    Fasano Restaurant Table
    Melanie O.

A Shockingly Disappointing Anniversary Dinner My husband, who is Italian-American and loves Italian cuisine, and I chose this Italian restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a reservation for 6:00 PM but arrived early, around 5:30 PM. The restaurant was nearly empty -- of more than 30 tables, only a few were occupied. For over 20 years, we have frequented luxury Manhattan restaurants, always receiving VIP treatment and consistently leaving generous tips. At the entrance, an African-American female receptionist greeted us. I complimented her, saying, "You look really beautiful," and politely requested a nice table since it was our anniversary. Despite this, she seated us at a dark, isolated corner table by the wall. Many bright, spacious tables were empty, and it was both frustrating and disappointing to be placed there. I didn't want to sit there, so I cautiously asked another waiter, "Could we move to a window table?" He kindly assisted, and we moved, which improved the evening slightly. However, the receptionist's initial attitude remained shocking. During our two-hour meal, the corner table she first gave us remained completely empty, while about 70% of the other tables were occupied -- making it obvious that her claim of it being the "best table" was false. After finishing our meal, I politely told her, "Today is our anniversary, and I specifically requested a nice table. I am extremely disappointed that you seated us in that corner." She did not apologize even once. Instead, she looked me straight in the eye and arrogantly said, "I have worked at reception for three years, and I decide which tables are the best. That corner table is the best table." But that was untrue -- the table remained empty the entire time. I was upset by her rude words and told her frankly, "You shouldn't be working here." Shockingly, she responded by saying, "You're low class." She repeated it to my face twice. Her behavior was utterly rude and unacceptable. The receptionist at this restaurant did not act professionally. Her inappropriate comments and behavior, as well as judging customers based on personal bias, influenced the table assignment." I have been to many high-end Manhattan restaurants over the years, and I have never encountered such arrogant, unprofessional, and disrespectful behavior from a receptionist. Even when mistakes occur, a simple "I'm sorry" shows basic respect to guests -- but she had none: no empathy, no courtesy, and no hospitality. I couldn't shake the feeling that I wasn't treated with the same respect as the other guests. This evening, which was supposed to be special and joyful, was completely ruined by her behavior. I sincerely hope this review reaches the restaurant management, and that proper staff training -- or disciplinary action -- is taken. An employee who treats guests in such a rude and dismissive manner, especially on a special occasion like an anniversary, should not continue working here. Potential guests deserve to know about this experience so they can decide wisely.

The service, food and restaurant were all great. Came here with some friends and we all ordered our own plates and tried bits from each. Everything was delicious. I ordered a glass of red blend wine which was delicious. I wish I got the name of it, but I'm sure when ordered again I can find it. I started with beef carpaccio which was delicious. My friend ordered the salad with pear and goat cheese which was also delicious. I tried the arugula salad and that one I thought was nothing special. The striped bass was delicious! It came in a sauce which was so so good and cooked perfectly. I also tried the halibut which was tasty, the king crab ravioli which was really fresh and the spinach ravioli was good as well. The beef tartar was a little too grainy for me. Overall we had a great time. The service is top notch and I will be returning. Oh and there's a jazz lounge upstairs which was great!!

Big beautiful space great service incredible wine list. Fairly reasonable for a prefix restaurant of this caliber it's a three course and the third course is not a dessert.. The Dover Sole was delicious. The beef carpaccio and shrimp carpaccio also very tasty and so was the rigatoni wild boat. The only disappointment was the Vongole didn't taste as fresh as it should. Baretto fun jazz club upstairs.

This restaurant had a classy and refined atmosphere. The service was slow, which was a bit disappointing. The food was good but was nothing special. There are better restaurants that have more attentive staff and amazing food, but if you are looking for a "fancy" Italian restaurant, this is the place for you. Not pictured in my review: Tortina della Nonna (which was very good, wasn't too sweet)

One word describes Fasano to me: elegant. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is creative and intentionally plated, their service is thoughtful, and the restaurant is quiet so you can really be present with your party. This is definitely a place for a fancy meal, and there seemed to be a lot of corporate groups as well. I enjoyed the fresh bread selection, the artichoke salad, the tuna tartar, and the chicken a lot! I didn't find the desserts to be as strong, but I was barely hungry at that point anyway! Keep Fasano in mind for a quiet, delectable meal if you're looking for a special occasion.

We came here on a Saturday night for dinner with two other couples. Upon checking in we first walked through the bar area which was quite large and completely empty. The restaurant itself was more lively but still didn't seem packed. Service was quick and attentive throughout the evening. For dinner I started with the Insalata di Carciofi and for my main I had the Pollo. My salad was great as was the Paccheri alla Fasano that we ordered for the table, but my chicken was lacking. I can't say exactly what was wrong with the chicken except that the flavor was off and I really deeply did not enjoy it. My husband ordered the Gnocchi and the Ossobuco which were both delicious and he generously shared with me. Would come back here but would not order the chicken.

When Michelin Guide announced a list of restaurants up for awards in New York, it was no surprise that Fasano made the list. Fasano is the epitome of fine dining specializing in Northern Italian cuisine! Tip - Finish off your night with a cocktail and a live jazz show at Baretto, an elegant bar perched above the restaurant.

Found this restaurant on Resy which was featuring a Baretto music performance by Hilary Cole upstairs. The ambiance was great- very high class place for sure, but the waiters were very considerate and understanding and tried to make us feel comfortable. One thing we ordered was the burrata- really good, really creamy with walnuts. Best thing I ever tasted as an appetizer. For main course, we got the ofelle ossobucco and ravioli granseola, both great. I tried the Darjeeling tea(my first time), and it was surprisingly good! The bathrooms are hugeee.

Treat yourself to VIP treatment at Fasano Restaurant. After a luxurious dinner, head upstairs to Baretto for Brazilian jazz and more. What a special experience you'll have!

"The restaurant exudes an old New York charm with its dark panels and private partitions. The service was exceptionally attentive and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious."

    Spaghetti chitarra

Amazing, moody ambiance. Service was formal but very friendly. We had made dinner reservations for Osteria but ended up sitting in the Main Restaurant as the menu looked more interesting and as Osteria looked a little relatively empty. Loved the menu, which had an extensive selection of classic seafood, pasta, and meat dishes - very similar to what you would find at a nice restaurant in Italy. The veal tonnato was one of the best I've had and we greatly enjoyed our spaghetti chitarra. Definitely check out the bathrooms when you are here! The urinals in the men's room were a work of art.

Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy.
