I came to pick up lunch. First time, wanted to try it out, concept sounds cool, love Mediterranean food. I got a bowl with superfood salad. Love the salad options, added some lentils as the grain. On a healthy kick so have been trying to do low carb. Definitely able to do that here. The components of the salad all are delicious. I had red pepper hummus, the eggplant and the harrisa. Add on the chicken and some pickles, cucumbers etc. bit of feta cheese, and voila! A meal that was healthier than most lunches I've had, not breaking the calorie bank, and delicious as hell. Definitely coming back. Haven't checked if they delivered, but I may also do pickup after work for dinner. Great to have this in the neighborhood. I love in downtown JC and come here regularly. The food is extremely fresh and absolutely delicious. The combinations you can create and the different sauces you can add offer so many options with a huge burst of flavors. Try the lamb meatballs with rice and salad/ various toppings. This is the worst place you can go for picking up anything. Food is good but the staff is so rude. I went on to pick dinner and asked for half falafels and half chicken. On the billing counter the lady said it's not half portion and throw the box in dustbin and made me another bowl with half portion (as per her thinking). YES! I've been waiting for something like this to open up in JC. My husband and best friend have been raving about Cava for months and I never got the chance to stop by and try it. When I found out one opened up in JC, I had to go. I love this, much more so than Chipotle. To me, Chipotle is too bland, it lacks the flavor that I'm looking for. Yes, it's healthy, but to me, that doesn't mean it has to be bland. Cava is my idea of a heathly meal with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. The concept is very similar to Chipotle - you choose what you want to start and add protein, dips and sauces. I personally love the greens + rice mix (normally spinach with brown rice). I love the hummus, harissa and tahini as dips. The harissa is spicy! It doesn't initially hit you at first, but it builds. The tahini sauce is a great balance for it, so I recommend getting those two together, especially if you're not used to spicy sauces. I personally like my dressing on the side. I sampled the Sriracha Greek Yogurt and the Lemon Herb Tahini. I love the SGY, it's so delicious and has a nice kick. Lemon Herb Tahini is good, but it's nothing amazing. I don't find myself having to go back to it or raving about it. Overall, I love my experience at Cava and you do get a good amount of food for the price you pay. I personally think their summer drinks are overpriced. I tried their Jasmine tea, but it's not worth the $3.25 they charge for a large. Their bowls on the other hand are FIRE and I will be back for those! read more

I recently visited this Cava in Jersey City and was blown away by the exceptional experience I had. The atmosphere was inviting, with a warm and welcoming ambiance. The highlight of the visit however, was the amazing AGM who went above and beyond to make our experience a memorable one. My daughter has autism and was having a difficult day, but Joshua I believe his name was, approached her in such a kind and understanding way. Despite some stares from other customers, who were rather rude. He was patient and assured me she can take her time and everyone else would just have to gladly wait. He explained every single item on the menu to her and even let her taste their sweet potato. Which by the way was her favorite. I was in awe of the care he put into making my daughter's day special. He made sure she got exactly what she wanted and went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable. The staff was equally warm and inviting, adding to the overall positive experience. They were so friendly! I would highly recommend this Cava to anyone seeking a great dinning experience. Joshua combined with the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, make it a top choice for anyone seeking a high-quality dinning experience in a fast casual at home setting. This is my absolute favorite place to eat lunch. It's a little on the expensive side, but I always think the food is worth it. I love the dips, I think the meats are well seasoned, I like the dressings, I like the drinks. I love pretty much everything about this place minus how long the line can get during the lunch rush. Food was OK, but this rating comes from the service (or the lack of). The female running the counter was extremely rude. It was our first time, so we obviously had trouble choosing what to put into our bowls. If they had better labeling of the condiments they offered, it would've been better. Anyhow, she kept being pushy and rolling her eyes when we were hesitating for even half a second to choose what we want in our bowls. At the end she just started putting in random shit into our bowls before we even started choosing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Either train your employees better or get rid of them if they can't perform a simple service role for minimun wage. read more

I love hummus. If you love hummus, you probably won't fall in love with this place. The hummus options are all pretty flavorless, even though they are different flavors. And although it is marketed as a hummus spot, you hardly get any in the bowl compared to the rest of the items. I'm use to an entire bowl filled with hummus. Here you get three small ice cream scoops of it, so it's more like an afterthought than the main attraction. The falafel is dry, hard, and pretty bland. The ratios are pretty off when they deal out food, I've noticed. The only good thing is that the "toppings" are unlimited. Overall, at least give the place a try, but if you love hummus and can live with making a decision just based on my love for hummus, then skip this place. read more

They are ALWAYS forgetting something in your order at this location- If i place an order for pickup - I'm doing it to spend less time in a place full of people due to Covid. I dont want to have to go through my bag to make sure everyone's meal is correct and complete. The APP is horrible because I can never review my order and when I email CAVA about it they tell me too bad. How hard is it to put the side pita in the order?
