Son's food had a hair in it, immediately ruined lunch for everyone at the table. Everyone lost their appetite. The waitress came back and said they made the cook put a hairnet on, a little to late, and that the manager was going to take 50% off the price of my son's meal. Not the waitress' fault of course. The manager brought out a new plate and half heartedly said sorry but that was it. We won't be going back. I would like to give a shout out to the woman that takes care of the salad bar, she should be running the place. Avoid this place. $24 for one cold hamburger patty on a cold stale bun, stale fries that had been cooked sometime hours previously, and the onion ring appetizer had 8 smallish Burger King sized onion rings, not the "giant" onion rings advertised. Disappointing and a waste of $$. read more

Great salad bar! Now for the entrees, steak is marginal at best , not that they dont try but i believe they really dont buy very good meat. The sauces they use are definitely microwave quality and this place has potential but have eaten here twice and same results both times. Good rolls with cinnamon butter. Also a yummy salad bar, but my entree was pretty disappointing. A 6oz sirloin I ordered medium rare was wayyy over done. It was past well by the time it got to me, and very tough. I sent it back, and I got another steak that was medium, so I kept it but wasn't very happy. Before Covid, my wife and I were regulars, we would eat dinner there every Friday, as Covid eased last summer we started going out again this was the first time we went back to, everything was like it used to be, the salad bar is the best in the region, always well stocked, very fresh, always lots of excellent sides on the bar like fresh tasting potato salad, broccoli salad, soups etc... the salad bar alone is worth the trip. Now for the bad, I experienced TERRIBLE service and food about a month ago. In a nearly empty restaurant, it took an hour and a half to get a dried out, overcooked burger with a burned black bun, there was not enough catsup in all of Oldham County to make this burger edible, my young nephew's dinner was equally horrible, and this after an hour and a half wait we left hungry I should have refused to pay it was so bad. This after an hour and a half wait!!! I complained to the owners on Facebook and was compensated a $30.00 gift card, so.... good job and thanks for making this right, but it shouldn't ever be like this, not if you want to stay in business. Which brings me to tonight..... My wife and I are seated at a booth, make our decisions, watch as server after server passes us by, not offering to take our order, watch groups of servers huddled up having long conversations, apparently joking and have a great time, making inappropriate physical contact (hugs and butt slaps), we got hungrier, watched as people were being shown to their tables and their orders are taken, food delivered, still no server has bothered to take our order or welcome us to the restaurant, we are starving. I just wanted to get a salad bar and a steak and get out, I had a lot of work to do at home, still no-one has waited on us, we are about 20-25 minutes sitting there and nothing, no server, food is being served to people who were seated after us, and still no one has bothered to take our order, I am starving and furious, so I flagged a server (I had already tried this several times... the servers here EXCELL at pretending not to see you) and a very nice woman named Tyler came over and ask us if we had been waited on, she took our order and was very kind, professional and accommodating as well as apologetic. Later on the manager came over and explained that our booth had not been assigned to any of the servers or there was some mix up or something like that, he was very professional and apologized profusely, I accepted his apology. I get it, mix-ups happen, burgers get burned, but these mistakes are coming to fast and frequently for me to consider going back any time soon. Since my first review of this location I've returned to give it another try. They effectively have addressed all the concerns I had noted and have a manager that really knows how to manage. She's very polite and personal and actually talked to me about my concerns. I was overly impressed to see the respect her employees have for her. Went on a Sunday and was seated promptly. Enjoyed the salad bar. That could be a meal in its self! Will return. After ordering, we were looking through the book of desserts on the table and noticed they have daily specials (I believe it was daily). Wish our waiter would have told us about them. Food is horribly bland. Nothing here is fresh. All frozen and reheated. It's overly expensive. Salad bar was being refilled from what looked like used yogurt tubs on a bathroom cleaning cart. Servers were nice. Fries tasted like cheap BBQ potato chips. Rolls were smashed. Water tasted like plastic. This area is surrounded by cattle ranchers. GINORMOUS SALAD BAR!! Need I say more?? Ok I will. I have been here a hand full of times. Lunch is my favorite time to go. They aren't overly busy and we have always had great service. The dinner rolls are warm and fresh with cinnamon butter. I can't turn down the salad bar with 2 types of greens and endless toppings. The house dressing is my favorite! Bottle that up for me PLEASE! I enjoy there 6oz steak cooked Medium. The flavors are great and the steak is juicy. They do a fairly good job cooking your steaks to order. I also LOVE their coconut shrimp! You get a nice size portion and they are huge and flakey. A must try. You can add a salad bar to an app really easy which is a great option. Night time is alot busier for Cattlemans so be prepared for a little wait but I think its worth it. Im very glad they opened up in LaGrange! read more

As soon as we walked in we were seated and greeted right away. I was with two others and all three of us got the salad bar with steaks and 3 different sides. Everything we received from the drinks to the service was exceptional. Looking around I can see everyone working hard and greeting customers with a smile and making rounds continuously. The steak was juicy and tasty and is one of the best steaks i've ever had (no exaggeration) not to mention there was no grizzle in any of our steaks. This was without a doubt a five star experience, the service was amazing. Birthday lunch for my mother was a success! The steak was out of this world tender and the salad bar was very fresh.

Have been several times and we typically enjoy our food. It's clean, the wait staff are friendly and professional and we've generally had a great experience. However last week we orders some chow to go and when it arrived my steak had been thrown in with my fries and the steak was cook well instead of medium. I don't typically call to complain but my wife had tried to do something nice for me by brining me steak home (she's a vegetarian) and was disappointed at what we had received. I began explaining my issue to the manager on the phone when she completed my sentence for me acknowledging my fries much have been very soggy due to the juice from the steak. (Which they were very much so) she immediately offered replacement meal which I declined. (We were already in for the night) She followed up by sending us a gift card for the issue. Not something I expected to revive to be honest. My goal was to simply let them know about the obvious error. I've called and complained before to other restaurants. But have never received the response or respect from a manager as I have received from cattleman's. I tell my employees "it's not the mistake that defines the situation, it's how you handle the mistake that defines the relationship." We will be back, many times. My wife and I both really liked the steaks and salad bar at Cattleman's. Both were top notch. Our server said all of the beef is sourced locally. We had Macaroni and Cheese and Onion Rings for sides. The sides were just okay for us. We will definitely return and if we find better sides next time I would update this to 5 stars. read more
