I can't even say enough wonderful things about Carly! We used Carly Daniel Photography for our engagement photos and our Wedding Day and we were sooo happy that we did! All the pictures were amazing! I am very critical of pictures of myself and don't think I am very photogenic, but we have already gotten all of our engagement and wedding pictures back and I can't decide which ones I want in the album and/or printed b/c they are all so beautiful! Carly took photos of our family this last year for our Christmas card. It was actually a sort of combination "pregnancy announcement" plus family Christmas card photo. We ended up with quite a few more photos than we anticipated as Carly did some additional shooting with our 3 year old son. She got him to act silly, laugh, look good, etc. The shoot was in downtown Huntington Beach - on some walkways around 5th street, alley behind main street, etc. Carly knew the locations well. She was thorough in all of her email correspondence, she was on time for the event, and she came with not just her camera but with a box of fun props for us to use in photos, for no extra cost! She was so easy and fun to work with, I felt like she blended in with our family and friends perfectly. She was great at rounding up the troupes to take posed group photos when needed, but then mostly did behind the scenes candids, and you hardly ever noticed she was there taking photos! Her professionalism and the amazing quality of her work was incredible, and for such a great price. We had her for four hours, and she was (if I remember correctly) was $175 an hour-- but we got ALL of our photos through weransfer. My fiance and I just had our engagement shoot with Carly this past Saturday, and we cannot wait to see our final images!!! We already had one engagement shoot which was very formal and traditional, but I knew I wanted to have a more personal and fun shoot which is where Carly came in =) I found Carly on The Knot and contacted her, as well as some other photographers, but through our conversations through emails and facebook, I quickly felt comfortable with her and knew that I wanted to have a shoot with her right away! Prior to our session, she kept in touch with me, asking what kind of styles I liked, encouraged me to bring props to add personal touches to our shoot, helped me with ideas of what to wear, and what I loved most (and what I think all photographers NEED) is that she sent us a session guide, telling us what to expect, what to wear, and how to prepare for the shoot. Our shoot lasted about two hours, and she brought along her husband to assist with lighting and props. Immediately, she was so warm, fun, and energetic, and we chatted throughout our session about wedding details, her past wedding and her gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown, our love for Betsey Johnson, and even college (we found out we had a mutual friend who went to Chapman with her)... small world huh? She made sure we were comfortable the whole time during our shoot and encouraged us to interact naturally, although she was always there to provide direction and guidance. Coming from a family business of wedding photography, you can tell she has had a lot of experience with the camera, and she uses it well! I love that she is so knowledgeable about what she does, yet is still so young and fun to work with! She found inspiration in almost anything and kept throwing out new and different ideas with us to play with... she told me it was important for her to continue to explore different ideas, different angles, and different ways to take shots in order to stay new and relevant and not get stuck in a "rut" which I think is really important in the world of photography. WOW!!!! Just like every other customer of Carly and Chriss, we are truly grateful for her skills and help. We only planned our wedding about 7 months in advance and needed to move quick. I was looking through many websites for a good photographer and did not like the vendors our venue listed and wanted us to use. I came across Carly and saw amazing reviews and decided to go forward with it. My wife and I met with her fairly quickly for a sit down and to discuss price, styles, and general information. Her outgoing and personable personality made it easy to break the ice in the beginning. She was very understanding of our budget and needs. We could not be happier with what we got. She also did our engagement photos which included our 2 daughters. She knows some great places to take photos based on your desires. Let me put it this way, our venue requires people to choose from their vendors including photographers otherwise you might have to pay a penalty fee of $500. We were so thrilled about using Carly and Chriss we didn't care about the penalty as we wanted the photos to be amazing. They were just that, about 4 weeks after our wedding we got our photos and could not be more thrilled on how they turned out!!! On the wedding day her and Chriss showed up early to capture photos and they knew exactly what we wanted and how to get the best photos in the most efficient manner. They helped coordinate operations during our wedding and honestly didn't intrude on the wedding. They stayed in the background and captured amazing photos.
