The food was really good. The hamburgers were cooked to perfection but there was absolutely no seasoning on it. The Tomato Bisque soup was excellent but here's my problem....you call it a Cafe but it is far from a cafe with white tablecloths and black napkins. As I approached the restaurant there was a sidewalk sign with breakfast, lunch and dinner menu on it but once inside and seated we were given dinner menus. When asked for a lunch menu was told the only thing available on were the hamburger. We were expecting a cafe menu. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was really nice. I was craving a burger and boy, wasn't I at the right place to satisfy my craving. Burger was amazing, one of the best burgers I ever had. Service was as good as the food. I asked for made in house potato chips instead of fries and even though they normally serve them with dinner - we got plate full of delicious potato chips at lunchtime. Came here at lunchtime on a Saturday. Had the most delicious filet mignon with my eggs and potatoes. Will absolutely be coming back! Met the chef too. Here's a very honest review. We've been here twice now. The food is good, the coffee is really good, and the service is excellent! The price is subjective. The short rib sandwich was incredible, a definite 10/10. The crab cake Benedict was very good. We sat on the patio for lunch last weekend, and the service was very good even though the place was super busy, both inside and on the patio. A definite must try. The chips were crispy, green salsa mild and delicious. Best part was the short ribs, not too fatty, deep, hearty flavor like it came off a ranch! The portion size was so big, I took half of it to go. Our waitress, Shelbie, was as sweet as could be, very attentive and all smiles. I ordered Multigrain Avocado Toast (it comes with a bowl of fresh fruit), my daughter ordered Belgium Waffles w/fruit, and my son the Farmers Chorizo Burrito. Wow, they were yummy!! Worst and driest short rib chilaquiles I have had in my life. The tortilla chips were so dry to the point that half of the chips had absolutely no sauce. The waiter was also awful. She didn't write my order and it never occurred to her to repeat the order to make sure everything was correct. Then when the food came out it never occurred to her to ask if anything was missing. I asked after a few minutes to see where my plate was and that is when we found out that she never put my order in. To top it off she only come by once to refill our waters. We went there last Saturday night (actually expecting more of a diner based on the cafe title) but it actually had an elevated semi formal atmosphere to it. Priced slightly above Cheesecake Factory, the portions were enough for two meals. My wife ordered the ribs and I ordered the chicken (had capers and mushroom sauce) and our young daughters shared a plate (don't remember what they had). The complementary house potato chips were great, most were crisp, some softer like fries. Very addicting. The server (sorry I don't remember her name) was very attentive and we always had refills. She mentioned dessert was included with two entrees (not sure if it was a nightly special) so we had the berry creme brûlée. It too was very good. The berry purée I only wish there was more of.
