While on the run, I passed by the food court and stopped at this new-for-me spot! They have a varied menu of all the Cuban favorites, so it was hard to make my selection without being glutinous. The attendant was very pleasant and helpful in answering my questions. I opted for something quick to go: chicken croquettes (made with béchamel sauce), an Iron Beer soda, and a tres leches. It was a better-than-good experience and I want to go back and have an actual meal there.

    CUBAN COFFEE WITH PLANTAINS...

CUBAN COFFEE... As soon as I entered the Westfield food court, I noticed a few foodie spots that I had to try. The Cedenos Cuban Cafe had the longest customer line and was emanating a great scent of sweet plantains and Cuban Coffee. I patiently waited in the line for maybe three minutes, but I was thirsty so it seemed longer. I finally ordered the Cuban Coffee and asked if the plantains were super moist and sweet. I only asked because some places ive been to had dry plantains. She informed me that they only offer 6 or 7 pieces of plantains for around $6.50. Well, that was way too many pieces for one human to eat in one sitting. She brought me the coffee for $2.50 and a few pieces of plantains Free. They have several tables throughout the food court. I took a seat and dug into my plantains which were not disappointing and super sweet and tender like they should be. The Cuban coffee was perfect and got me wired - it really did. They have an extensive latin based vibrant menu with all of the traditional meals which include Pork Chops, Roast Pork and Fried Pork Chunks at $8.95 each. There is a reason why the Cedeno's Cuban Cafe is the busiest location in the entire food court - its incredible tasting with great customer service.

1/9/25 Update** I truly enjoy the Cuban food here at Cedenos. The quality is great, the taste is delicious, they very generous with their portions and the pricing is completely reasonable. This place is located in the food court at Broward Mall. They have casual seating and they have meals that are premade on display and they also have made to order choices. Tonight I had shredded beef (ropa vieja), black beans, white rice and sweet plantains. They do have other choices you can substitute with your protein. They are very lenient with substitutions. I truly enjoyed my food and they are very deserving of their 5 stars for their quick service food. I am definitely a fan and will be retuning.

Best Cuban food in Broward Mall hands down! Best restaurant in the food court. Homemade, authentic and made with love. They offer everything from cafe con leche, croquettes, empanadas, salad and full blown delicious meals. Do your self a favor and check this place out!

I walk be this place every Saturday when I'm in the Broward mall. And it always looks so good. I have tried a few things there but I had never really eaten there. I've had the yucca a few timed, a few empanadas, crocketas , French fries, some bananas and a corn tamale. Its all been really good. Today it was raining! So we decided to eat lunch in the food court. I've been craving rope veja. They had it an I and I got it! For a Cuban restaurant in the food court at the mall. It was damn google!! I got with yucca and bananas and they were good again. My daughter had lunch with me. She had grilled salmon with white rice. She said it was excellent. I only wish I had gotten w chance to eat there sooner.

Normally eating food court food isn't the best option when you're looking for a quality meal. However, eating at Cedenos is definitely a place you should consider. Located inside the food court in broward mall, Cedenos has high quality food for a great price. Ordering the steak palomilla definitely satisfied my Cuban food craving. This is definitely another great lunch spot I will continue to visit in the future.

I'm sorry but who?????? , when ???? And how is this gem just hanging out inside the mall and no one knows about it . Absolutely spectacular ; hit this place by mistake since everything else in food court is straight up fast food . This place is superb cooking , Spanish style dishes - top notch !!!! Will be back for sure . I didn't even get a chance to take pics of the food since it disappeared as soon as it hit the table . Total recommend

2 grilled pork chops with onions and mojo sauce

This is the 2nd time I've stopped here for lunch. The first time I tried the roast pork with onions, white rice, black beans and rice with sweet plantains. The pork was a bit too dry, bath they give you lots of rice (ok but barely warm), a small amount of black beans ( barely warm and not very flavorful) and 4 plantains which were a bit too crispy. But For $8.50 it was fine. This time I got the grilled pork chops with onions and mojo sauce with yellow rice, black beans and sweet plantains. ($8.50) MUCH better pork as the pork was grilled to order and while thin, were flavorful. Lots of yellow rice ( a bit dry) , same lackluster black beans, but the plantains were much better although not warm at all. I love that this is an option in a mall where the usual Chinese, Japanese, etc and fast food is prevalent. It's lots of food for a very inexpensive price, and the constant lines of people shows it. I would come back again as I want to try the Cuban sandwich. I just wish the temp of the food was hotter as barely warm is not very appetizing.

    Lechon Asado

This was my first trip to Festival Mall. Also, I usually avoid mall fast food courts; however, since my friends were hungry we decided to try Cedeño's Cuban Cafe. First, the Cuban coffee was spot on. Heavy, hearty and deeply flavorful, you basically can only drink a little NyQuil-sized cup. We're glad they gave us 4 tiny cups to share the coffee. Not bad for $1.65! The main offerings are displayed buffet style and my eyes went straight to the Lechon Asado, Cuban roast pork. Paired with white rice and black beans, this was a hearty lunch. The Lechon Asado was not overcooked like other places that have their food sitting too long in the steamer pans. It was full of mojo criollo citrus flavor, mixed with onions. It was so tasty! My only wish was that it had more crispy skin. My friend's Seafood Crudo (I think that's what they called it) was not as successful as the lechon, and my friend didn't even eat half of it. It was too salty for my taste. If we come back to Festival Mall, we'd probably stop by again. There are a lot more menu items to try such as their Cuban sandwiches...or I'd order the Lechon Asado again.

Our Colombian empanadas were delicious. Crisp crunchy cornmeal on the outside with flavorful filling on the inside. Try it with the tangy spicy sauce. My husband and I shared the Paisa Bowl. It was a good size for 2. Came with delicious sausage, steak, chicharron, fried egg, an arepa, a half piece of avocado, and plantains. My favorite was the sausage and the arepa. Unfortunately our medium rare steak was lukewarm. The flavor was good but wish it was hot like the bowl of beans it came with. The chicharron was a bit dry so it was hard to chew for me. The plantains were perfect. Will come back to try more.
