I love cava, I eat it several times a month. This was my first time at this location and I was heavily disappointed.. I went to wash my hands in their restroom before eating my meal since I had been touching high touch surfaces before I came to eat. The restroom did not have any soap!!!! I asked an employee if they had more soap and she told me that they did not and they had ran out earlier in the day.... You mean to tell me all of the employees have been working for HOURS with no hand soap???? Disgusting. Unfortunately I found this out after I had already ordered my food and paid or else I would have flat out left. I went next door to chipotle to wash my hands. I generally really like Cava; however, today I refused to order after observing how unsanitary the staff was. I also wonder if I'll ever come back to this location. Specifically, one of the workers dropped all the lids on the floor. He proceeded to pick them up and use them to cover the to-go orders. He also failed to change his gloves after picking up debris from the floor. I hope management sees this review and addresses the issue with the staff because I'd like to come back since the food is always tasty. read more

I absolutely love this place. The line appears a bit daunting if you arrive around lunch time but the line moves very quickly. They have lots of employees working the line and can help you figure out all of the options. I have gone twice to get the same meal: a bowl of splendid greens, spicy lamb meatballs, crazy feta, tzatziki, pickled onions, feta, cucumber, cabbage slaw, and lemon herb tahini. And don't forget the pita. The flavor is amazing and robust. You will not regret eating here. Parking is a bit hard but try the side blocks. It's worth a visit. read more

I do not understand the hype about this place at all. The food is just okay. The toppings get so watery and soggy. I tried twice for different proteins and toppings to give it a fair chance. Not good at all. Also, the service at this place is absolutely the worst!!! The employees were so rude! I went to the restaurant at non-busy hours and they were very rude and unhappy. Dishonest management & staff. I have been going here for several months and have not asked for receipts. In the past couple of weeks I was given a receipt without asking and noticed I was charged for extra items I did not order on 2 separate occasions. I LOVE this place! I find myself craving it now. Lots of options to make a vegetarian or vegan meal. I like to build a salad or half and half bowl (greens & grains). The falafel is super tasty with chunky chickpeas and the perfect fried outside. The harissa adds a lovely, make my nose run, heat. I love all the toppings. Always fresh and delicious. My only criticism is that sometimes the roasted veggies are a bit too black for me. read more

They keep giving instant order to the customers who ordered onsite instead of filling the online order placed 30 mins ago. What is the point of ordering ahead! WOW! I'd walked by Cava several times but never thought to stop by. I figured it was one those trendy New York restaurants. Boy, do I regret thinking that. I went today for the first time and was amazed! I started out with the Greens and Grains bowl, which was my choice of greens and whatever grains. I chose the super greens and brown rice. I then added tzatziki, hummus, and roasted red pepper hummer. I'd recommend getting a piece of pita bread for your dips. I wanted to try the spicy lamb meatballs (they just brought them out fresh!) and the chicken, so I was able to get half and half for my protein. I added some pickled onions, cucumber, feta, chips, and yogurt dill to top it off. It was filling and delicious. Pro Tip - I'd recommend downloading the app beforehand, because it can be a bit overwheling choosing the large number of options on the line. read more

With the pandemic, I visit my office in downtown Jersey City a few times a month. Every time I visit, I can always rely on Cava for a fresh and delicious meal. Upon entering, there is hand sanitizer available. There are 6 feet markings in the floor when waiting in line. The staff are wearing masks and gloves. Service is always super fast and friendly and I'm out the door within 5 minutes. Cava is my go to in downtown JC and they have never disappointed. I've visited this Cava at least 3-4 times a month. read more

Just went yesterday for the first time!! And wow!! got the greens and grains bowl- brown rice , chicken, lettuce, tomato with cucumber , and tomatoes with red onions. Along with pita and hummus on the side. Their hummus was good and their pita bread wasnt bad just wish it had flavor- if their pita bread had olive oil & garlic or just some flavor it would've tasted way better. But on to the best part!! The bowl!! So delicious omg. Ordered a bowl for myself and afer my friend tried it she couldn't stop eating!! It's that good. Their chicken is moist and with great flavor , wish they would put a bit more though:( but still so great!!! I also really loved their tomato and onion salad, it tastes so fresh and yummy.
