Affordable and honest. Cayes won't do work that doesn't need to be done. Relaxed vibe. And my personal bias is that I can easily walk there.

Caye is the best. He's always taken great care of my car and they are very quick with the turnaround. A little gem in echo park.

Terrible customer service. Called on Saturday afternoon and the lady who picks up was unfriendly…read morefrom the start. She asked for my license plate number and after confirming it wasn't my VIN number that she needed, right when I was about to tell her, she says "give me a minute" and places me on hold for over several minutes. I assume maybe I was forgotten and she had something urgent to do but when I called back, I was put on hold the second someone picked up and without a word. Just left in a limbo. I recommend anyone needing parts to just go to AutoZone instead. They were friendly and helped me out ASAP.

I have been working on cars for nearly 20 years…read more I called the store on Thursday 01/29/26 to order brakes for my car, as mine had exploded catastrophically -- leaving me stranded in Los Angeles and reliant on my girlfriend to stay alive, as I live in the OC and she stays here in LA. When I called the store to order my brakes, I was informed that I was unable to order a part over the phone and must come into the store (without a car apparently). I have never had an issue in the entirety of my time as a customer with O'Reilly Auto Parts, in placing an order over the phone, and going to the store to pickup and pay for my parts. The store manager, Alex, decided it would be fun to play games with me when I called him, and told him his policy (which I have never heard of until that day, and has never been "enforced") didn't matter to me, and I found it inappropriate and discriminatory. After much back-and-forth, where Alex attempted to gaslight me over the phone in an effort to pretend I didn't order the assembly for this vehicle for the other side of the car a week prior the same way -- which I have receipts for and are also available in O'Reilly's POS database. He also thought it would be **funny** to lie to me and tell me that my parts would take two days to order and show up at the store, because they had to "come from Arizona." No worries, I was given a total and told to report to the store to pick my parts up at 10:30AM on Saturday morning (2/1/25), which I did, and not surprisingly, Alex hadn't ordered my parts on 1/29/25 -- for "some" reason. No worries, I let the associate have a piece of my mind and re-ordered the brakes AGAIN from the store, however I was informed it would only take 5 hours for the parts to reach me this time (as in they were not being shipped from Arizona as Alex claimed). When I showed up at the store for a 2nd time, at the suggested time for parts delivery (4:30PM) my parts were still not there, so I confronted Alex verbally about it: He told me that the part I (thought) ordered on Saturday, would be on the same delivery truck as the part I had supppsedly ordered on Saturday -- when I called the O'Reilly on E Lincoln Ave in the OC, and ordered the part for a third time -- I was told by that store manager that parts were coming from Stockton -- not Arizona. Alex also told me that the caliper core was unacceptable, despited being presented a factory brake piston part stamped with the Audi badge, Germany, and Lukas in addition to having a piston -- when I took this core to AutoZone they accepted it without incident or comment. Alex it seems, was just trying to take from my pocket, he took zero time to examine the core. I believe he is incompetent and has never worked on cars in his life. This is hands down the worst and most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced after being a customer for over a decade. Additionally, this has personally affected my life and relationships, as Alex has wasted time that was not mine to waste. I expect immediate remediation, and I warn anyone with sense not to do business with this O'Reilly.

I didn't want to risk shorting out the lights or anything else so decided to look for headlight replacement. I had no idea that they were so expensive. I shopped around for used ones. I went to a guy who was selling them for 1/2 of what Factory Express was selling them for. But after seeing them in person, did not have a good feeling about the seller or the headlights. So decided that I'll bite the bullet and buy from Factory Express since the guy over the phone sounded like he knew what he was talking about. Upon arrival, the person I spoke with turns out to be the owner Edwin. One look at his shop and I knew that this guy knows what he's doing. He asked if I was looking for just one or a set. I told him that I wanted a set because I wanted them to match since the other one is pretty dull. He said he can buff out the other one to match the replacement. After taking a look at the wiring, he said he can save the headlight. Edwin is honest and I would recommend him to anyone looking for parts. He's passionate about cars and knows his stuff. He'll try to save you money where he can. I definitely would recommend him!

(Shopped 06/23/26 TU Between 12:00pm-3:00pm): Third time was a charm while buying auto parts all in…read moreone day! I was introduced to TriStar Auto Parts by my family's longtime maintenance man when I was trying to get some repairs done on my 2005 Honda Element aka "The Toaster". He's been here several times before since his mechanic friend has recently been doing some work on his vehicles, one of them coincidentally the same exact model as mine. I wasn't a car guy at all although I appreciated them. However, I never took auto shop in high school, and I've personally only done the bare minimum when it came to maintenance and repairs for any vehicles I've owned. Otherwise, I always took my cars to the dealership or private mechanic and hoped for the best. Now that I had access to a mechanic someone could vouch for, I was ready to give him a shot. But in his case, the client had to supply all of the materials while he provided all of the labor. Would this neighborhood auto parts store be a shining star in my search for items to fix my Toaster!? PURCHASE(S) Rear Brake Lightbulbs ($3.99 x2): Cheap enough and very easy to replace myself! Pre-Mixed Coolant ($15.00): The main reason behind the need for a mechanic to access my vehicle had to do with issues I was having with the thermostat and possibly the radiator. So, I bought this just in case the radiator needed to be topped off or flushed out. I loved that it was pre-mixed versus the non-mixed version I was used to. Coolant Sensor ($28.95): Thankfully, the thermostat wasn't the issue with my vehicle, so we returned that part and got this instead. I guess once you approach 200k miles, this original part has to give out eventually. Basically, the temperature gauge would suddenly shoot to a critically-hot red level while I idled at a stop light or stuck in traffic. This new part fixed that uneasy feeling. Replacement Air Filter ($14.56): Mine was somewhat filthy, so since the mechanic was already under the hood and working in that area of my vehicle, it just made sense to replace it. SERVICE We were immediately greeted by a couple of the workers behind the order counter. Since my maintenance man knew the people, he took over and requested the parts for me each time we were here. Thankfully, they had the parts we needed at seemingly very affordable prices. And when we had to return something because we didn't need it, it wasn't an issue. Everything was straightforward (honestly, everyone's primary attention was glued to the TV while the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches were one - lol) - thank you! PARKING (FREE): They shared a smallish lot with a few other businesses. Otherwise, there appeared to be spots (potentially metered and/or timed so read all posted signs carefully) along the main drag of Sunset Blvd. - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A somewhat cluttered purely functional and practical warehouse of multiple auto parts organized in aisles, rows, and shelves all behind the front order counter which you couldn't pass. Don't let the aesthetics bother you; it's what kept the rent and prices down. Decent natural lighting entered through the large front door while soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights covered the rest. There was one TV while Spanish music quietly played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was very thankful for TriStar Auto Parts being around and nearby for my vehicle repair needs. They carried both original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and similar parts depending on your budget. If I were to have taken the Toaster to the dealership, I could only imagine what they would've charged me! Now, I knew I had a cheaper option both with their prices and my maintenance man's mechanic as my car is over 20 years old. In addition, they seemed to have or, if necessary, could order any part you needed, and the service was friendly, informative, and straightforward. And, I always preferred to support any small mom & pop business. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $73.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Thankfully Tri Star is here! They also have almost any parts you need at a pretty competitive price. The staff have always been easy to work with and most importantly get you the parts you need. The inside is pretty straight forward as far as a counter to ask for parts and one to process your payments. Don't expect your typical Autozone with isles of car care products, this is a no frills pick up your parts and go to work. I always check here before going to the chain auto parts stores. This is a secret gem in East Hollywood for all you DIY mechanics out there!

My first time here and it was just terrible service and the value of the oil change is not worth it charging over 150$ for a quick oil change and you can't even service your customers timely. Ridiculous how you completely blow someone off and told them to move their car to a different area and didn't even come back to help me! just sent me somewhere else to not even help me and wait in line to be helped by miguel who started to show urgency only AFTER i asked for his name. it's funny how people treat you different when they know they might be in trouble or being reported. i don't want people to lose their jobs but i want customers to know if you come here 1. appointments don't matter, you'll get helped when they choose too. 2. overpriced oil changes anywhere else you're paying 100-120 max. 3. customer service is non existent unless you act as if you're going to report something. it's sad because i live down the street from here and i would've come back because of the distance but instead of that i'll be going somewhere else. 8:37am review posted and my car hasn't finally touched down into a bay to get serviced, after having an appointment at 8am! edit: 8:48am still hasn't done anything to my car but bring it into the bay and leave it there while they work on other cars edit: 9:20am and they are finally finished and i'm going to pay. 1:20min wait for something that took them 10 minutes to do so realistically i could've been out of here 8:15-8:20 give or take. just ridiculous!
