Decided to try CAVA after reading several comments on FB that It was very good place to eat Mediterranean food. Ordered the Greek Chicken salad bowl with all the standard fixings. Was impressed on how both young ladies behind the counter placed the toppings in the bowl. This dish was absolutely delicious as the mixture of the toppings and chicken were so favorable. Since the food tasted so good on the first visit decided to go back for a second time. This time two young boys were behind the counter. The placement of the standard fixings were all just thrown in the bowl. The dish was favorable but didn't have that Wow factor as the first time. Perhaps it was the disappointment on presentation. So happy to have a healthy delicious and reasonably priced place to grab a quick bite! I love all the options for any type of diet restrictions anyone may have (lactose free, vegan, etc). You can dine in or take home, everything is very clean and organized and the staff is very courteous! Except one skinny white guy who made a rude comment "there's a lot of $hit in that bowl" and "Theres just so much dressing in that bowl". His comments were certainly not welcomed. I eat here regularly in Austin and thought this location was even better. Our server was super friendly and patient, and it seemed cleaner than the ones I usually visit, except for a sticky floor. The food was flavorful and delicious, as at the other chain locations, but I didn't see a trash can near the drink and utensils station and needed one there. Maybe I just missed it. Every single order I've made online they've gotten wrong, from forgetting proteins, toppings to even sending 2 salads with absolutely no dressing, and don't even ask for the complimentary pita -- you'll never get it. I've been to this location 3 times and each time my meal has been delicious! Seems like a lot of the negative reviews are for carry out or pick up, I've eaten in all 3 times so I can't talk to those services but the staff gets you through the line and eating fast. I've tried almost all dips and sauces and my favs are the garlic and skhug (jalapeño) sauce together. Dips I recommend crazy feta (so good!), roasted eggplant, tzatziki. As for meat I prefer their falafel! It's very good for a "fast food" chain and recommended. Super flavorful and brings nice texture to your bowl or pita. The lamb I've had was a bit dry each time and over cooked so I stay away now, and falafel is just so good I can't get anything else! Their side pita is a great completo the bowl but you gotta try their pita chips. Lightly fried pita with a nice crisp adds a nice dipping tool to your meal. Overall I do recommend Cava! It's a nice reprieve from the ordinary fast food and gives everyone a taste of a different culture they may not have tried or been adventurous enough to try! read more

I was looking for something delicious but yet healthy to eat with my son for dinner the other day. I heard about CAVA opening in Kingwood, but never tried it. So, first, I looked at TikTok videos to watch how to order at CAVA (which was absolutely helpful). I learned that you can order like Chipotle, but there are certain limits for the items (base, veggies, dressing, dip, etc.). For example, for dressing, you can choose two. You can get two of the same or order two different items. For veggies, you can get most of the items included. I added extra pickled onions because that's what people loved on TikTok and yes, I loved it as well. For protein, one chicken item is spicy and the other is not. I had the non-spicy chicken and that chicken was cooked to perfection. I loved the marinade too. Literally every TikTok video raved about the pita chips. In your order, you can add pita chips to be sprinkled on top of your food, but you can also order pita chips on the side. The most important part of the order was the dip. You can get various dips like roasted eggplant, regular hummus, or roasted red bell pepper hummus. You get 3 very small scoops. CAVA also has items you can just order. You do not have to individualize your food. They make it easy for people who just want to order a bowl and list the ingredients already added to the entree. What I really liked about CAVA was that they have a great app. I was able to make changes to my menu as I order and not feel pressured to make a decision at the restaurant. I loved their saffron rice. I mixed it with veggies. Also, I really liked their falafel. Very moist and flavorful. I have had some bad falafels where it was very dry or hard. CAVA falafels are the best I have ever had. Out of the dips I have tried, I was most excited about the eggplant dish, but I liked the traditional hummus the best. My bowl was $11 and I was able to only eat half of my bowl. Their portions are huge. I also didn't feel like I ate something bad. You can really control how healthy you want to eat. First of all let me just say I'm so glad I ate here! Like really! I didn't know we had a place like this and the food was delicious! With a concept similar to chipotle but in no way short of casting it's own shadow of being one of the best places to get lunch in Kingwood. I walked in and was greeted with smiles and friendly faces. Also Chase, who I later found out is the manager of this fine establishment walked me through the entire process of creating my order. Both kind and patient as I read through all of the helpful prompts for the food options, sauces and toppings. He was informative and knowledgeable about the ingredients (Vegan and Vegetarian friendly) in each option and even gave recommendations. But let me tell you about the food! Fresh, delicious, and everything paired well! I was a little afraid of the choices I made not settling well together in the bowl, but let this be your encouragement to choose the sauce and option that sounds good to you. Trust the process because it works out. Very tasty and distinct in flavor, I recommend the honey chicken as it wasn't super sweet but paired well with the tartness of my sauces. It was quite busy, as I went around lunch hours but the service was quick, friendly and personal. The staff worked diligently and everyone maintained the cleanliness of the restaurant during breaks in between customers. From stocking and tidying the drink area-- which I recommend their homemade Strawberry juice; it was refreshing! To the serving area, wiping up any misplaced food. The pricing is very fitting. I had a bowl that I couldn't finish in one sitting, fresh warm pitas and a drink for under $19. If you're like me and constantly craving something fresh and flavorful, please look no further. My one-star review reflects a combination of at least three different meals eaten at Cava. Whether one can be pleased here depends entirely on whether you like hot (as in spiciness created by chiles, or red peppers, etc.) food or not. My husband loves hot food, so he is entirely happy to eat here. To make him happy, I would be happy to eat here frequently, if I could only find something that is not too spicy. Whether it is listed on the menu as spicy or not, there is no protein source on offer which is not too spicy for my palate. I have tried to no avail to hand-select each item to put into a "bowl" where no item is hot, but it simply isn't possible. I can't understand why this establishment simply doesn't care that one portion of the public is forever excluded from their customer base. There are many people who don't like, for example, blue cheese. Would one have a restaurant where every single dish on the menu included blue cheese? I come regularly since "discovering" them in the late summer 2022. The food has always been delicious, clean and healthy. The price is very fair especially considering the good food quality and satisfying portions. The staff is very friendly and make the ordering/eating-in experience even better. Even the patrons seem to be more relaxed when dining here. Parking is never a problem. My only complaint is that tipping is not allowed, which makes me feel that Cava management looks at themselves as a fast-food joint like Mickey Ds or Burger King (no offense to both). But I'm sure patrons like myself would feel even better if we could tip the awesome staff and show our appreciation of their service. Still, I 100% recommend this restaurant. read more

Decided to give Cava a try since I hear good reviews. I stopped by this location with my mom and we walked in to an empty restaurant which is understandable because it is the day after Thanksgiving. As we approach the serving line, there is no one there to greet us or take our order, we skim the menu and decide what we want and are ready to order. The five minutes we looked over the menu, there was an employee in the kitchen area reviewing some paperwork and another going back and forth between the swinging doors, slowly the employee coming through the doors of the kitchen makes her way to a box of gloves and slowly puts them on and seems as if she was ready to serve us but then the phone rings, she walks away from the serving line where my mother and I stand patiently waiting and her and the employee from the back both go for the phone. The employee from the back answers the phone and the other with the gloves stands there with her and listens in on whatever the call was about, and then with her gloves on begins to touch things on the counter and pick up a piece of trash from the floor...after they complete this joint phone call, they proceed to have a conversation... I stare at them blankly because obviously my mother and I have to be invisible. She must've felt the energy from my staring our eyes engage and she confusingly says "do you need something?" I simply ask "Are you all serving customers or are you all closed"? She replies "we're getting ready to..." The one with the gloves pulls one off and acts as if she's about to change them.... By this time my mother and I are over it and I was no longer interested in trying the food here... I would hate to see what the service was like on a busy day as I've seen the amount of traffic other locations receive. I won't be giving this one a try ever again and my mother said she is done going there as well and she really hyped the place up but now she is not longer enthusiastic about spending her money there.
