Decided to use CC&R Construction, Again!! Our house is at that stage where it needs a more 'current' look. We wanted to install a bookcase under our stairwell, making good use of an otherwise boring wall. After setting up the appointment with the office staff we were on our way. (You may have to wait a week or two but worth it for an experienced, professional team) Jeff and Craig are detailed and hard working.. and..they love my Golden Retriever!! I felt comfortable having them in my home during the entire process. The end result is even better than I had imagined! We have a beautiful wooden bookcase complete with lighting! This company was recommended to us through usaa after we had a huge kitchen leak. Everything started out great despite having a bad adjuster and then it all went down hill once we started to rebuild. All our project manager Moses cared about was his how much money he could make off of us. Between the 2 no shows when we were scheduled to meet, trying to up sell flooring well over $4 sqft above cost, then shorting me over $200 on my credit check. Trying to tell me it would cheaper for me to pay someone on the side to installed the tile that he had me buy out of pocket d/t the extra paper work because i went above the a lotted amount per sqft. Then on top of lying about why one of his contracted employee didn't show up, stating he was in a car accident, which was not true. Called the owner bill multiple times with no return call and no explanation. If you choose this company watch your numbers, unless you want an unethical dishonest company that just wants to take your money, then choose them. read more

If I could select negative stars I would! Never hire this company!! CC and R construction did some work on our house and did a HORRIBLE job! They do the absolute minimum and on top of that they are rude! We had a lock box so they could access the inside when they needed to. I have come home TWICE to the keys being left in the deadbolt in the door. I mean come on! The second time I took the lock box away!!! Never hire this company! read more

I had a leak in my laundry room on 12 September 2017 around 10pm, upon isolating the leak and contacting USAA, they assigned CC&R to assess the damages and provide an estimate for repairs. The following day, CC&R (Moises and his crew) were in the house inspecting and provided my wife and me with a damage report and an estimate. After uploading the pictures and estimate to USAA and once approved, Moises and his crew started repairing the damage floor, sub-floor and downstairs ceiling (Kitchen). After they pulled up the vinyl in the upstairs bathroom, a second leak (unrelated to the first claim) was discovered and was advised to contact USAA for a second claim. Gaby (Project Coordinator) was very helpful through the whole process, from day one, until both claims were repaired and closed. My wife and I are very satisfied with the customer service, the outstanding work that CC&R provided from day one. CC&R is highly recommended by my family and me. They came all the way from San Diego to Murrieta each day until the repair was complete. Each day, they didn't leave my house until my wife and I were satisfied with the daily project, they were organized and cleaned, no mess was left out. We've been working with CC&R through our USAA insurance because of a leak we had that caused mold in our living room & they have been so great to work with! The process started with Kevin heading up the clean up portion and making sure the area was clear of mold spores before starting repairs. He was great at communication and making sure the area was contained and cleaned. Then Bill the owner came out for an estimate and he was very kind and thorough, emphasizing the importance of our satisfaction. Was happy with his attention to detail in estimating repairs for dry wall, carpet and paint, not only through the area affected but up the stairs and into our loft area (score!). Once estimates were approved, I've had the pleasure of working with our assigned project manager Moises who's been out twice this week and caught even more details that needed to be addressed in the repairs. Gabby has also been a pleasure to work with in the not so fun part of paying our deductible and in starting the process initially. By far, the worst Contracting Company I've ever dealt with. The job was overdue by at least six months. Many times one individual was sent to work, no crew, no additional person...one individual. The work was average at best. The worst was never knowing when they were coming. Would say they were coming, which required schedule re-arranging, and not show up. When called, often they would say they are supposed to be there, didn't know what happened. As far as the paperwork is concerned,what a nightmare. Figures never matched billings, if any billings were even sent. When questioned, received another stack of paperwork - again with no figures matching - incredibly frustrating. Still no resolution to date - Would absolutely find a different contractor - Do not waste your time and/or money with this company. read more

I had a great experience with CC&R Construction. I had a flood in my condo after a water pipe burst, and these guys were right on it! Rob, Jon, Brittany, Moises and everyone else guided me through the mop up and reconstruction whereby my place looks better than ever! Anytime I had a question I would call and if they weren't available they would call me back almost immediately. I would highly recommend them to anyone! We had a ceiling collapse in our home that not only resulted in water damage to flooring, walls, roof, ceiling, attic but also had water damage to other areas of the home that thankfully did not collapse. Our insurance company found a 24 hr Contractor at random that specializes in these type of disasters and repair and man oh man am I glad they did. From the absolute beginning until just a couple days ago, Peter Keating (Project Manager) and his team of PROFESSIONALS along with owner Bill Covington have been nothing but compassionate, knowledgeable, helpful, and above all else, extremely proficient in what they do. We were referred to CC&R through USAA for mold remediation. We had a window that had been leaking for some time. The contractor Brett comes out first and then we hear nothing for weeks. The mold people want us to drop everything the second they call and complain to our insurance company when we don't. Finally, they get in and clean out the mold. We still have received nothing from the contractor side of CC&R about repair. It's like they have two halves of a company and don't speak to each other. That's a bad way to do business. The owner Bill came out at one point, again, unannounced and asked to look at the window. I was literally walking out the door but I let him go into the backward to look. Didn't hear anything about that after that. The mold guy Kevin broke my box fan and right in front of me says he will order another from amazon on his phone but it never showed. They picked up their stuff and leave my bedroom a mess with rusty nails in my carpet, staples, and damage from the tape on my walls and ceiling. We never hear from them again until a month later they want to charge us for repairs they never did or quoted us for. Horribly mismanaged company. Will never use them or recommend them to anyone. Our insurance company helped us through the whole ordeal and agreed they will not be using them in the future either. read more

Thank you CC&R. Phase II of the restoration of my house is now complete. Without hesitation, I rate this entire project Five Stars, from the initial coordination, scheduling, workmanship, project manager weekly follow-up, and daily cleanup and final results. Like any restoration, one is curious and may have doubts on whether they have the right contractor(s). I had that feeling prior to the start of this project, but I thank my insurance company (USAA). They recommended and selected CC&R for the restoration. We are very happy with the final results. I'd like to comment on the workers we had. Like any company, sub-contracting takes place at some point. I must say, the workers we had were totally professional and the workmanship was very good. I enjoyed everyday coming home from work and having the opportunity to watch them and mostly learn. From the water mitigation and drying, removal of drywall and replacement (got rid of that pop-corn ceiling), re-painting and replacing the flooring, everything went superb. I had a lot of opportunities to converse with every worker we had. I think that was important because it built a relationship as if, they were working on their own home. They took pride in the work they accomplished. It was that good and I am thankful to the be recipient of a project that went textbook style. I HAD NO ISSUES. So thank you Peter (Project Manager), Carlos (Worker and Crew), Shawn (Flooring), and Gabby (Office Rep) and yes, even Mr. Covington (CC&R) who came by to check on the site project. I don't normally write reviews but this company certainly understand customer service and deserving because of the outstanding reconstruction they've done to my rental property. My insurance company recommended CC&R and I am glad that I agreed with my insurance company's recommendation. Since I'm 500 miles away from my rental property, CC&R owner (Bill) and his outstanding staff kept constant communication with me and kept me abreast of what the status of the repairs without having to personally go to the property during the entire reconstruction. Bill was very receptive w/ all the insurance claim documentation and communication. Moises attention-to-detail went out of his way to replace the dishwasher that could possibly become a problem in the future. I had a massive water leak that damaged about 40% of my home at 9:30pm. I called Bill at CC&R and they sent out a water mitigation team right away (within 45 minutes of my call) and stated assessing the damage and putting fans and floor vacuums to save my hardwood floors. I did have to leave my home for about a month because the ceiling in my downstairs kitchen/Living room was pulled out to be dried and the drywall replaced and the master bath tile floor had to be pulled up. Their work was very efficient and they took great care to be sure none of my furniture or any of my beautiful flooring was damaged. They tarped when needed and draped plastic to contain the repair to only impacted areas. The very most important thing for me was communication. They provided daily and sometime more often as needed communications with the terrific Project Manager Peter! Thanks Peter! They also processed and pre-approved all the work with my insurance company - much less paper work for me!!! Pater coordinated all the sub contractors and worked within our tight timeframe to get the work done right the 1st time. CC&R was engaged by owner's insurance company and they worked as slowly and unpredictably as possible while violating every consideration for our personal property and domestic integrity. Our custom stainless steel island top was ruined and, under their "supervision" our personal property was vandalized. They promised to "make things right" and then never compensated us for what they ruined and broke. Their "supervisor" was never on site (why all the different daily workers had no idea what was going on) and when they were done with the tile work they did, they forgot to seal it!! They were well paid to pack out kitchen belongings, and left some things out to get dirty and when they packed in and just threw things randomly back into the cabinets said "well, we're not a professional pack-out company" Yet they were paid to make a total mess of our things. As another reviewer said - there were days with one or two people were there (most times different guys every time) and many many days with NO activity whatsoever. They were told to NEVER use the garage, but not only did so, but left our garage open on a rainy day while hauling debris out through it. They left trash and cigarette butts around outside. Their "clean-up" afterwards was ridiculously minimal and they never followed up. They didn't clean the screens of the drywall dust residue, nor many other areas. They used the new stainless steel kitchen sink during construction and scratched it and left it dirty. In short (since this is long) they lied (a lot) vandalized our personal property and acted like a gang of thieves. Cannot believe USAA works with a company like this. What a racket. read more

My wife and I had a significant flood at our condominium. Until one has gone through such an experience, it's difficult to articulate the challenges associated with such an event. Tony M., Bill C. and their office staff did an outstanding job working with my wife and I throughout this most difficult process. Don't get me wrong. Working through construction and repair projects as a homeowner, especially associated with an insurance claim, is not for the faint of heart. However, CC&R really helped us from the beginning to the end of the process. Their assistance included, although was not limited to, working with the insurance company, assisting with the mortgage lender initiated requirements, meeting us multiple times on site, near continuous phone contacts and the repair work itself.
