We did their first Sunday Brunch. It was amazing. Beautiful restaurant. Lots of delicious sushi choices. I loved the kabob station- shishito peppers, chicken, beef, shrimp and salmon. Also loved the mobile caviar cart. The waffles were good but cold. I would also say they should include unlimited mimosas , Bloody Mary's or at least an unlimited drink option for an additional price. Oh, and other than the lady who who took the reservation on the phone (she seemed to be put out and very curt) service was excellent, from the valet , the door greeting, the bartender and of course our waiter. I was so excited to try this place because I've heard great things about the food! I ended up getting to come here for a work related dinner, and when I walked in, I was promptly escorted to one of the private rooms. The staff were so friendly and helpful throughout the dinner. We were served a collection of appetizers and entrées family style. The Caesar salad was tasty and probably my favorite out of the appetizers that we were served. We then got the Bronzino, the salmon, and a steak (sorry I'm not sure which one) for our entries. The salmon was my favorite because it was so perfectly cooked and just melted in your mouth! Finally, we ended with dessert, which was a chocolate cake with what looks like a Klondike bar on the top that you break open. It was really fun and interactive, and I really enjoyed it! I really didn't want to have to write this, but this restaurant seriously needs to improve its customer service. My experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. I made a reservation nearly seven hours in advance for 8:15 PM. I arrived at 8:05 -- early and on time -- only to be told to wait by the bar until my guests arrived. Once my entire party arrived right at 8:15, I informed the host, who then told us to keep waiting because the table wasn't ready. We continued waiting...and waiting...until 8:40 PM. At that point, we decided to leave. We walked just a few minutes down the street to Moxies and were seated immediately. The contrast in service was night and day. For a restaurant with Catch's reputation and price point, this level of disorganization and disregard for guests' time is unacceptable. Visited Catch on Saturday night with some girlfriends and sat at the upstairs bar which was a vibe! Our bartender was Aliyah who gave phenomenal service. Everything we tasted was absolutely amazing -- we tried the Omakase sushi boat, Ribeye steak, and the sides of grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. We did a birthday brunch celebration for 7 people. They did NOT disappoint! We were a bit complicated with our seating arrangements (sorry about that ) and the hostess handled us like a CHAMP!! I love luxury/fine dining; however, other than the ambiance and decor, this place didn't hit the spot at all. A summary of my experience was I had an expensive meal at a nice place. I went here to celebrate my birthday on a Sunday night at 6:45. We had to wait at least 15 minutes to be seated, even though we were on time. Strike one. We ordered a variety of things: octopus, gyoza, ribeye, fillet mignon, Brussels sprouts, and mashed potatoes. The gyoza was amazing while all other items were just ok. I didn't like my fillet mignon-it was crusted and felt cool (like it had been sitting for a while before it came to the table). Strike 2 and 3- this isn't acceptable for the supposed caliber of this restaurant. Service was slow. The restaurant didn't appear to be very busy but it took a long time in between items to come out. Overall, my experience was just ok. The desert presentation for my birthday was a nice touch but not so much to encourage a return visit (I'm attending a dinner for a friend there this weekend- let's see if that's a better experience). read more

So I was going between and 3 or 4 star review, and decided to go with a 4... since they are still somewhat new. Note to others, wait until the hype dies down and you'll probably have a more enjoyable experience. My girlfriend got us reservations last week and it was for 7:15pm, we did not get seated until 8:15pm, with reservations. If our husbands wouldn't have kept asking we probably never would've been sat. The hostess told us they were still waiting on people to leave, which I can understand to an extent but I just think they over booked. We weren't even sat in the main restaurant; we were sat at tables by the bar. I will say the bartenders were busting their asses trying to keep up with all the orders while we were waiting. Our server in a way turned all our moods around. We started off with edamame, pretzel bread, crunchy rice and rainbow sashimi pizza. You can't mess up edamame, the bread was decent, the crunchy rice was really nice and the rainbow sushi pizza was honestly the best thing I ate. It didn't look like much but the flavors were great. Our friends ordered the filets and I believe they said they were good. My husband got the Wagyu fried rice and he loved it. I ordered the catch roll and the MRC roll and both were pleasantly good. I also ordered the madai and salmon nigiri. In my opinion their Asian items were better than their Americanized items. If I make it back I definitely want to try more seafood options, and other sushi items. Drinks were decent. Service outstanding on our waiters part. The place is beautiful. Portions are small excluding the rice, price of course on the higher side. Nothing was "wow" I have to come back here, but it was cool to try it out. "Catch" is all the rage in Dallas right now. It's been open a few months and it's generally packed each opening. Here's my first review. 1. Table chair seating is the most uncomfortable seating I've ever sat on in my entire life. Absolutely horrendous. Extremely hard, very little padding and small. 2. Food choices are great and the food is really good. 3. Time getting your food takes forever!!! But, when you're this busy, that's expected. 4. Noise level is atrocious. The dining area is extremely small, so you hear each tables very loud conversations BUT the music is even louder. 5. Staff is very friendly and do a good job. If you like extreme noise, being packed close to your loud neighbors and horrible seating, then you'll love it for that aspect alone. If you like good food and good service then you'll love this little diner in downtown Dallas. Finally, one must always compromise when dining in a very popular restaurant and at Catch, you will be required to compromise. read more

Seafood - was very sparse and had to go up multiple times in an attempt to get sushi and when there was some finally there, it was only two pieces. The grilled chicken, which was prepared outside, had great seating but was raw in the middle. This was true for 4 people at our table. We arrived at 5:10, opening time per restaurant site was 5. We were stopped by the doorman and told the restaurant doesn't open until 5:30. We told him the website said 5, and he said "yeah, we understand, it's been like that for a while" A high end restaurant cannot get a fix like that done quickly ? The dress code clearly states no shorts or caps. We observed 3 with either one the other or both!!!!! I get it's not everyone's preference but if you have a dress code enforce it! It wasn't a bad enough experience to not try again but expectations run high for the higher end places. I hope our next visit is more aligned with the restaurant advertising. read more

Starting off with the ambiance.. It was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for date night, or celebration. The valet is included with your reservation as a heads up and the drive up is so easy as they ask for your phone number and you can just request your car when leaving. The stair walk up feels very luxurious. I will say the bathrooms were tiny and are unisex.. personally not my favorite but that is something that as a girl I do enjoy a pretty bathroom picture moment. The restaurant overall seemed a bit small for me HOWEVER they do have an upstairs but it was blocked for an event.. which may have been why it was packed by the bar/main dinning. The service was good--our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. However, I felt rushed at times even though we kept ordering food. I ordered food to go as I wanted my significant other to try it and they brought it out to me before my main dish.. something I could have asked that I would want it by the time we got dessert but then again I figured they would make/bring towards the end. The food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend steak and sashimi which was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The desserts and appetizers were also impressive and exceeded my expectations. We had the Flight of Three for wagyu meat and it was delicious. You do have to order everything at once however they do let you add food at the end if you did not order enough.. but they encourage to order everything at once. The food was so good I forgot to take pictures. I attended a happy hour hosted by Newmark real estate brokerage firm and Catch Dallas brought out their A game. We had the Catch Roll, Tuna Tartare, steak bites with TRUFFLE and EEL SAUCE, chicken sliders, some steak wonton with a spicy Serrano sauce. The service was off the chart. They were very attentive and kept the food and drinks coming. The tables were constantly being cleared for the next round of food and drinks. The location is amazing and ambiance was great. We booked a birthday dinner for a group of 10 (which has a $2000 minimum). Our reservation was at 8 but we had to wait 45 minutes before being seated- no one apologized or kept us updated on when a table would be available and no seats or waiting area. Then they told us the kitchen was backed up so it took 2 hours before our food started randomly coming out- some of us got items, while others waited another 30-45 minutes. It took 4 hours before the majority of our food was brought out. We ended up cancelling the rest of our order because no one was hungry at that point- it being midnight now. They closed at 10 yet every table was still there at midnight because no one had gotten food. It was also SO insanely loud. They put so many people in a small dining area that you have to yell to the person across from you to talk. The food was good, the restaurant is beautiful, but it's very unorganized, loud, and slow. We are there tonight for restaurant week , party of four. restaurant is beautiful but very dark. it was hard to read the small restaurant week menu. we all decided to order the restaurant week menu for $99 per person. first course we ordered ceviche and shrimp . They were both incredible. The ceviche had pomegranate seeds and these small green peaches that were yummy. The shrimp was fried but had a delicious sauce on it. everything is family style. for second course we ordered salad ,it was amazing with artichokes and a great dressing, and for $15 extra a person we ordered the mushroom truffle pasta. The pasta was wonderful but the dish was heavy with the cream sauce so sharing it was perfect. For the main entree we ordered Branzino, salmon, and steak. All three were delicious and cooked to perfection. Dessert was two types of sorbet and small donuts with 3 sauces. The perfect ending to an incredible meal! The only part that ruined the whole experience was having to pay $11:50 for the valet. After spending over $600 on the meal to be charged for the valet seemed ridiculous!! I am happy to give a nice tip but I was mad about paying for valet. So much so that I said I would not come back very often, none of the other high end restaurants in town charge for valet. read more

Came here for a friends birthday dinner. We had a reservation for 9pm and didn't get seated until after 10pm. They gave us 3 appetizers on the house to make up for the wait. Lucky for us that was paired with inadequate service and an outstandingly bad experience. I asked for a Tito's and soda 4 times. It never came. Must be hard to make. The birthday girl ordered the sushi pizza for dinner. At a point in the night they started clearing our plates and silverware (don't worry the restaurant was NOT close to being closed) and we asked if the pizza was coming and the immediate response was "oh we will cancel that". That's great for her waistline but super frustrating for expecting to eat dinner on your birthday. Oh and I mentioned the silverware was being cleared before the pizza came? Yeah that was the only time the waitstaff cleared anything off the table. We had empty app plates and for the lucky ones, empty cocktail glasses piling up on the table and nobody in the restaurant would clear the dishes so we put them on the empty table behind us. Add me to the payroll at this point. The waiter must not have liked doing his job that night because the amount of times we had to flag down an employee and say "can you grab our waiter?" was at least 4 times.
