Wally's FINI Pizza Review: The One Time I Got Left Behind…read more Let me set the scene: normally, I go everywhere with my parents. Breweries? I'm there. Brunch? Obviously. But this time? Dad went off with his friends, and I got stuck at home with Mom, who was busy doing "important things" (whatever that means). I had a feeling something delicious was happening without me--and I was right. Dad came home with FINI Pizza from Amagansett--the one hyped up by the Barstool Sports guy. Naturally, I perked up. This was my moment. But here's the truth straight from the source (aka me, the dog who smelled it all but tasted none): They got two pies. * The regular pie (half cheese, half pepperoni) had great flavor, but the edges were well done. Like, bordering on burnt. The center slices were so floppy you basically needed two hands and a strategy just to get a bite. * The grandma's pie? Now that smelled like something special--thick, focaccia-style crust with a bread-forward vibe that Mom said was satisfying, but maybe a little too doughy for her ideal slice-to-bread ratio. Now here's the real heartbreak: I usually get a piece of crust. It's kind of our thing. But not this time. Too burnt, they said. Unbelievable. And the kicker? $40 for a pie. Yep, one pizza. Even for the Hamptons, that's enough to make a golden doodle tilt his head. Was it good? Yeah. Was it life-changing? Not quite. But between the charred crust, the greasy floppiness, and the lack of crust-sharing... I'm giving this one a soft paw up. Final bark: tasty, trendy, but next time--take me with you.

Our party was given what I considered to be an inappropriate table given our party size. A four top behind my father had been split into two tables, leaving my father with minimal room to adjust his seat without bumping into the closest table - the dinner was quite uncomfortable for him. We expressed multiple times that the lighting at our table had issues as the bulb kept flickering and staff struggled to adjust the lights repeatedly - the dining room was between bright and dim most of night. Our server was friendly, but did not offer the service we have come to expect from Nick & Toni's - we had to keep asking for water, the table was left dirty at times, etc. We were visiting to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday. She loved Nick & Toni's when she and I visited in the past and this was communicated when the reservation was made. I called to make a reservation as soon as the books opened, at 2PM one month prior, and do not understand why the table our party was sat at was so subpar whilst we passed various other empty tables at the same time as our reservation. In terms of the food quality, we felt that the entrees were hit or miss. The rosemary focaccia was wonderful, as was the Ribeye. The eggplant entree was overcooked/burnt and lacked flavor - this dish might need revision.

We asked to change our table as we were given a tight corner table not comfortable for three men. They graciously accommodated us but, the transition was not smooth. At the second location, in a front room, a lady came and we started to order - appetizers and entrees. She said she was actually the manager and was jumping in as a waiter because they were short staffed. She took our order and asked if we would like every thing to come out at once - we said no - appetizers first then entrees. What an odd question. Do they usually serve everything at once? I am not looking for a strict conventional order of serving but, something is off here. We never saw her again and, never really knew who our waiter was. We were served by a variety of bus people, runners and finally the General Manager. We did not complain. One of the gentlemen is our party is a professional chef. He ordered a coke at one point from the GM which didn't come for 15 minutes - so, we sent it back. The food was just OK - pizza nothing special - service disorganized and, for those reasons we will not be back. To his credit, noticing that we were not happy - he took our drinks off the check. Generally speaking, this restaurant suffers from mediocre food at EH prices, and the staff doesn't seem to work together is a smooth way. Respectfully submitted feedback - with hopes for improvement

Totally understandable but upon reaching the picnic table there were not enough seats. After asking for another seat, they acted affronted that we would even ask. After we ordered for the table, they brought one salad with chicken. Then another 30 minutes later they finally brought the wine. 45 minutes later the entrees arrived so no one ate at the same time. Finally, they brought us the wrong check and charged us incorrectly. Again, when bringing this to the staff we were met with attitude and distain. Safe to say I will not be coming back...
