Nina is a godsend!!! After several distressing visits to tailors in Las Vegas, I was beginning to think altering an embellished sequined gown without damaging it in the process was impossible. Then I walked into Celebrity Tailor & Alterations. First off, the space is beautiful Lined with gorgeous couture gowns raised runway/platform perfect for fittings. Even though we needed the dress in four days, Nina refused to do a hack job like the ones offered by other tailors (folding and sewing the dress under) instead, she took the time to cut and redo each beading and sequins by hand. By far the best experience with a designer and tailor I have ever had. She designed and created a gorgeous custom bridal shower gown for me. I am new to Las Vegas (originally from Michigan), and did not know where to go to have my dress made. With my wedding being back home in Michigan in the fall and my shower this summer, I needed a quality tailor. After ALOT of research, I called Nina LaRosa, and we set up a consultation appointment. I walked in with a bolt of very expensive hand-beaded lace given to me by my grandmother, and at our first meeting, before we even began taking measurements, she drew out a design from what I described I wanted, inspected my fabric, and gave me a quote (that did not change after the fact). For what needed to be done and QUALITY of work her price was fair and on par with another wedding dress designer I had visited previously. We went fabric shopping together and picked out the exact color and fabric I wanted for underneath the lace. It was exciting going in for fittings and seeing the dress take shape and the vision coming together. I am plus size and bariatric surgery last year and am very self conscious of my body, but in her dress I felt like a queen! Nina built a hidden corset inside the dress so the bodice fit like a second skin and made my "girls" look great! And more importantly she made sure I was able to sit down in the dress comfortably without the boning digging into my back and stomach. She knows how to fit a dress to each person's body. I cannot wait to wear this dress and post pictures for everyone to see. I love it so much! Everyone who I showed the pictures to said, "Wait? That's your shower dress? You should wear that to your wedding!" I will be bringing my wedding dress from Michigan to Vegas to have her do my alterations now instead of using the bridal salon I bought the dress at in Michigan. Taking out my tuxedo that I had altered here a couple years ago prompted the memory of my experience here, and this review. The man behind the counter was very arrogant in his manner of speaking, telling me that "Las Vegas is an expensive place to live" (it's not) after quoting much higher prices than I'm used to paying at other tailors. He went on to brag about how many celebrities they work with in Las Vegas, which was a turn off, and after speaking with a number of actual celebrity friends who live here, could not find a single client who goes to this tailor. Anyway, the work was done extremely poorly on my tuxedo. They tried selling me on alterations I did not need at astronomical fees (they insisted that in order to slim my jacket, they would have to take the sleeves off completely and re-cut the jacket... ridiculous). When I got the jacket back, it fit poorly, and as I'm attempting to wear it now, I'm just reminded of how I will never go back here. All around an unfortunate experience. read more

I went in and asked what the charge was just to get measurements because I have a wedding I'm in back in Ohio and the dresses are only available in AZ & OH so I just needed a quick measure to send numbers to CLE and the lady wanted to charge me $10.00. That's fine. She's giving me a service but I feel something that quick and easy shoulda been offered at no charge or maybe even only $5.00. Giving good customer service makes u send friends to a business there! My old tailor is way northwest I needed a new one but now I will def go to a different tailor in this city. read more

I went in for my first time to have a couple of jackets and pants altered I thought it my be around $20 to $30 for each area they were going to alter, boy was i wrong! They are a bit pricey in my opinion. for my jackets they wanted around $250 each which is more than what i paid for them. My pants were around $200 each. They seemed like a great alterations place and very friendly. I'm sure they can charge these prices because of the location around the Lakes area which is a very nice area, but if your looking for alterations on a budget this wouldn't be the place for you. read more

When I received it, I realized it would need to have a lot of work done as it wasn't made well. Nina actually took this dress and recreated it. It came out so beautiful and she fit it to my daughter's size perfectly. She is so talented. I will definitely be bringing any alterations and custom work back to Celebrity. i took 2 small dog shirts to them to just hem the neckline. (a 5 min job) and they charged $20 each shirt....... $40 for two small neckline hems???? on top of being ridiculously over priced the man who ran the counter was loud and rude and arrogant. i will never return there and would not recommend their service to anyone. very very poor customer service for average work thats extremely over priced. read more

Absolute crooks!! This lady tried to charge me $200 for an alteration that another tailor charged me $50 for - dress shortening (I went to Habibs who is awesome, honest, and I have been going back to him ever since). When I told her that I did not want to get my item tailored by her because the quote was a lot higher than expected, she tried to charge me a $25 consultation fee since she spent time with me after closing time. To be fair, I was there before she closed and she never mentioned that it was time to close or that anything was an issue. I told her no and that I was not paying any extra $$ bc there was no sign that said there was any kind of consultation fee. Anyways, I hate to leave bad reviews but this was by far a very traumatic experience and I am very surprised that she got so many good reviews. read more

I found Celebrity Tailors via a Google search. I was looking for someone to alter my wedding dress at a lesser cost than the bridal shop. I am very happy to have found this place! My dress had very delicate scalloped lace along the hemline and she was able to preserve the detail while taking up the hem. She also added a beautiful French bustle to the dress. During one of my fittings, she even suggested making a custom veil to match my dress. Everything came out beautifully! I thought the pricing was just as much as the bridal shop would have charged, but the work was done within a fraction of the time and was just amazing! My father ended up taking his items there for alterations because he was so impressed with the quality of work. I only wish I could remember her name, she deserves better recognition! Will definitely be using this shop again and have already referred two people there. read more

She built in a bustier/lift for my more "mature" body so that I didn't have to have another layer of undergarments. She made this dress fit like a glove, she accentuated my waistline, hemmed it perfectly, re-drew the waistline by at least 1 dress size, added crystals - by hand - to the train and built a hidden method to pull the train into a bustle after the ceremony!!! The staff at Celebrity is AMAZING!!!! They did a fabulous job preserving the integrity of my daughter's wedding dress, while putting in a corset back. Total Rip-Off and Shoddy Work. Take your business elsewhere. Let me start by saying I typically use a different tailor but her shop is closed for a while due to some family emergencies, according to the sign on the door. I was in a bind with my bridesmaid dress for an upcoming wedding and didn't have much time, so I was sort of stuck going with whoever could fit me in and get the job done, but I should have known better after reading a few reviews. I needed the dress taken in about an inch in the bust/top and hemmed for length. This is a standard bridesmaid dress from David's bridal and I'm sure any tailor worth their salt has done many an alteration on this type of dress. I asked over the phone how much the hem would costs and they gave me some runaround about how it depends on the fabric, blah blah blah. I get that certain fabrics are harder to work with, but I told them this was a standard run of the mill bridesmaid dress... and they still couldn't give me a ball park quote. First sign I should have gone elsewhere. So I take the dress in and put it on and explain how the bust is way to big and basically falls down - seriously, one wrong move and this thing would fall down past no man's land. The wife of this two-person scam tells me that she is going to take in the waist. I told her the waist wasn't where the problem was, that is was the bust. The waist had a little bit of extra room, but the real problem was the bust was just way too big. But she refused to listen. She did offer to sew in some padded cups - for $30 - but I didn't wanted padding, I wanted the dress to fit my natural bust. She kept saying that by taking it in at the waist, that would fix the bust problem. NOPE. Not even close. But I don't know anything about sewing so I listened to her. Then we pin up the hem, I take the dress off and it's time to pay. $180 to do the alterations... on a dress that only cost me $180! Also, the last bridesmaid dress I had altered at another shop, which included undoing the underlining and moving it up inside the dress, cost me $15.... That same tailor took in a dress at the bust that was too big, and again, $15 for the work. I should have walked out, but again, I had such little time, I felt I might not be able to find anyone who could do the alterations at such short notice. I asked how much just for the hem and was told that was $80 just by itself... again, absurd compared to what other tailors charge. Fast forward and I go to pick up the dress - one week later mind you, so it's not as though I've expanded in size in that time. Upon trying it on, she has taken in the waist so much that the dress barely zips up. I can't breath, sit down and I certainly won't be able to eat anything while wearing this dress. As she is tugging on the zipper to get it up, it feels as if it's just going to rip out, and she just gives me this look like 'oh well' and doesn't even acknowledge the fact she clearly messed this dress up. The bust, by the way, is still too big. I could fit two of my chests in the top still. I'm so frustrated, and neither person - the husband an wife duo that run this place - says a word. Like it's not their problem. I was so upset, I just took my dress and left. I don't have time to have it taken anywhere else to be fixed and will just have to make it through the wedding while being uncomfortable. Basically I paid $180 to have an $180 dress hemmed and taken in, yet it was taken it at the wrong place and not taken in in the spots that were too big. I'm now left with a dress that is still too big in the bust and now too tight in the waist and barely zips up. They did at least get the hem right. I would not recommend this place to anyone ever. Absolute rip off. I was charged over $200 because I was told my bridesmaid dress fabric was really hard to alter. You'd think you'd get a dress to fit you perfectly after spending $200 on it but the first time I bent over in it the clasp at the top of the zipper popped off! Completely awful. Nina is a ***Magician! I recently lost a ton of weight and my mono-kini swim suit was wayyyyy to big. Being that I am so in love with it I didn't want to buy a new one for my upcoming trip to Mexico. I went to about 3 - 4 different tailoring places in the area who said they couldn't perform alterations on a swim suit. Finally I turned to YELP for HELP :). I saw the reviews and that they specialize in custom tailoring, so I went in and saw Nina. She made me feel at ease and had me try on my swim suit. She even changed the design to give my girls (up top) more support.) ;-) She is a true artist. She also did same day tailoring for me on another swim suit that came in on July 3rd. For her to do on a holiday, same day was so helpful to ensure I was prepared for my beach vacation. ***THANK YOU NINA! I will be coming back for sure! She also informed me she make custom dresses, so I am looking to get one made for my High School Reunion in October. I am excited. :) I have seen some reviews on here stating she is "overpriced" and It's not true. Nina is not a tailor, she is a designer with her own clothing line, so of course her prices can be higher. You are getting better quality of work! Keep that in mind people. ;-) read more

I had come to Celebrity Tailor with a wedding dress I later realized I had been pressured into buying. Unfortunately it was non refundable and extremely expensive... so I decided I would tweak some things and then learn to love it. There was a particular detail (a large flower with dirty looking jewels attached) that I wanted to remove and revamp, but I had NO IDEA what to do as far as what to replace it with, what would look best etc. My mother in law and I searched all over the place for appliqués and other possible replacements for this flower, and came up with nothing. I gave this dress to Nina, the seamstress at Celebrity Tailor, basically told her what I was stressing about. She makes many gowns from scratch so rather than needing me to tell her what I wanted like some of the other tailors, she came up with her own ideas! This was perfect because I could've never come up with the design she chose on my own. I went from crying about not having the perfect dress to absolutely loving my dress. It was perfectly fitted in all the right places, and the details she added to replace the old ones made it so much more glamorous and unique. I couldn't recommend this particular shop or seamstress any higher. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Nina at Celebrity Tailor! I was endlessly searching the Internet for someone who could make a custom wedding dress for me and could stay within my budget when I came across Celebrity Tailor. I met with Nina in person to discuss my ideas for a rather eccentric dress (I can't reveal too much information because this is a wedding day surprise for my husband to be) but imagine Comic-con transformed into a wedding dress! Not only was she completely on board with the ideas, her enthusiasm made it even more exciting for me! With each fitting, I could see my ideas come to life in such a beautiful masterpiece! And please, listen to her suggestions! Her professional feedback and ideas as to what we could do different or what we could add here or there made a few simple pictures come to life in the most perfect dress! Her handmade corsets are a blessing as well! I never thought I would or COULD describe a corset as "comfortable" but even at full tightness, I could dance around in her shop, sit in a chair and most importantly - breathe!!
