There are so many wonderful things to share about this place. I had been wanting to try Catch for some time since it opened and finally made it in this week and I just want to keep going back! The food is exquisite! I had the truffle sashimi to start. Fun fact, this restaurant flies its seafood in from Japan. The taste reflects just how fresh the seafood is! The sashimi melts in your mouth. Then had the Cesar salad. We asked for it vegan since my dining partner couldn't have some of the traditional ingredients and it was a huge salad and very tasty! Then, I had the filet. It was cooked perfectly medium. They offer you sauces for it, but I didn't think it needed anything because of how flavorful it was on its own. Then for desert, the Hit Me Cake! It's three layers of brownie, ice cream and chocolate with a drizzle on top. It's a large desert that isn't overly rich with chocolate, but a very good balance and highly recommend sharing it with others. All courses are meant to be shared and the menu is so varied that you'll likely want to try several dishes. The service was actually a bit slow sitting at a table. I absolutely loved this place. The ambience alone was such a vibe. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. The customer service was a 10/10, they did not disappoint. The espresso martini was delicious. I also got a watermelon drink and green drink, which were also both delicious. For food we got crispy rice, shrimp, spicy tuna roll, the lobster, lobster mac and cheese, and Brussels sprouts. I will say the lobster Mac and cheese was on the saltier side but the Brussels sprouts were sooooooo good, the seasoning they use is amazing. The shrimp was very good as well. We were offered to wait at the bar, however, we could not occupy seats so only standing room, place gets very crowded with everybody waiting for tables. Service is okay but very slow. I regret going there hungry. The upstairs dinning room is very loud, so me and my party were not able to carry a conversation without yelling and repeating ourselves. Catch is a prime example of what is wrong with Dallas dining. All aesthetics and pomp, no thought on the menu or service. Want sushi flown from Japan served with little to no care? Sure. Overpriced steak and small pasta portions, also sure. Being seated 35 minutes after your reservation time and being told to just grab a drink at the crowded bar and mingle, why not? This is another national chain that has cemented itself in the Dallas dining scene by catering to price point and not authentic dining experience. The menu prices are set where you're paying for the "ambiance" and ability to say you went to Catch. The service is horrific for the price point and the food, menu and thought into the main dining experience is confused and pandering. I would highly suggest skipping Catch and spending your money elsewhere supporting a local restaurant. read more

Visited Catch in Dallas for dinner and overall had a great experience! The ambiance is definitely a highlight--trendy, lively, and stylish. It's a fun spot for a night out or a celebration. We were greeted warmly at the entrance, and although we waited a few minutes to be seated, we were quickly handed drink and dinner menus once at our table. Our first server came off a little standoffish, which made the start of the meal feel a bit off, but we were later switched to a different waitress who was friendly, attentive, and easy to communicate with, which made the rest of the evening much smoother. We started with the crunchy rice cakes and crispy shrimp. The rice cakes were slightly overcooked and tough to bite into, so texture-wise, they could've been better--but still had decent flavor. The crispy shrimp was definitely the better of the two: crunchy, nicely sauced, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The portion is large, so it's great for sharing. We also tried the Catch Roll, which was beautifully presented and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. That said, it was more visually impressive than flavor-forward--good, but not mind-blowing. For our main course, we ordered the center-cut filet and grilled asparagus, both of which were well-executed. The steak was cooked just right, and the asparagus had a great seasoning. To finish, we shared the "Hit Me" chocolate cake--a very cool presentation and fun to watch, but flavor-wise it didn't quite match the theatrics. More of a for-the-gram dessert than something I'd crave again. Helpful notes: * The space can get a bit loud, so maybe not ideal for intimate conversations. * A lot of the dishes are meant to be shared. * Definitely a place where you might want to dress up a bit. Overall, Catch is a stylish spot with a fun vibe, and while not every dish wowed me, there were definitely some high points. The vibe and the food were both great, but the manager was a significant low point. He came around and asked about our food in a way that made it seem like he didn't know what was served at the restaurant. Then after we had been charged and our credit cards had already been processed as we split the check , he came back and said they had charged the wrong ticket we had to start over again. He then brought us a bill that was much higher than the original charge. I have never had that happen in any restaurant before in my life. read more

This is a great place for dining out with your friends or a date. They have great food and drink items. Brunch was so amazing. Let's talk about decor. It is a beautifully well designed establishment. The menu offered fresh raw items. I love the oysters and sushi choices. The chicken and waffles were mouthwatering as well as the muse of Russian caviar . The grill items were flavorful and accompanied by truffle pasta, shishito peppers, and more. So many food stations that would accommodate many, looking for fresh mouth watering food. Dessert station was cute but not as tasty, however, the candy station had me acting like a kid because of all the colorful and tasty choices. I have been dying to go to this restaurant since I heard it arrived in Dallas! Tonight we went for our family dinner. It was fabulous! The restaurant itself is stunning. Our server was on point and the food was beyond delicious. We tried a little bit of everything since it was our first time...we started with the Torched Scallop Nigiri, King Salmon Belly Nigiri, Tuna Tartare and the Catch roll. This is a must.... it is so good we had it twice!! Next up we had the Hellfire Roll, Crispy Cauliflower, Miso Glazed SeaBass and Creamy Basmati Rice. I can't complain about a single thing! Wow this new restaurant is absolutely STUNNING. Each room was absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to come back for date night. We tried several appetizers including the catch roll, Caesar salad, and spicy gigli. I think my favorite was the caesar salad. The croutons and parmesan crips were delicious and the egg was a nice touch. The catch roll wasn't anything special. For our entrees, we got the filet, salmon, and branzino. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the jalapeno cucumber emulsion was delicious (I literally put it on everything). Service was great. Sincerely amazing dinner experience we've gone twice for an evening experience, and then for their Sunday, all you can eat seafood brunch both were equally fantastic. Evening dinner mood is right on with the lighting ambience and colors for a romantic yet upbeat setting whereas the brunch was bright upbeat and fun for daytime eats. The food Quality is superb sushi quality was super fresh presentation was A1 and the cocktails were well presented and tasty. The variety of the Sunday brunch for the price is completely out of this world. I absolutely would pay more for that spread and presentation. I experienced an interaction with a staff member at Catch on Sunday 6/1 that was so bizarre, bewildering & unprofessional that we're still trying to process what happened. I'll start off by saying that this was my 3rd time at Catch and all other visits have been up to par, hence the grace for 2 stars. If this were my 1st visit however, easily a 1 star experience. Upon arrival, the friendly valet staff greeted me & helped with my car door as they always have - great. As I'm going up the steps - the tall, glasses-wearing gentleman manning the entrance (whom I've seen & interacted with before in the same capacity) steps in front of me blocking my path. I thought he was going to greet me & welcome me inside but instead blurts out "do you have a reservation?" rather sternly. Assuming he's joking, I laughingly respond "well I sure do hope so! Meeting my date". With the same stern look & tone, he then says " I'm gonna need more than that, because you look mighty casual tonight." Perplexed as all heck, I look at him and say "excuse me?" to which he responds with "yea, I think it's the sandals." At this point, I am COMPLETELY thrown off and feel insulted because 1) crude & lackluster way of describing a woman's attire 2) I had just wrapped a weekend work event so I was actually business-casual wearing a fitted top & long linen pants that hovered over my CLOSE-strap leather & gold sandals (pic included) and 3) I have worn THESE EXACT sandals to the same premise wearing a dress and had the SAME MAN gleefully open the door. Rightfully irritated but respectfully, I say to him "sir, I'm meeting my husband for dinner & have worn these exact sandals to this establishment before." Noticing how disturbed I was, he then has a slight shift in tone, attempts to smile & says "I was going to let you in anyways, just letting you know that dress code has changed" as he finally opens the door. The look on my face was utter shock, confusion & distrust! I walk in, the hostess is warm & welcomes me in without even flinching & even compliments me as she guides me to my husband at the bar & then walks us to our table. As I'm walking, I glance around and spot some baseball caps, plenty of denim & sneakers combos as well as ladies in sandals! I share what had just transpired with my husband and he wants to speak to address it with a manager immediately but we're celebrating a special occasion so I ask him to let it slide. Casey who was our server was also FANTASTIC and really turned the night around for us. As we left, the gentleman was not there. Catch Management - please address this. Nothing about this interaction was warranted, professional, kind or even acceptable! As silly as it may seem, I am posting a pic of said sandals because NO WOMAN or PERSON frankly, should be received as ignorantly & distastefully as I was. Was packed on a Saturday and was hard getting to the bar for a drink. Popular place for a reason. The cocktails were sublime. I had lychee saketini and cucumber gin cooler and both were perfection. The dining room was beautiful but so loud it was hard to carry on a conversation or hear the server. It was also freezing. I had to keep my jacket on the whole time. Service was a nice balance of attentive but low key. The food is what makes this place stand out. It was out of this world! We had Madai Crudo and Oysters to start and loved them both. The Crudo was perfect bite until the end, perfect blend of acid, texture and sweetness from the pomegranate. I was sad they ran out of the angry lobster pasta but the herb crusted branzinon did not disappoint. The creamy basmatic rice paired beautifully with it. Honestly, we didn't see the Catch. The service was harsh and unfriendly -- couldn't even modify a roll to leave sauce off. For a place that wasn't busy (we were the only table at 5 PM), the lack of flexibility set the tone. The menu is strange -- advertised as fish and steak, but with very few options of either. We ordered the $98 Branzino and two pieces of salmon toro sashimi at $9 each. Both tasted fine, but portions were tiny. Add one side of rice, two Diet Cokes, $10 valet, and a $250 tab -- and we left hungry enough to cook dinner again at home. Tables are cramped with oversized plates, service was flat, and for all the hype, I honestly don't see what makes this place so popular or highly reviewed. One positive: I didn't notice the restaurant being loud, which I'd heard was an issue when they first opened, so maybe that's improved. I made a reservation for 8 people at 4 different tables and arrived early to see if they could at least put us on the same floor. They refused. This was a bday celebration and remain you there were empty tables available so there was no reason they could not accommodate us. Reservations were made the same way I made reservations so why would people that wasn't present get a certain table. I have no idea how that even makes sense. We have to sit upstairs away from guests. I wanted to just leave but could not because there were so many of my guests arriving. I won't come back where I'm not welcomed. read more

Once we sat down we noticed the dining room is pretty quaint with mostly booths with tables in the middle. Our server was very nice and explained all of their signature dishes. Super helpful as I had only been to Catch in Vegas, Dallas has their own special section of the menu. The crispy rice, the dynamite shrimp and a few other dishes. Firstly - it's beautiful inside. Easily one of the most gorgeous restaurants in DFW. The brunch is 75 per person - which is why I was confused when they tried charging 95 and arguing it was 95, only to then be corrected and change it to 75. Which was in the literal menu... and site... and social media.... Catch Miami quite literally says it's 75 as well, so..... a tad sus. By far my least favorite thing was the sushi. The nigiri was solid. Oysters were pretty good. Staff was polite and nice. Would I do brunch again? Maybe. I just don't like going to a $75 brunch and feeling like I'm being checked on every 10 minutes to see if I'm "done" despite the pain in the ass of getting a reservation, and then, they try to charge me $20 more. Absolute BEST brunch in Dallas and possibly nationally. We sat on the rooftop patio, and the decor was amazing inside as well. The food was of the same quality you would expect for a regular dining service despite the buffet aspect. The pastry was clearly freshly made either there or at a local bakery. I've been to Catch Las Vegas three times and had great experiences, so I was genuinely excited when they opened a location in Dallas. Unfortunately, my experience here fell short in a big way--primarily due to poor service from start to finish. We arrived at 9:05 p.m. for a 9:15 reservation (which comes with a $50 per person charge for no-shows or late arrivals). Understandably, our table wasn't ready since we were a bit early. The hostess suggested we grab a drink at the bar. It was a busy Saturday night, so we found a spot near the center of the bar and waited. After 15 minutes with no acknowledgment, one of the bartenders informed us, "That guy will get your order," as she was clearly focused on making drinks for the restaurant. Another 10 minutes passed with no service. She then added, "There's also a bar upstairs." I asked if we needed to move to the other side of the bar to be served and she said, "Yeah, you'll get helped faster there." We moved to the other side with card in hand, and just as someone was finally about to take our order, the hostess came to seat us--20 minutes past our reservation time. Once seated, we ordered drinks (ironically made by the same bartender who initially ignored us) and dinner. Our server gave us an overview of the menu and mentioned items would be coursed out. The food itself was great. We ordered a few appetizers, a sushi roll, and a steak. However, my roll never arrived. The steak was finished and sat on the table for over 30 minutes before anyone checked in. When I mentioned the missing roll, the manager offered to still bring it out--another 15 minutes later. At that point, we were too frustrated to enjoy it. We spent over $350 on this dinner, and while the food quality was solid, the disorganization and lack of service made it a disappointing experience overall. We weren't alone--other nearby tables seemed to be having similar issues, and the manager was clearly trying to do damage control across the board. As a Dallas local, I'll be sticking with Catch Las Vegas. They know how to run a tight ship. Catch Dallas, unfortunately, has a long way to go. read more

And then they let four women in with sandals and flips. He let me in but was very "bouncer angry". It set the tone badly from the beginning. The ambiance in the restaurant was very loud - my wife didn't love it. The food. We got the nigiri flight and I don't think I have ever had better fish.
