If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I always love coming to CAVA, but today's experience was next level thanks to Debbs! She greeted me with the warmest energy and truly went above and beyond to make sure my bowl was perfect. You can tell she genuinely cares about each guest's experience--she was kind, efficient, and had the best recommendations when I was indecisive about toppings. The food was fresh, the line moved quickly, and the vibes were great. But Debbs? She made my day. Give that woman a raise! CAVA, you've got a star on your team. I was not expecting this location to be so busy on a Thursday night! My sister and I came here around 7:30pm and there were maybe 15 people in line! We both got a greens and grains bowl but they were out of so many of the things we wanted :( They were out of tzatziki, cucumbers, fiery broccoli, pita chips, and cucumber mint lemonade. Luckily my bowl was still packed with lots of yummy items. The only part I didn't love was the person assembling our food was extremely fast and while that's usually nice, he kept asking me for what things I want in my bowl but I couldn't see what they actually had in stock because there were still people in front of me waiting for their bowls to be done by someone else so I had to keep asking for a list of what they had. Plus it was pretty loud in the line since it was busy so I couldn't hear him that well. I'll still definitely be back though! read more

Cava is simply delectable - some of the toppings can be pretty tart and overwhelming so give this place a second try if you didn't like it your first time. The first time I hated my bowl I went with a friend a second time and loved it the chicken was the way to go and I chose toppings I enjoyed. The ambiance here is quaint it can get busy and the service is good. read more

Stopped here for lunch and got a greens and grain bowl with half chicken shawarma and half falafel which was delicious. Bella and Zully helped me with making my bowl and provided excellent service! The ambiance is great as always with plenty of outdoor seating and Air conditioned seating indoors. I also got the cucumber mint lemonade which was delicious as always! I would've gave this place 3 stars if Pablo wasn't here to save the day. Let me tell you Pablo was amazing with service! Very friendly, and attentive! The place is relatively kept clean. We came back to Costa Mesa's location cause it's literally THE location that got us loving Cava from solid experiences in the past from friendly staff, and overall good vibes, however this time around some of the staff don't really seem to care enough. We've been to the newer locations like Brea, La Habra, Whittier... but they have all been a 2 to 3 star experience for us... honestly we would only come back to Costa Mesa's location if there are more staff like Pablo! Anyways I got the greens and grains bowl with super greens and grilled chicken along with all my favorite toppings, always hits when prepared by the right staff. read more

This is the second Cava I've been to, the first being the location in Irvine. The parking and atmosphere is nice, it has outside seating but it can be kind of cold. The food was good as usual, but the staffing was extra great today. Noel and Andreas were kind and answered questions we had about the food. They were really patient with my elderly grandparent too since it was her first time ordering and she had a hard time reading the menu. Seating wise, it could be a little cleaner. Richard was quick with helping and thoughtful to offer things we might like. Would definitely come back to this location! read more

Usually go to El Segundo location but I was in town and decided to stop by. Had their bowl as usually with chicken as my protein. Requested all of the items with the exception of olives. The portions were significantly reduced at this location but no biggy. I strongly recommend their pitta chips, they're bomb as heck! The one complaint I have was the cleaning less of the restaurant. The tables were in pretty rough conditions. Didn't mind wiping mine down but all the ones around me were in rough conditions. Regardless takeout is always and options and this restaurant is definitely on the healthy side. read more

I've heard so much hype about Cava so I decided to try it out with one of my close friends. It's the same concept as Chipotle but instead, the ingredients are based off of Mediterranean and Greek cuisine. There's pita bread, falafel, and tzatziki for example. The restaurant itself is spacious and there's ample seating for all, however parking is very much limited at peak hours. I made my own bowl and topped it with avocado, which came out to be around $16. Quite pricey and the portions aren't too filling, but it was still great nonetheless! read more

I was in the area and STARVING. I had heard how Cava was really delicious, so I decided to swing by. First off, I was impressed at not only how clean and orderly it was but by the friendliness of the staff. Being an extremely indecisive person, I had TONS of questions. I was so appreciative of how friendly, knowledgeable, and patient that the staff was. It was super cool when the manager happened to walk by and see me asking a lot of questions. He made sure I was satisfied with the answers given and later when I was leaving, asked my family and I how the meal was. I honestly don't leave a lot of reviews, but I simply had to for this location. I was super impressed and very satisfied. I hope this is a testament that all Cava branches are as amazing as this one was! Thank you! read more

I want to first preface that I love Cava. I am writing a review on this particular location for food and safety standards. The person making my order touched her hair... then proceeded to hand pick out my pickles when I said I didn't want them. I stopped her after the first one. She continued to use her hands to add other toppings instead of utensils. What made me realize this was a bigger issue is when she also proceeded to use the same food covered gloved hand to touch the register screen to check me out... and then I saw her go back and do someone else's food order without changing her gloves. I realized that she most likely hadn't changed her gloves at all between orders (going back and forth between the register and food handling). I had a complete OCD meltdown after I sat down. I took two bites and then threw it out. I didn't want to risk getting food poisoning from contamination. The person handling transactions should never also do food prep/orders without washing hands and/or changing their gloves. In general, this location looked short staffed and chaotic... which can lead to mistakes. This particular location needs to do a better training in food and safety handling. I will never go back to this location and warn others to do the same. read more

I Loveeee CAVA, but my most recent experience left me feeling very unsatisfied. The customer service could have been far better. I brought my boyfriend there for his first time. It was 6:30 on a Thursday night. There were 4 other people in line, not considerably that busy. The team on staff however, acted as though they were being timed to finish orders. I felt very rushed to say the least. Also, being a vegetarian I absolutely love CAVA and all the options, especially the falafel! Tonight we each got 2 falafel balls (Because we also got the roasted veggies) This falafel was not good and were the size of donut holes. So sad!!! It could have been cuz they were the last 4 in pot. But I just know when I go to the location off Crown Valley-- this is never the case. The staff is far nicer and the falafel is too. Just wish today was a slightly better overall experience. Still love the CAVA brand and business. Their food is fresh and delicious. But it is a newer food chain/ establishment so extra patience and consideration is very much appreciated. I visited the Cava location in Costa Mesa on July 4th, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite the simplicity of their job, the male cashier and male server seemed visibly annoyed and uninterested in serving customers. Their attitude made me feel very unwelcome. It's frustrating to encounter such poor service, especially when all that's required is a bit of scooping and a friendly demeanor. On a positive note, the redhead girl working there was the only highlight of our visit. She was pleasant and helpful, compared to her male colleagues. I initially decided not to write this review immediately, but after visiting the Cava in Irvine and experiencing their outstanding customer service, I felt compelled to share my disappointing experience at the Costa Mesa location. While waiting in line, I witnessed firsthand the manager, Linda's, disrespectful and demeaning treatment of the staff. Despite it being a busy time, instead of pitching in to help, Linda was standing over the employees' shoulders, creating more stress. She was nearly attacking her staff, being rude to both them and the customers. The way she spoke to and interacted with her employees created an incredibly tense and uncomfortable atmosphere. It was so off-putting that I couldn't bring myself to stay and support an establishment where such behavior is tolerated. Omg ever since I tried Cava, I genuinely feel like it changed my life. Cavais that good. I've been to multiple locations, but nothing compares to the Costa Mesa spot. From the moment you walk in, the entire staff is super generous, incredibly sweet, and so welcoming. The energy here is unmatched. Today on 11/18/2024 I went to pick up my order and this man poked his finger at me, he was saying something to the cook in my ear, looking at me and poking his finger at me as if he was discussing and saying something to him about me. The food is delicious and seems healthy (I'm no expert). The service is amazing and the positive mood is infectious. JORGE has served me a few times and always has been cheerful and very helpful. I even happened to come during happy hour, which was a pleasant surprise! I ordered the Surfin' Bird with chips, and it was phenomenal. The sandwich was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly put together. The cashier (I wish I had caught her name!) was amazing, she took the time to recommend the best bread for my sandwich, and she absolutely nailed it. Her suggestions made an already great meal even better. To top it off, I tried a 50/50 mix of the Blackberry Lemonade Seltzer and Jamaica Cider, and wow... it was so refreshing and delicious! I also grabbed two warm chocolate chip cookies, which were the perfect sweet ending to the meal. On to the food. I ordered the protein omelet with a side of crispy hashbrowns (like Dennys or IHOP), and fruit (it was watermelon and orange cantaloupe ripe and delicious). I also added in a side of cottage cheese and it was as a lot for a side add on. I needed food for my dog and he likes cottage cheese and fruit. I suggest all the food that I ate and the patio was comfortable and actually kind of pretty.
