We were seated for our reservation promptly and given the complimentary Prosecco, which was delicious. No bread service or meat/cheese plate as other mentioned were offered. Our server was attentive and nice. Having the phones put away/ locked during the meal was fine (and a nice change), though we called several times on our way to let them know we'd be a few minutes late and no one answered. I'm a little concerned if there was an emergency and someone needed to get a hold of you they wouldn't be able to (we all have small children at home and had given the sitter the number). The man seated next to us was in an orange fishing shirt... would have loved this establishment to enforce the jacket rule for men. Pork chop, veal and chicken were all delicious. Caesar was nothing special. Spaghetti carbonara and rigatoni were good. Wine was fine. We had noted we were celebrating 2 anniversaries on the reservation as well as mentioned it when the server asked upon being seated -- zero was done to celebrate that, no dessert. Not a huge deal though if you're looking for something like this, this isn't the place. We asked for a Polaroid photo on our way out (a cute thing the restaurant does since phones are not allowed) and the woman at the front didn't know how to change the film nor work the camera ... again, strange. Was so excited to try this place for my birthday, especially after reading the reviews. Was expecting a fine dining, 5 star experience, and the reality was an empty, short staffed mediocre and overpriced experience. Walked in and no one to greet us. No one sitting at bar on a busy Stockyard weekend. Thought we entered the wrong door so started walking around to find someone. Staff finally arrived and took us to a table. Maybe 4 other tables with people sat at 7p. Should've been our first sign. Complimentary Prosecco was nice. Tableside drink presentation should have been exciting but we ordered normal bar drinks so the process seemed wasteful and unnecessary. Waitress stated her fav drink was the mezcal one. Two of us ordered. Came with a blue cheese/fig leaf wrapped accompaniment- not enjoyable especially if you don't prefer blue cheese- again wasteful and unnecessary and gross. Neither of us enjoyed the drink either. Didn't finish it. Waitress suggested the caprese - it was underwhelming. She suggested the pork chop for our main meal but her series of suggestions so far were bad so we went with the rigatoni, carbonara and b fish. All were good. She brought everclear limoncello as a "complimentary birthday" item to end our meal. None of us enjoyed it. Saying it was everclear cheapened the experience. One of our party is Italian and she was underwhelmed with the entire dining experience as well. No Polaroid was offered or taken. The place seemed understaffed and the staff there seemed as if they didn't enjoy their job or being there. Would not return and was not a special birthday type dining experience. I would give this a 4.5 rating if Yelp allowed me. Not sure what all the crazy negative reviews are about. We had a fantastic time at this restaurant and the food was amazing. I totally dig the no phones thing. Food was amazing. We had the meatballs (not on the menu), whatever salad they were featuring (it changes), rigatoni, and the veal parmesean. All great! Our meal also came with complimentary sparkling wine to start, Parmesan and I think prosciutto, and limoncello. Yes, it's expensive but I don't necessarily think it's crazy overpriced. The Finer things in life cost more. The reason why I'm taking half a star out is because our cocktails weren't as good as they could be. My martini was not shaken enough and wasn't cold enough even after asking for it extra extra cold. My fiancé's old fashioned was too sweet the first time and then just right the second. If I'm paying this much I expect the cocktails to be perfect every time. The location confuses me as well since you got men in suits and then parties of women coming to dine in cowboy boots... the parking situation on the weekend is horrendous. Don't let the lack of pictures and reviews fool you, this restaurant is Fort Worth's best kept secret! Tim Love absolutely knocked out of the park with this one! The authentic Italian food is some of the best in the DFW area. Restaurant team was SO friendly and attentive. No phone policy was a breath of fresh air - every table was engaged in meaningful conversation. Our server Shay was absolutely outstanding and made sure we had a great experience! The food is worth every penny, the drinks are great and they make them in a bar cart right in front of you, the atmosphere is New York speak easy which I'm always a fan of, and the service is white gloved; zero complaints! We made the reservation online. Did not see the dress code anywhere on the reservation tab or in the confirmation email. My wife and I were dressed in nice dress shorts. She had on a very nice blouse and heels. I had on a golf shirt. We arrived on time for our reservation. The hostess was downright rude. Immediately told me to go change or we could not be seated. I must have looked incredulous. My wife and daughters came in immediately after that. They were like "what is wrong." The hostess didn't let me answer and told my wife we were not dressed appropriately and needed to leave. Never been so embarrassed or shocked in my life. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was absolutely nothing special and looked empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were several families standing outside in shorts also refused service. I get that some restaurants have a dress code. However it was not easy to find and there was no reminder in the email we received. Further after we left I did finally find two locations online where dress code was mentioned. They both said different things. One says "blazer or jacket requirement suspended for the summer". No mention of "no shorts". In another section it says "business casual" and "summer chic". And no shorts or open toed shoes for men. Now this is a Saturday night. In the stockyards. And TCU parents and rodeo patrons all over the streets. 90% or more had on shorts. It's 100+ degrees. Business casual is a very loosely defined term that is open for interpretation. As is summer chic. I have been to many 5 star and also Michelin star restaurants in shorts. This restaurant did not even come close to the ambience in those. Save your time and money and don't bother going this restaurant where the staff and owner think they are way better than they are. I rarely ever send food back, but I had to send back two dishes and canceled our orders and went to another restaurant to have dinner. Our waitress recommended the meat balls so we ordered that as appertizer. OMG, the marina sauce was extremely salty. I could not even taste the tomato. I could only taste the salt. My tongue literally was stunted. I sent it back and ordered the fried zucchini to replace the meat balls. This dish was even saltier. I asked the waitress to taste it. The look on her face concurred with us that it was extremely salty and inedible. Had no idea what happened in that kitchen, but someone must have spilled salt into the marinara sauce and the batter for the zucchini. I asked for the bill to pay for the complementary prosecco charcuterie but the manager said we didn't need to. I left a tip for our waitress as she provided good service. I rated this dining experience with another star for the service. I am now terrified to give this restaurant another try. My tongue couldn't taste anything for a few hours. read more

I am not one to leave a low review, so this is something that is a little uncomfortable for me. However, my experience here needed to be shared as I was utterly embarrassed, and I feel they should be aware. I was visiting from out of town about two weeks ago, and haven't been to the area for about ten years. After having dinner elsewhere, I decided to try Caterina's because it looked like a nice place to have one drink before going back to the hotel to bed. Full disclosure, I was by myself as my date had cancelled earlier that evening and I was trying to still enjoy my night out. I had done no research on this restaurant prior to me coming in. When I arrived, the bar had one seat in the middle of two couples. I asked the bartender if anyone was seated there, and she told me it was empty. Once I sat down, I immediately ordered without looking at a menu. As stated before, I had done zero research, so I was completely unaware of the no-phone policy, and did not notice any sign anywhere once I was seated, nor had anyone said anything. My drink comes and I take a sip; it was delicious. Since I was by myself, and was not waiting for anyone, I had my phone out to read from my Kindle app. It is the usual thing I do if I am dining/drinking by myself. The couples next to me were enjoying their evening together and not talking to me, and I'm not one to interject into conversation unless invited. That's when the manager comes up to say hello and ask how I was. After exchanging pleasantries, he then informs me of the "no phone" policy. He tells me he has to "unfortunately take my phone and lock it up." This immediately threw me off, and the way it was presented had everyone at the bar now focused on me. I felt embarrassed and without thinking, just handed him my phone for him to put in a pouch that I didn't realize locked. Once he walks away, the bar tender tries to hand me a menu just in case I "wanted some reading material." When I said no, she walked away from the bar. So now, not only have the other people at the bar gone back to their conversations, but the person behind the bar is gone along with her manager. I was alone. I don't want to ramble on more than I have, so I'm going to end with this. I completely understand that the policy is "no phone," and I definitely respect that. As a business, that is the right of the owner to have that policy. When it comes to customer service however, something needs to change. I was at a restaurant, not a performance. I was by myself, and not waiting for anyone. I needed to be informed before I ordered my $20 drink about the policy, so that way I had a choice to stay or not. Instead, I was embarrassed and honestly, felt public shamed, over a policy I was unaware of. On top of it, was then left alone with no one to talk to for some time. It felt like being back in elementary school sitting out of recess while everyone else played. As a suggestion, I recommend not only informing people of the policy right away, but also giving them a chance to follow the policy once informed. I would've put the phone away if the choice was given. But taking it and locking it up once I was obligated to stay made me feel like a child. It was embarrassing. Ultimately, after a few minutes of sitting alone and trying to compose myself, I decided to leave. I paid $25 (added tip) for my drink that was barely touched and went to get my phone out of the pouch. Unfortunately, I had to go back up to the manager who originally embarrassed me to retrieve my property back, which just added another layer to this awful experience. I hate writing this because I love the chef of this restaurant and the policy itself wasn't my issue, it was the execution. Honestly, it'll take a lot for me to come back if I ever choose to, as well as recommend this place to anyone. read more

The manager found a table after I messed up my Drover reservation. He was very sweet and it was a Saturday night. Our waitress Michelle was excellent. The food was AMAZING.. It is unusually prepared but to me was flawless. We had the porkchop which was enough for 2 and the huge Caesar. The atmosphere is very sultry and is a good escape from the street activity. Had our Togo bag with us, even, if that matters) but walking to our car our daughters saw the ice cream place next to this establishment. This Place was closed, it had been closed for 52 min! We decided to sit at one of their outdoor tables while we waited for our daughters to get ice cream next door. A man that speaks English with an accent came out and ran us off. Asked if we wanted a table knowing full well they've been closed and just spoke to us like we were idiots. So freaking rudely! Will definitely think about spending our money out here next time. Wow!!! Amazing!!! Admittedly I read the reviews ahead of time. And I was worried as some reviews were trying to keep me from going this wonderful restaurant. I am amazed at the level of culinary indulgence my wife and I shared here. A beautiful 3-hour dining experience that was gracious, delicious and inspired. The flavors explode and the textures inviting more. Fortunately the portions are perfect for sharing (and encouraged). Staff was impeccable. We will be back and bring both in-town guests and out of town guests. A gem! The naysayers are either ignorant, tyrannical or just plain stupid. read more

Let me start by saying the Prosecco and charcuterie was the best thing we ate. Oh the piece of bread was delicious. The beef carpaccio was good. The Araceli was ok, the sauce was way too salty. The gnocchi soup was extremely salty and tomatoey and had 2 Lima bean sized gnocchi in it. The Caesar salad was presented nicely, however flavorless. Onto the pasta the rigatoni was way too salty, I think my tongue is still stuck to the top of my mouth. The bucatini was good, however in my head I heard my mom say "twirl the pasta with your fork and spoon"... no spoon provided. The branzino was overly salted and that is all you could taste since the fish was paper thin. On to what we hoped would be the star... the veal chop Parmesan was a huge disappointment, $61 and the meat was mushy not tender.., kind of like a frozen piece of meat would be, the sauce may have been the same red sauce as the Araceli. The wine was very good, however the waiter did not notice empty glasses and did not pour more, although we handled that! We were there for a birthday and the waiter was reminded of this several times and no special recognition! The atmosphere was fantastic! I've been to places in Dallas and I've been to places all over the country but the food was just so good .... the prices match the quality so keep that in mind. There is a no phone policy but I've always walked in and they let us know right away and they give us a pouch to lock up our phone. I do hate that we can't take pictures of our food because I really love taking pictures of the food and I really love the food but that's not something that's gonna stop me from eating there. Customer service is second to none. The vibe is very upscale. Gentleman must wear coats but if you don't have one they have some there that you can wear. This is my go to special occasion place. I agree with the less than stellar reviews this place has been given. The food was mediocre at best. One of our pasta dishes was so salty, it was inedible. Everything came out hot - ish. The service started out ok, but then we had to ask where our waiter was just to order appetizers. Totally not worth the hype or the money. If you're going to require men to wear jackets and take cell phones away in addition to charging high end prices, things should be impeccable. Not impressed at all and would not recommend. But this place is 10/10. Atmosphere: We went for our wedding anniversary, so my husband had his own jacket... and we'd read ahead, so we were prepared (and delighted, TBH) to relinquish our cell phones. This is a place made for intimate conversation. Dark wood, elegant fixtures. It was clubby glam. Service: Solicitous but not overbearing at all. My water glass was never less than half-full, but we weren't interrupted mid-conversation, either. Our waiter, Milos from Serbia, has amazing recommendations. We both appreciated that he recommended a four-course experience but, as opposed to trying to upsell us, suggested splitting the first three courses. Food: Wow. Just wow. We were served complimentary Prosecco, parm and prosciutto when we were seated. Then there was a complimentary mini-bread service. We split the meatballs - off-menu - to start. They were tender, juicy, and spicy... also a tad bit salty toward the end, but I'll take salty over bland any day. Next, we split a Caesar. Very generous helping. Wasn't the world's best Caesar, but I'd definitely order it again. The pasta... oh the pasta. We shared the linguine with clams, and it was ethereal. Really, really great. A little bit briny, a little bit buttery, just perfect. I enjoy sampling the whole menu (vs. my husband, who orders the same thing over and over and over at places), but I'd be hard pressed not to order this again. For entrees, my husband had the branzino. I didn't try it because I'm just not a fish person (and yes, I like clams), but he said it was flaky and he loved the herb sauce with it. I had the rabbit. It was crazy good. Spicy, sweet, sour... wow. I find rabbit meat itself to be a little blank canvas - kind of like very skinny chicken legs - but the prep was absolutely killer. This Tim Love restaurant opened fairly recently in the Fort Worth Stockyards and four of us chose to visit for an early dinner. We had checked their web site that afternoon, just to find out that a jacket was required for the men---lucky we went online. We apparently were the first ones at the restaurant and were told that use of cell phones were not allowed, that we would have to turn them completely off. They then took the phones, put them into a pouch that was then locked. To our surprise the food was very mediocre and service was only adequate. However, the most annoying fact was that when we received our credit card statement, we saw that the restaurant had increased the amount of the total bill. Did they not care for the amount of tip we left? I view this as unethical if not illegal. read more

This was a great experience! We were greeted as soon as we entered. After putting our phones in a bag, we were shown to our table. The server came right over. Kristen was great! She brought a bubbly rosé over to start and a drink menu. My daughter ordered a martini and I a Negroni. We were both given a small bite to go with our drinks, hers was a housemaid potato chip with crème fraîche and caviar. For mine, she brought over a housemaid chip with braised rabbit. She then brought a piece of Parmesan cheese and prosciutto for each of us. Then she brought over bread and olive oil. We then placed our order. We ordered fried zucchini, thin strips, lightly battered with the sauce on the side, very good. Next came the caprese salad a mixture of tomatoes, cut into bite-size pieces with some mozzarella balls with the balsamic vinegar on the top. Also very good. Then came the bucatini, perfect! I love Italian and loved the idea of no phones and fine dining. Starting out with a sport coat required for men (which is so rare any more) I expected true fine dining. We walked in and were seated fairly quickly. Everything went downhill from there. Once seated we were then brought complimentary prosecco ( was fine but 1/2 of us just wanted a cocktail) We did not get someone to take a drink order for another 45 minutes. So it was 9pm before we got a drink.... Still no mention of food. My daughter had to get up after 40 minutes and get us menus because no one ever brought one. .. Finally the waitress came back and "explained" the menu starting we had to put in our full order at the same time, we could not get any food until we had decided on our entire meal start to finish and the restaurant would pace how food came out.. We were all literally starving at this point not even bread on the table. The waitress explained we should all each order antipasti, salad, pasta and an entree. That that was how the meal was designed, just felt like an upsell. Never told us about the food or specials, recommendations nothing. Just basically wanted us to order. After placing order it was another 30 minutes until first round of antipasti came out. We tried about 5 different starters nothing impressive, basically could have been any chain italian restaurant then salad came 30 minutes after that. so we were literally at 10:30 still no entree. We did chop salad and ceasar both again chain Italian taste just bland. During this time the waitress would disappear for 15-20 minutes at a time no asking to freshen drinks, I had to ask for wine list and she brought and walked away. So at this point still no entree. so around 10:45 the entrees came out food was freezing cold. 5 of 7 had to be remade. If it wasn't 10:45pm we would have walked out . They remade food... was below average but at this point we were just so hungry. ... There is so much more I could say about the lack of fine dining, but just don't go. Don't do it. It was such a disappointment. They are there for gimick, wearing the jacket, putting phones away, etc... I have never written a review in my life but this was so bad that i felt I had to. Our group of 5 went to this restaurant for the first time . I understand why they lock up your phone when you arrive , to enjoy the entire experience. However, I am a mom with daughters away at school on different time zones and one in Europe so I want to be available. So as my phone, which was locked in a special pouch, vibrated with text messages in my purse , it actually made more nervous wondering what I was missing . I feel that they could suggest you put your phones in a basket in the middle of the table and enjoy the experience versus being forced . Service was good, cocktails were excellent, bottle of wine was excellent , food presentation was excellent, food was very good . Rigatoni was a bit too spicy but we shared other pastas that were very good . We were trying to divide up the bill , no calculator as it's in our locked phone , tried to take a picture of wine bottle , could not as our phone was locked up .
