I mean we were there for an hour and only got apps and drinks while we literally looking at ppl who came in after us ordering and getting their food. Our order wasnt big 2 apps and a pizza ! We ordered the Chicken dip app and it came w literally 5 pieces of bread for all that dip? So when he comes back to check on us (u know they give u a lil min to atleast taste it before they come ask if everything is ok) I tell him we need more bread and drink refills, it took him about a good 15 mins to come back w what I thought wld be more bread so we cld finish our app, nope he came back with drinks and said "I feel I'm forgetting something" I smile and say the bread he says oh yeah, when I tell y'all it took that man another 10/15 mins to come back w the bread to the point my boys start eating the dip off the spoon. ATP I just cancelled our pizza and left. He lucky I even left a $5 tip! Then he asked why we leaving I tell him why we were leaving and all of a sudden he becomes super attentive and apologetic. Some other time my guy it's too late for that! Then after I paid I found myself waiting for my receipt after about another 10 mins of waiting for my receipt I just said forget it and left. I know servers be busy so I honestly sometimes think that they are not aware of how long a customer is waiting especially when it's for little stuff. I'm upset bc I really like this place but CERTAIN PPL WILL DEFINITELY MAKE U FEEL WHEN U ARE NOT WELCOMED, idk if that's the case w this guy bc he doesn't seem like he's flustered and overwhelmed it just seems maybe the patio is his LAST PRIORITY? Excellent pizza place!. Only real downside is that it has very limited parking. My friend and I had to park in the neighbor's lot. It has an upscale, yet casual, look and lends itself more toward good friends, a date, or family with teens rather than small kids. Pizzas come in 10 or 16 inch. They have meat, vegetarian, and vegan options. White and red sauce both available. We ordered the 'Three Little Pigs' with the fire red sauce (spicier), pepperoni, ground Italian sausage, and prosciutto. It has four cheeses. The crust was thin and beautiful. The sausage and the fire red sauce gave it a bit of kick. My friend had the meatball appetizer (bread, meatballs, sauce)...I had a bite and it was tasty as well. I didn't have any of the specialty beers. The soda has real sugar. Am I alone in that I do not like the extra sweet taste of the full sugar soda? I ended up drinking just water. Even the diet was very sweet. It was good food, good service, and a reasonable price. I would go back. I would send others to eat there. Better than a regular pizza out. read more

I've been to Catch a fire twice while visiting Cinci and the experience was wonderful. The pizzas were delicious and their wings and Caesar salad are excellent. The service is what sets this restaurant apart. I walk with a walking stick sometimes. As the hostess was walking us out to our table, she noticed I was well behind. She started walking slower, took her time, without making me feel like a side show. Her kindness and tact is a rare commodity in these days when many people are me centered. We ate here last night for my mother-in-law's birthday. While I would consider going back, I am not rushing to go back. The night started poorly due to the wait. I understand every restaurant is understaffed, so I did my best to not punish Catch a Fire for the wait (despite plenty of empty tables) and despite the wait for the food. We ordered three appetizers, three salads and three pizzas. - Nati Bites (pretzels with beer cheese). One star. The pretzels were fine. The beer cheese was cold and bland. It was literally ice cold, so I think it was served that way intentionally. No idea why you would serve beer cheese cold, but they did. Bad choice. - Garlic parmesan wings - three stars. the wings were fine. Good flavor. I think they could work on the texture some - the chicken was a little gummy and not fall off the bone - but they were decent. - Meatballs - two stars - the meatballs weren't terribly good. They were relatively bland. The red sauce they're served on was excellent, but I ordered meatballs with red sauce, not a bowl of red sauce. - House salad - four stars - this is a good salad. I don't think it's quite as good as a Dewey's salad, but it was a good salad. My in-laws ordered Caesar and seemed happy. I didn't try it, so I won't comment on it. - Pizzas - 3-4 stars - I will get specific below, but the pizzas were fine. I don't know if I'd give them three or four stars (or somewhere in between). They were decent pizzas, but nothing like a fancy Italian-style pizza joint. - Buffalo chicken pizza - this was good. I'd give it four stars. It had more ranch than I wanted, but it had a really good spice and good flavor. - Three little pigs plus bacon (so, four little pigs) - three stars - the pizza was a bit bland. I think the amount of meat overpowered any flavor of cheese or sauce. - cheese pizza with green olives - three and a half stars - this is just a basic cheese pizza with some olives, but the red sauce was quite good and you can taste it since we didn't have a lot of toppings. read more

Vibe - Cool Love they they have vegan options. Wine and beer selection was good. Service was terrible (Amy H.). Took forever. No apologies or explanation as to why it took so long. I am not a heavy sauce person, but pizza was DRY. We asked for a side of saucez. Specified we wanted spicy red sauce and the server proceeded to argue that we had originally ordered the regular red sauce. We didn't, but even if we did, does it matter? Our pizza was obviously overcooked and this is after being told our first pizza was dropped, we waited 45 minutes for a burned pizza. The Cook was very rude, inappropriate and completely unprofessional yelling across the dining area and talking about patrons. He seemed under the influence. Our Server was excellent until he disappeared! The Cook interrupted our conversation with the Server yelling across the dining area for him and we learned he was burned while trying to serve our pizza. The Manager Amy seemed to have no control of the situation, she tried. Our meal was covered due to the awful experience.
