Everything was exceptional. I had lunch special course for $35, miso soup, cucumber salad, toro hand roll, and Lavi roll. Every dish was fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. The quality of the fish really stands out. The restaurant itself is small but beautiful. The ambiance is modern sleek, and elegant while still feeling warm and welcoming. Our server, Peter was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, which made me feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. It will be my new regular sushi spot from now on.

Place is nice looking, but somewhat tight. We were seated at a tiny table for two and the pacing of dishes was infuriating, as pretty much everything came at once and the table was so cramped that it was uncomfortable. Glasses, plates, ice bucket, and then the sushi plates... I hated it. The sushi was good, and it was attractive to look at, but nothing really blew us away. Service was friendly, but she simply wasn't a great server. Final problem as that our Sake was a different price on the check from what was listed in the menu. When I mentioned it, she just said, "oh, we got new menus." I mentioned that wasn't the point and that it wasn't okay. She didn't seem to get it. So, beware of something possibly shady going on. Not bad, but we won't return.

Such a cute, cozy, and family run sushi spot. We ordered the: bluefin nest sashimi, rainbow roll, atomic roll, yellowtail serrano roll, spicy tuna on crispy rice, plus shishito peppers and edamame. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Service is consistently great, reservations are easy, and the staff is friendly and attentive.

Lovely, cozy and clean atmosphere. I sat at the bar and the Chefs were very friendly and professional and attentive to me the entire time. Matt is an exceptional server and gave me the absolute best service and recommendations. He took care of me throughout my entire visit. Never felt rushed during my time there at all. The sushi was fresh and the plating was very tastefully decorative. My favorite was the Yellowtail Serrano! Definitely will be coming back again!

If you are looking for a sushi place with fresh fish, this is the place to go! We had great service and food presentation. It's also super cute for a date. I would definitely recommend this sushi spot! We ordered the salmon, lime, Evergreen, onion bloom and baked baby lobster roll. They were all super delicious! Make it a day and go shopping at Bloomingdale's and pick up some sweet treats at Porto's across the street.

Definitely a top sushi spot in the area. I love this local, family-run place operated by a father and son! The menu is full of fresh, delicious options. While the rice was ever so slightly overcooked and a bit bland in my opinion, the quality and freshness of the fish more than made up for it. Many places have nigiri that tastes the same due to similar ingredients, but not here--each piece had its own distinct flavor. I also appreciated the reservation option; our table was ready the moment we arrived. The interior is relaxing, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Our drinks were always topped off, and the servers made sure we were well taken care of. Parking on the street can be a bit tricky, but there are plenty of nearby parking structures and lots available.

Finally a sushi place that combines quality fish with a nice casual atmosphere and great staff! The edamame was warm and perfectly salted. The unsweetened green tea came with an edible flower, and they have lunch specials! The nigiri was to die for. And they had gf soy sauce. I will definitely come back and try their other lunch specials. Delish!

For a date night out, we chose Cavi Sushi in Glendale, and were NOT disappointed. Not only do they already have a great run of reviews (over 200, for a 4.8 star average at the time of our visit), but they lived up to EVERY expectation. Street parking was...well, street parking. But overall it wasn't at all difficult to find a spot within easy walking distance. And the walk itself takes you past a number of upscale businesses and other places you may just want to come back and visit. I know we will! Cavi Sushi passed "new sushi place test #1" with flying colors. It didn't smell like fish when we walked in. IYKYK. For those who don't know, if you smell fish when you walk in...walk out. We were seated right away (our reservation wasn't at all needed), and the service was polite and prompt. The interior is very well decorated; quite classy. Even the chairs were a step up: cushioned and very comfortable. The menu was straightforward. We selected some nigiri to start with (salmon, salmon belly, unagi, and red snapper), and a couple of rolls. Everything was delivered quickly, and with beautiful presentation. And the flavor...the freshness...OMG. It was perfect. The nigiri were excellent, and the rolls were outstanding. I loved the Atomic roll, and my lady was very happy with her choice: the Yellowtail Serrano roll. Check out the photos! As with most sushi places, the beer selection was slim. But they did have some decent house wines available, and a glass of cab added a touch of magic to our dinner. Make Cavi Sushi a regular for your sushi outings! I know we will.

So so delicious! My boyfriend and I were in search of a new sushi spot and my goodness, we are so glad we found this place! You have to try the atomic roll! Spicy and tasty and all the right flavors! The salmon lime roll was fresh and citrusy--my favorite! Honorable mention to the spicy tuna crispy which was also a standout! The onion bloom roll was on the salty side but the crispy onions were yum! Everyone was very friendly and the chef was awesome! Casual ambiance, great for date night or to catch up with friends!

We tried a few cut rolls, and the yellowtail and salmon stood out as our favorites--super fresh and full of flavor. The fish in general was really fresh, which made a big difference in every bite. Prices are a little on the high side, but the quality mostly justifies it. Service was quick and friendly, which we appreciated on a busy night. The ambiance is cute without being over the top--there's a whole ceiling section covered in hanging flowers that gives it a fun, Instagrammable vibe. It feels modern and stylish but still casual enough to relax in. It wasn't too loud, even when the tables filled up. We parked in the nearby lot that gives 90 minutes free, which made things really easy. Definitely a good spot for a date night or casual meet-up with friends. If you're sushi-hopping through Glendale, this one's worth a stop. I'd come back just for that yellowtail roll and will probably try more speciality rolls next time.

5 stars all around! We went for dinner after 6:30pm on a Wednesday. No wait and we sat at the bar. Man... the salmon nigiri was soft and rice was perfectly cooked. We also had the black cod hand roll and it was perfection. My husband got the spider roll and cavi albacore and loved them both. I loooooove the sushi, my favorite is the Salmon Lime. Its the perfect mix of citrus-y and smooth. The atomic roll is also very good. The service was great, can't complain. But the food was horrible compared to anywhere else we have tried. The crispy rice tuna was stale and so chewy. The phili roll had no taste and it wasn't the freshest. The only item we actually enjoyed was the baked salmon. There was also an issue with flies, there were so many flies around our food. Peter D., our server, did an outstanding job of bringing the delectable and authentic as well as delicious 2 octopus with sushi rice nigiri and specialty rolls!!! My husband ordered the nigiri and really enjoyed eating it!!!!! He has traveled to Japan 5 times so he knows authentic Japanese cuisine!!! He especially loves any kind of octopus dish even takoyaki which he ate the last time were recently in Japan. The Baby Baby Lobster Rolls were so very delicious and yummy that I ordered 2 of them!!!!!!! The Snowman Rolls were equally delectable and very reasonable for the huge portions!!!!!!! All of the specialty rolls were very generous in size!!!!! Everyone was friendly as well!!!!! We highly recommend this hip restaurant in Glendale. The ambiance is very contemporary with comfortable chairs. Their crab is real and not faux like so many Japanese restaurants owned by Japanese owners and Japanese restaurants owned by Koreans. I was a bit disappointed with my sushi I had tonight. From all the items we ordered I only liked a few. Let me start off with the appetizers. We started with the edamame the flavor was decent but it needed more sauce. Some of the edamame were dry with no flavor even though we got the garlic edamame and asked for it spicy. I thought they had some sort of spicy sauce they could've added but they just added crushed red pepper if I knew they were going to just add red pepper I would've got the regular garlic edamame . We also ordered the cucumber salad I'd pass on that to it did not have enough flavor. I think if they marinated the cucumbers in the sauce that it came with the flavor wouldn't have been so weak. The spicy tuna crispy rice again it was alright nothing special was not a fan of the rice having seaweed in it. The spicy tuna itself had a decent flavor. The sashimis we ordered were the albacore crispy onion, the yellowtail and the red snapper carpaccio. The albacore crispy onion had a weird taste and the fish was a bit fishy. The yellowtail was very different but the sauce was missing flavor. The best one was the red snapper it was citrusy and so tasty. That you MUST order if you come to this restaurant. For rolls we got the tuna lemon roll this was good I would order it again. The abouri roll was whatever I'd pass. The atomic roll also tasted pretty good I'd order it again. My favorite thing was the red snapper and black snapper. I will say the best thing they have on the menu is their snapper. All the items we ordered with snapper was really tasty. The food was overall alright I'm not sure if I'd return it was nothing special. Our waitress was very sweet and gave us a lot of recommendations but the service was very slow. The ambiance was nice and the restaurant was clean. read more

WOW! Some of the best sushi I've ever had! The toro is reasonably priced as well! And it was SMOOTH. This place will forever go down as one of my favorite sushi restaurants and I've eaten at a TON across America since it's my favorite food and I travel for a living.
