not sure where to start other than wishing I could leave zero stars. this place had some of the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant (coming from someone who has served for 5+ years) we had a mistake on our meals and asked for a simple remake and didn't expect to be charged for the original and remake (never heard of that before). in all honesty don't consider eating here unless you want bad service, gross food, and an unpleasant experience overall. read more

I didn't love the food but I want to give it another try especially because locals love it. The concept was really cute and I'm a dog person so still saying that! Everything is themed perfectly down to the restroom sign reading litter boxes. I was bummed because when we got there they were out of a lot of things. I wanted to try the tuna melt for example and that was gone. I think I had the last cup of French onion soup because the I overheard that from the table next to us when they tried to order soup. I definitely rush ordered because I shouldn't have gotten a grilled cheese sandwich with bread already on top of my soup! But my other guests had already ordered and their food was on the way when the waitress came back to tell me that my order was not available and so I just said a grilled cheese without thinking and it sounded simple enough but if I had thought about it for longer than 0.2 seconds then I would've probably ordered something else. And it was mediocre at best. Not delicious cheese oozing out or anything. Just verrry basic. So I was disappointed and mostly myself ordering that and then it just wasn't great. And now that the areas growing a lot they probably need to step up their game a little bit because there's a lot of new competition. read more

You don't need to be a cat lover to enjoy the food, but it makes the art and decor more fun! The food came out in perfect proportions. The staff was very helpful and friendly! My daughter, a Bozeman resident, took us here for brunch and we loved it! We had the banana bread French toast, pancake, and BLT Scramble. Coffee was good and plentiful, service from our waitress was Excellent with a capital E. It's a small place, so consider dining there during the week. Spent a week in Bozeman. Was a great experience in this beautiful state and town. Ate a lot and loved it, with a few exceptions. First time for breakfast here. Had the Huevo Gringo. It was plain and below average at best. Beans were cool, dry and powdery at best. Potatoes, although piled high were plain and very plain and undercooked. But a lot of them. A small scoop of sour cream topped the pile of plainness. Microwaved cheese on top. A little bit of red salsa could be seem. No taste, no flavor and no presentation. On a positive note, the coffee was good as was the music. Recommendation.... Too many other places to eat.. don't waste time here. read more

We tried the Cateye Cafe for lunch. It was good. But there was nothing super special about the food. The chicken pesto sandwich was ok - better after I removed the bun. It turned out the bread was too big for the flavor. Once I took it off the bun, I could taste the pesto. The pasta salad was quite good. The tuna melt was average. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. There was 90s alt music playing - which was a great blast from the past. Expect to wait Saturday and Sunday mornings. This place is good. Quaint and cutely decorated with everything cats. Very sixties mixed with victorian tea party elements. Tall western ceilings in a 100+ year old brick shell with an outdoor patio area that is tucked right in the midst of downtown with suburban garden escape feel. Food is beyond compare for breakfast, the only time we have eaten there, so the food we can accurately rate. Each breakfast item is delicious. Service is great. I ate here all the time in college in the 2000s, but internet reviews weren't really a thing. Had the pleasure of eating here again for the first time in well over a decade last year when I was in town for a Cat game, and it was just as good as I remembered, although the wait was longer than I remembered but there's always been a wait. Cateye taught me the heaven that is meatloaf for breakfast, something I've made many times over the years with leftover meatloaf. In Bozeman for the day and looking for a place for a late breakfast/lunch. We found the Cateye Cafe thanks to Yelp, and it's right behind Main St on Tracy Ave. This place is awesome! We loved the cat theme, and the food is delicious. First off, they have excellent mimosas made with at least 10 different fruit juices, in addition to the traditional with orange juice. I got the Elmer - eggs, ham, cheese and spinach on an English muffin with tomato jam. My GF got biscuits and gravy with eggs and potatoes ('the ratio of gravy to biscuits is spot on!'). The hot sauce on the table had just the right amount of heat and amazing flavor. Both were wonderful and we were thrilled to find this restaurant in Bozeman. read more

I really like the atmosphere and the mimosas, but the food wasn't the star today. I had the "Come and get it" and it was under seasoned and honestly three bites in I was done with my plate. I'm from the Midwest and when you have chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken, Heinz 57 sauce is a suitable condiment to have on hand. They didn't have any. I almost brought my own from home. Ekk.... The service was weird but good I guess. I had two people helping me. One with drinks and the other with the food order. They state on the website they are taking " Covid Precautions and operating at half capacity" when my son and I were not even a social distance from all the tables around us. Literally the table behind me was so close that I had to move the table and my chair. Go for the experience I suppose, but better food could be made in your own kitchen. The only thing memorable about this was my one on one time with my son and how I kept telling my husband how disappointed I was with the food quality. read more

I definitely recommend this place. It has a really cool cat vibe. There are pictures of cats and lots of cat related stuff all over the restaurant. The owner is very nice. We've been going here for years. I take my kids there often for breakfast. The food is not expensive. The staff are very nice. There are so many cool stuff at this café. There is also a table with a brick that you could take out the wall and inside our notes from people. My family calls it the secret for it. I definitely suggest going here especially if you love cats. read more
