We stayed at the 5th avenue hotel and dined here on a Friday night. A few hours before our reservation they called to let us know they were not serving alcohol and asked if we still wanted to keep our reservation. We said yes but they called at least 2 more times to ask the same thing, it became annoying. It wasn't busy at all, we were sat quickly. We started with the fried zucchini and then i got the pizza and my husband the cacio e pepe. The zucchini was a bit bland. The pizza was so dough-y and the pasta was nothing special. Stars for the Saturday bar crew here: I was solo for the moment, seeking respite from the rainy-day downtown hurry-up, so I ducked up from the R train at 28th to find a seat at this classically-appointed, Italian-inflected hotel bar/bistro. It had the calming hum that good hotel bars provide. The three folk in the bar staff were pleasantly in control, attentive at the right time, and friendly - they went the extra to find the drink I was after, and a lighter too. Made a reservation on the fly, for something in the area, and were pleasantly surprised by the top notch service, the food quality, and the cozy atmosphere. Kudos to the kitchen and management. Despite being a Wednesday at 9pm when we sat down, the kitchen continued to put out top quality dishes with passion and attention to detail. This is a true Italian "bistro," with jazz music playing overhead and a hip, upscale clientele. Our server, Dana, was full of personality and took great care of us - and recommended excellent dishes and even a bottle of wine off the menu. Food was great, but service was not good. We are a group of really pleasant and friendly guests, and we felt like an inconvenience. The hostesses and food runners were so warm and friendly, but the 2 servers we had made us feel like an inconvenience and very rushed - despite a number of empty tables. They seemed pretty unhappy - while taking our initial order, we asked for a bottle of wine and a bunch of appetizers and asked for a couple of minutes to decide on our main course. Our server tersely replied "we only take full orders" and walked away. She returned about 15 minutes later to take our full order. We understand if that's a policy, but surely there is a friendlier way to relay that information. Dishes were taken away with food still in them without asking. This is in NoMad, not Flatiron area as it states on Yelp for some reason. It's located off the lobby of The Ned NoMad Hotel. I dined here the other day on a cold rainy day as I was staying at The Ned. I've been to Cecconi's West Hollywood often and its other location in NYC one other time. My experience was excellent from the moment I arrived. Although the location was not bustling as I would expect (totally due to the crappy weather), I was pleased with my night. The food was outstanding as usual. The Whipped Ricotta was just perfect and my Brazino was spot on as normal. Service was attentive and A+. Love that it's also owned by Soho House. read more

This restaurant unfortunately gave off a commercialized vibe more so than a genuine Italian restaurant. I suppose that should've been known given it's in places like the Soho house or even has a location in Mumbai, India. The ambiance is nice, the portions were decent, the service was lacking, and the prices were high. The waiter's upsell techniques came off as scripted and greedy like being recommended wine bottles double the price of the one I originally asked for. They also seemed a bit inexperienced. After tipping 20% on the screen the waiter dashed away without a thank you or good bye. Not sure if I tipped poorly or what but it's the first place in a while that's left a bad taste in my mouth. went to THE FEAST this past Sunday - what a huge disappointment. The crowd was a mix of "all you can eat red lobster" people combined with 17 year old sub par models that wished they were back at The Coffee Shop in the 90s. The manager/promoter (not sure) was more concerned with sitting these kids and watching the rest of us eat to calculate when we were finished (assuming so he could take our tables?) than giving the half full tins of food a badly needed stir. The food was unbelievably disappointing - you couldn't get a piece of lobster if you tried, as people were stacking their plates 10inches high, and going back 4- 5 times. The pictures you have seen on their website and social are extremely misleading - the room is much smaller, the food tables are half the size they seem, the dessert offering is something I wouldn't even remember. My guess, unless they up the price, pick up the service, stir that food and monitor the lobster situation , is it won't last...the one good was the music - kick ass band, really good. read more

Went there for a good breakfast and conversation. First-rate food diminished by outrageous pricing. Offered still or sparkling water, no offer of tap. When we said "still" they brought us a bottle and charged $9. Coffee refill? $7. Diet Coke $7. Food was similarly expensive, although fine. Eggs ($20), bacon ($9), muesli ($18). Total $91 (and they did deduct the $9 for the water when we complained). If you're on an unlimited expense account, sure, go for it. Otherwise, lots of other great food/less expensive alternatives. In thirty years of NYC restaurant dining, never before has the experience been more undermined by the hard-to-imagine-even-in-this-city cost. read more

We went there for my daughter's birthday on November 10th. We waited a long time for our entree which was fine. then the maitre'd came over and practically told us to leave. understanding that we were there for 3 hours but could have been handled better. Had the worst meal and experience here. One person at our table was served her entree 25 minutes after the rest of the party was served and it was inedible. The manager came up to us after we had been there an hour and a half and ask us if we wanted to have a drink at the bar because there were people waiting for our table for 25 minutes. Overpriced and underserved. Also an overwhelmed and untrained staff. When a hostess moves a party at the bar to make more room so another party can fit (and the restaurant can profit more), you should comp something. When a head barman micromanages his staff, despite not being on his A-game either, it's unnerving to witness as a guest. So disappointing. I don't mind paying exorbitant prices for a breakfast, but when I come to a hotel restaurant and they tell me they don't have half and half for the coffee!  WTF.  And the hotel guest I was with told me they didn't have it the night before either.  There are 100 bodegas within 10 blocks of the restaurant.  Can't they send someone out to buy a 1/2 gallon of half and half! read more

This was my first time visiting this establishment. I was invited by an out of town friend and arrived a little earlier than my friend. I was asked if I had a reservation 3 times and want sure if I did. The condescending time the host took with me rather than checking just left me to wait in the lobby until my friend arrived. When we were finally seated in this empty restaurant we were greeted and rushed to order within the first 5 minutes. This did not resemble any fine dining I have ever experienced, but felt more like walking up to a fast food order. Finally when things were arriving we kept getting interrupted asking what else we would like to order. I didn't understand why they were so insistent or adding on so much in one seating. My friend had a laptop and was showing me something when who I assume was a manager came over and sternly said there was a no laptop environment. We kindly said ok and put the laptop away. Then she proceeded to scold saying that is just the way it is. Which neither of us rebuked or questioned. Then we were ready to leave as we felt rushed and unwelcomed. Getting the bill was also awkward and done in a condescending tone. The items are average at best and the crockery was dirty. I think this place takes itself way to seriously and is focused on pretension than food or service. It is a pity as I am a regular at Soho house and thought being a subsidiary I would receive a similar experience that endures me to that establishment. read more
