Been here a few times. Perfect place to get a good tasting meal, while still keeping it on the healthy side. You can choose from Salad bowl, grains, or rice (brown or white). Or a mix. Then choose your humus toppings, you get three scoops, from about 6 options, they are all good. Then meat, Chicken, lamb and so on, or falafel for veggie option. Then more toppings, and sauce. I really am conflicted that I'm giving a fast-casual chain 5 stars, but it seriously is one of the most delicious options in the area, and it's healthy (to a degree) as well! I normally pop in during lunchtime, the lines can get crazy, but I've never spent more than 10 minutes waiting. My favorite is the greens & grains bowl with half chicken & half braised lamb, and they always have seasonal (which are also local, supposedly) toppings and additions that together make an amazing flavor combo. The drinks are tasty too, just like with the bowls I like to blend some of the flavors together to make a tasty treat to go with lunch. My bowl was absolutely delicious! It's getting better lately, but being vegan my options are usually very limited when eating out unless I am visiting an eatery that caters to plant based diets. I have to say I was overly pleased with the portion sizes of every addition put into my bowl. It was a lot of food for under $10. The associate that served me was very helpful in explaining how to build my bowl and explained options quite thoroughly, he even pointed out the falafel option which I had somehow overlooked. I had a Acqua Panna and an oatmeal cookie as well so my total bill was less than $15 for a healthy, fresh very filling meal! Great reliable lunch spot! Always reminds me of greek style sweetgreen. I always do the half greens/half grains bowl. I've tried the chicken, beef meatballs, falafel, and seasonal veggies as a protein. I love all of the dips (you pick 3) - crazy feta, hummus, eggplant/red pepper, roasted red pepper hummus, tzatiki and a few others. I enjoy the feta, pita chips, kalamata olive, cucumber/tomato, and dill/bean toppings on top of my bowl. There's probably 6-8 different dressings to top your food with too. Consistently tasty, flavor explosion Mediterranean bowls and pitas. This is one of the most consistently good food spots in the Exchange Place area, and I'm so happy to have them here. Mediterranean is some of my favorite food, so to have a pick-and-choose format restaurant with it is brilliant in my mind. What I mean by pick-and-choose for those unfamiliar with Cava is that you choose your base, dip / spread, protein, toppings, etc. all separately and essentially build your own bowl. I'd have to say my favorite so far has been the falafel - as far as I can tell it seems fresh and handmade. A lot of the time you'll get frozen falafel globs from other places, but here you can see that it's the real deal. My favorite dressing that I've tried so far, and let me preface by saying I haven't yet tried them all, is the yellow pepper tahini. I think that the food speaks for itself and everyone should give it a try. If you need convincing, just walk by the place and the smell alone will draw you right in. read more

I've been meaning to try this place since it opened and I work just around the block, but I usually bring my own. Well today I tried it for the first time and I'm in LOVE. It's like a mediterranean chipotle. I got the grains and greens, and a bunch of other stuff. Pricing and value is great and the food was delicious. I intended on a pita, but as I stood in a long line that went pretty fast I looked around and most everyone had bowls so I figured I'd join the club. This area needs more food options and I'm glad I came here, will be a great dinner on the way home too when I don't feel like cooking. I found the employees to be nice, especially when I didn't know what I wanted till I got right up on something. I appreciate the kindness. Next time I will try the juice too! read more

I used to love CAVA but recently it has not been meeting my expectations. There is nothing that bothers me more about a place than inconsistency... the salads used to be huge and piled to the top of the bowl but lately they are pretty pathetic looking; very measely portions halfway full. They haven't changed their prices either so I feel like spending the same $13 and getting a half ass salad now is very disappointing. I'm impressed with what they have done with this app. I had one of the best customer service experiences I have had in a long time, which was very refreshing. The server Tiara was very friendly and super knowledgeable with all of the ingredients and sauces. Her recommendation (which was new to me) turned out to be amazing! Most importantly, the business associate I brought with me who was experiencing CAVA for the first tim absolutely loved it. Although lunch lines get super long, it moves really fast. This place is such a welcome addition to Jersey City it's not even funny. This is my number one go to place for a quick lunch near my house. The food is always fresh and delicious and it's so quick. I usually get the super greens/grains base, falafel, you can choose 3 spreads (I always get red pepper hummus, eggplant something, and tzatziki (definitely spelled that wrong) and then you can get as many toppings as you want - usually I get the tomato/cucumber salad, olives, feta , califlower quinoa. You can also get dressing on top of it - I get lemon herb tahini. Four stars! But I could see this climbing up the star chain after subsequent visits! My colleague and I decided to give CAVA a try during our work lunch break. Conveniently located in Exchange Place, it's decor is inviting and modern. The long line we had to endure actually went by pretty quick as the workers here are pretty damn efficient. I went with a grain bowl with spicy lamb meatballs. Topping, dressings, and dips included tzatziki, harissa, pickled onions, and tomatoes. Excellent! If you want to eat and workout (sweat) at the same time, get the harissa. Try to review the menu before you get called to place your order. The variety of customizable choices can be overwhelming - which is a good thing. Variety after all is the spice of life! I'll be back CAVA! read more

The only nit I have to pick is that they always seem to place the dressing cups inside with the bowls which is pretty unsanitary to me. It's great, fast casual, healthy, Mediterranean food and super affordable. Tonight I had chicken and braised lamb with greens and grains and a bunch of veggie toppings and great, tasty sauces. Finally! This is like the Mediterranean version of Chipotle that I have oh so long been awaiting. The food here is delicious! I work close to here, so I love that they have the app that you can pre-order and pay on, then just pick up. You don't have to wait in line, you just go to the pick-up section and they have your order bagged with your name on it. The food always tastes fresh and well seasoned, and they give you a huge portion for just around $10. They have a nice selection with a ton of different sauces, so it makes it easy to get something new every time.
