Unfortunately, we won't be back. We've given this place a couple of chances now Since the supply issues we were given a list the time before what they were out of. Happen to be a good portion of the menu choices. This time we noticed a theme with us and several tables once you're seated and order the server comes back to tell customers that they're out of one thing or the other. They advertise all you can eat shrimp/flounder of course after the order was submitted they don't have all you can eat. Just the regular shrimp plate for $3.00 less which was not a good size portion for the price. The sides are oversized to compensate the visual product. Bland and not seasoned.. I'm from Louisiana..it AMAZES me how restaurants don't season food here in Inverness ( not talking just spicy ) but overall. read more

We're from Atlanta, first time. My auntie took us to this place which she loves. Nice atmosphere, found out more Seniors come here. The waitress was nice and respectful, on time. Cedar River is a family small family owned local chain restaurant. It had been open about a year, before we finally tried it, and now it's pretty much a go to place for us for seafood. The restaurant is very casual, but the plates and silverware match, in fact it's quite welcoming and very clean. Not much flair on the walls, like the other seafood spot in town, but we go for the food, not the stuffed animals. It's usually busy, with reasonably priced lunches, and very lovely dinner faire. We've been there several times, and service has been very friendly and prompt We have sampled a lot fo the seafood offerings and sides from the menu and have not been disappointed with anything. The Hushpuppies are stellar, and the mashed sweet potato, is a must try. The seafood is wonderful. The fried offerings have a very light batter, and is particularly flavorful, without being greasy. The fried shrimp is particularly good. Right now because of the Covid-19 virus they are take out only. We ordered a Senior Seafood feast for 2. It was ready in about 10 minutes and more than the two of us could eat, and it was all very good, and there is enough left over for lunch tomorrow. I highly recommend this place, I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Such a great place! I live two minutes from here and never tried it till now(a year later). I'm floored with all the food we got and it was so good! They offer a variety of food many different ways. They even have a two person platter that has so much. We couldn't even finish it. The server was great and loved that everyone was so friendly. read more

The food here is average to above average America style seafood with a Florida flare. The dining experience is retired casual to off the boat relaxed. I really enjoyed the Florida crab cakes. They have a bit of spice to them, but not heat. The crab was definitely noticeable and fresh tasting. The fried flounder is good, but the breading needed a bit of seasoning, so I tried the broiled and it was better. The fried gator tail appetizer is one of our Florida favorites. It is tender, spiced just right, and really doesn't taste like chicken at all. It tastes like gator should taste, like alligator. It's a mild firm meaty textured protein. The fried shrimp, oysters, and grouper were crispy on the outside and not over breaded. They tasted perfectly cooked. The sides are pretty good too, especially the baby lima beans, okra (fried and stewed) and collard greens. If you are hungry for seafood (especially Florida style) you'll get plenty on your plate to share for the price. We ordered 2 dinners and shared, and had plenty to take home to snack on. The only downside is the building it's in. It is old and needs repairs. It looks like it has been there since the 1960's (definitely 1970's) and could use some help. The inside is way too open to sit and casually socialize as a night out. It is set up with table next to table with no divider walls. Good for getting your customer in and out in a hurry, but not good if the customer wanted to sit and converse. Don't bring a first date here. This is more for the couple who has been together a few years and just want to eat and stare into each other's eyes. You can get a beer, but there's no bar or drinking atmosphere going on at all. It's a restaurant plain and simple. I think this is one of the few places in Inverness to get a full seafood menu with a lot of combinations available. They also serve land lover items too if you don't like seafood, but I can't say how they taste because I have only tried the seafood options. Fear None, Love All, and Eat Well. read more

Really like this place but when the special is all you can eat flounder and they bring you a very small portion and have to wait to order more. By the time you next tiny portion is here all your other stuff is coLd. My food was all gone before my husband's 2nd SMALL portion was here and I eat slow. Now waiting for waitress to come back so he can get a 3rd little portion so friggen stupid. If they just brought enough the 1st time he probably wouldn't even want more. I think they do this to piss you off so you don't order anymore. Well we won't order anymore because we won't be back. Waste of money also the filets were so small sardines are bigger. read more

3 hungry bikers walk into a seafood place at lunch , get the best waitress and service we have had anywhere . We and our neighbors went for dinner this past Wednesday. They had never been there. We have been coming here for about 3 years and have never been disappointed with a meal. I had the grouper and as usual it was delicious. Our neighbors had the grouper and boiled shrimp. They were amazed at how large the portions were and how delicious the food was. I was visiting from Ohio and my father took my son and me to this restaurant before we went out on the lake. We did arrive before they opened and we were greeted kindly at 11 AM there was a fresh clean bottles that were cold of tartar sauce cocktail sauce and ketchup at the end of every table. I ordered the all you can eat shrimp with coleslaw and baked beans my father ordered all you can eat grouper with baked beans and coleslaw and my son ordered a half pound burger with black beans and coleslaw. I can tell you that the shrimp was amazing heart fresh melt in your mouth goodness. The big beans you could tell were fresh homemade and the sides were prepped with care the coleslaw also was homemade fresh it tasted good but it wasn't amazing but it was still a good light side dish with this and the hush puppies were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The blackened grouper was amazing not over done not too much space in my fried shrimp was just a white crispy coating and wasn't over taking this shrimp. The only reason it doesn't get five stars Is because my sons burger was lackluster and it did look like it was purchase pre-frozen at a store I understand that they have to have some meat options for the non-seafood lovers and their main focus is fresh seafood the burger was edible but it did lack the astounding quality that they provide for seafood. If I get to visit Florida again I will definitely be back!!! read more

Came in for late lunch/early dinner.... big mistake! They were out of many items including Cole slaw ... r u kidding me ?!?? That's the only reason to come here. Then my meal was as bad as can be . Cold brown mealy baked potato , barely fried shrimp, nasty salad with tasteless 1000 island dressing and watery Tatar sauce. All I could hear was the server telling everyone at the tables around us what all that they were out of and when other diners groaned she replied "well it's not my fault I just work here. ". Man this place is soooooo hit or miss ! Shoulda left :( Giving one star only because it's been good in the past and I'm hopeful this was a lapse in management which will be rectified. read more

We were there once during Covid and have not been back. We had just moved to the area and is super close to our home. Needless to say we have NOT been back. Poor food quality and greasy food.
