Okay so I NEVER write reviews. Being that I am writing one this means my experience was completely horrible. If I were able to give no stars I would. I'm not sure why I keep coming back here when the place CONTINUOUSLY SUCKS. My boyfriend called in 3 egg sandwiches. Once we went there to pick them up we waited about 15-20 minutes so there was pretty much no point in calling ahead. The eggs tasted like straight rubber, the sandwich was thrown together and looked like mess, the ketchup was all over including all over the outside of the bagel. If you cant cook eggs and put together an egg sandwich you have no business owning a bagel shop. read more

Overly expensive considering the other bagel stores in the area are cheaper & made a lot better, their home fries at Cella are MICROWAVED & they nearly always mess up your order AND make you wait forever, go to Strathmore in the Home Depot parking lot, much better service quality & price. read more

This place used to be my go-to bagel stop but after the past couple experiences, I wish I could give them a negative rating. They have a "We Deliver" sign, and I live exactly 1/2 MILE away from the store and they used to know my voice over the phone and they knew my order and I always gave at LEAST $7/8 tips to the drivers since I only ever got 2 BEC's and iced coffees. Recently I think they got new management. Now I call and my order is no longer "worth the drive" to my house. I think I most definitely make up for the time and gas the delivery boy is spending on my order in tips. Service is constantly unbelievably inattentive and slow now. Last week I called to place a pick up order. It was a Wednesday at around 1. I waited almost 30 MINUTES for an employee to ask me what I was waiting for or who was helping me, standing under the "PICK UP" sign. I tried getting multiple employees attention. I wish they were all busy with customers but that wasnt the case. I continue giving them chances but every time I go I am disappointed so I will now drive a little farther every morning for better service. What a shame, Cellas is still delicious. read more

Absolutely horrific service...the older lady is the nastiest and rudest person I've ever met. They are 100% RACIST! Can't believe people still go here. Had the worst experience in which no one had offered me help. Kept skipping over me and assisting other people which there were only about 3 other people in the whole damn place. Finally the COOK had to come and help me because the rude woman wouldn't. They had a promo going for a free coffee with purchase of a sandwich. Long story short, gave it to the person in front of me and when I went to pay and leave they accused me of not paying for my FREE coffee!!! Such bullshit I will NEVER step foot in this racist piece of garbage "deli" ever again. Wouldn't even give it one star. read more

The reason for the two stars is the wait time. The food is great, great bagels, great pancakes and eggs, but the time waiting for breakfast has become outrageous. I've called ahead after waiting 40 minutes for eggs in a dish, so this morning I timed it. I called 30 minutes before I left the house and when I arrived 35 minutes after I placed my call, they said it's not ready yet. When arriving, the counter at check out is also a pick up area but the staff is too busy with the in-house orders to see if anyone is there for pick up, there is no specific person for pick up orders. After waiting to speak with someone and let them know I called, at this point, over 40 minutes ago, they said it would be ready in "five minutes". With the phone call and waiting, it was 65 minutes. After my experience with Cella Bagels, we will no longer be ordering from them. read more

One of the WORST places to eat. STAY AWAY! I came in to order an egg sandwich on Sunday, and there was a line, no big deal, staff was bussing around trying to get everyone. An older bald guy(I'm guessing manager or owner) came back and started talking down to the workers. Unbelievable! How can you do that to people who YOU hired to work for YOU?! All he was doing was getting bagels and couldn't even get the orders correctly! When it was finally my turn to order I wanted a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a roll. The rolls are kept in a big plastic container which who knows how long that's been cleaned, and the counter the paper they were putting on was disgusting, understandable that it's really busy time but have some decency to clean it every once in a while. When I finally got my sandwich (after waiting 5+ minutes) the bald guy AGAIN was talking down to one of his employees, saying "I'll do it because you can't do it right" how rude can you be!! I cannot order food from a place where the manager/owner talks down towards his employees; so unprofessional. Suggestion; stay far away from this place! read more

I haven't been in here in a while because I hated it from my previous experiences, but I figured I'd give it another shot this morning for my girlfriend and I. I paid $16 for two omelets and I received scrambled eggs in a tin. Both omelets we're not even hot and a disgrace to even be called "omelets". When I first moved to the neighborhood I stopped here and thought the place had character. At first the food was great, coffee was great, and the service was great. Over the past few months the overall quality has fallen significantly. I have purchased the same thing every time I have gone but the price was always different. Once I called to place an order and after they answered I was placed on hold immediately. I didn't mind at first but after 10 minutes on hold, listening to them take other people's orders because they just dropped the phone where they first answered it, I decided to drive down there. When I got there, still on hold, I placed my order in person and finally hung up. The place was not busy enough to warrant that type of phone service. But I am a man of giving second chances. Roughly about 25 minutes ago I called Cella Bagels to place an order and they did the same thing. While on hold I started reading other reviews on yelp and realized I am not the only one that has issues. Cella Bagels convinced me to download Yelp and type this review. Please note, I am still on hold listening to them take orders. There is a bagel place literally right across the street in the same parking lot as Shop Rite that has proven to be better. I will be hanging up with Cella and never calling back. I am taking my business to this other bagel shoppe. read more

Great food and great customer service! I wasn't helped at the counter right away because it was busy, but a gentleman who might've been the owner or manager greeted me and got someone to help me. The eggs were fluffy and the bagels were just right... The everything even had salt on it, not dissolved or omitted like most places. Love the nostalgic atmosphere and the music and the employees. This would be where I go every weekend if I lived closer. read more

This run of the mill bagel shop with its unfriendly, inefficient, slightly rude staff isn't worth a trip. Recently I asked if the soup was homemade and was assured it was made in the shop.imagine my surprise when I got home and popped the lid on a steaming cup of Campbell's chicken noodle! Not even Progresso, which at least slightly resembles homemade, bit straight up Campbell's! I paid 3.49 for a small soup. I could buy 3 cams for the money. Everything about this place is off. I've given it a few tries, but I won't be back. The bagels are just bagels and it was just plain wrong for the rude server to lie about the soup. how very cheesy and sleazy. With so much competion in the area I expect them to go under soon. There really is no reason to go there, bagels are everywhere. read more

I went here and overheard I worker speaking about another worker and showing off about how they do not care if anyone hears her. I do not wish to hear bad talk and a negative attitude from someone about another worker as I am looking to eat somewhere there is a good atmosphere and friendly people. this place is horrible, disgusting and dirty. i walked in and no one greeted me. the blonde woman behind the counter knew i was there and just ignored me. i waited about 10 minutes till someone finally helped me. and i heard the owner never pays his workers on time and he doesnt even pay them the right amount. they have to go back for the rest of their pay. and the bagels are disgusting. worst bagel place ever dont go here. read more

Love this place! It opened up after I moved out of state, every time I go back to LI, I come here for breakfast and buy in bulk to bring back home. Bagels are made here and are always fresh. Yes there is usually a line and a wait and service can be slow, but their good! Beats the hell out of Strathmore! Took a star away because of lack of constancy with their cream cheese. Sundried tomato jalapeno, sometimes spicy sometimes not, sometimes fresh jalapenos sometimes canned. I guess it depends on whose back there making it. I have been a customer at Cella for about 6 months now. Actually lets say now that I WAS a customer. The bagels are pretty good. The salts are my favorite. Egg sandwiches decent. I even had my buddies coming in on Sunday mornings. Place is very clean and the 50s theme is great. HOWEVER. This is why I'm giving ONE star....Im NOT sure if the owner has switched staff around or what but the lovely girl at the grill most days has now vanished, and from my understanding, she was there a while. There is a new girl who I believe is management and I think she is great as well. But my question is why the turnover? The young girls there (one is brunette?) Seemed very frustrated. The place was busy but it's Sunday for crying out loud. Then yesterday! Yesterday is the last time my friends and I will ever step into this establishment. The woman they call Diana or Donna? is down right nasty and unprofessional. Within the few minutes I stood there, I could swear she reemed out every employee behind the counter. She kept saying, "This is ridiculous! Nobody knows what they're doing?! They can find a new job, etc." I felt terrible for these girls. Why anyone would want to work there is beyond me. I gotta say that Cella makes great bagels, Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I saw some complaints about slow service , well I notice some new faces recently and I think they replaced some of the staff. They seem to be doing a great job. I was in about 45 minutes ago and they were very busy. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese with home fries. I waited 25 minutes for my sandwich for it to be cold by the time i got it. The home fries were tipped over in the smallest bag they had and grease pouring off them and going through the bag all over my car seat. Their bagels are ok, nothing crazy. My boyfriend owns his own bagel store the next town over and is 5 times busier and you never have to wait for than 4 minutes for your order, with less people working behind the counter. For cella's, I have never seen 12 people working behind the counter so dead and moving so slow. I work in a deli myself and Cella's is NOT up to par. I wouldnt recommend to a friend at all, in fact i would direct someone to Bagel's Your Way. read more

I rarely complain about food. About an hour and a half ago I ordered an egg sandwich, a bagel, and a red bull for delivery. It literally just arrived. I live about 3 minutes from the store. I specified clearly to the bagel store that I wanted NO CHEESE on the egg sandwich. It's smothered in cheese. I hate cheese. Let me reiterate that I normally don't write bad reviews online that could damage a place's reputation. I normally go to Strathmore Bagels, but my brother borrowed my car so I chose to get from Cella because they deliver. This is the second straight time they screwed up an order. I will never be going back and I will be surprised if they last much longer in our town. read more

I have been a customer for at least 3 years. I will start by saying I love their eggs sandwiches. Bagels are pretty good too. Very cute place. So why 3 stars? 1. The staff is generally less than personable and many times rude. There is one young man who was there this past holiday season that was very pleasant and responsible, but don't expect that to be the norm. The general attitudes of the staff make me question my choice of breakfast options many times I go there. 2. Wait time... if you order anything cooked expect a long wait. Also expect that they will sometimes miscommunicate and forget your order entirely. When they forget your order, don't expect an apology or compensation of any kind- expect your wait time to be at least doubled. Even when they don't forget your order plan on a long wait. You'll be less frustrated. Also, calling in your order ahead of time doesn't always help. Still long waits. This review is not based on one visit, but many over the last few years. read more

The service is definitely subpar. I went three times, just to make sure it wasn't a fluke event, but each time I walked in, even when I was the first person on line, there were very few workers, and each was working on whatever, and not one person even looked at me to say "Ill be right with you" or acknowledged that I was standing there. I waited probably about 10 minutes or so without so much as a "good morning" which is totally unacceptable in my opinion. On the third time, I went in and planned on paying with my debit/credit card, as I had both times before, so I ordered my bagel and made my coffee, wasn't until I walked to the complete other side of the counter near the cash register did I see a tiny little sign saying "we no longer accept credit cards". So when I said I had no cash and had paid before with my card the girl told me I could use the ATM in the store. Oh, the ATM that charges a FIVE dollar fee?! No thanks. I was pretty annoyed to say the least. Had the sign been posted on the door when you walked in or at least at the ordering counter, I could have left and went elsewhere instead of waiting 10 minutes to be helped and leaving with nothing. As for the bagels themselves, they are OK. Too big for me, I think I will stick to Strathmore (right across the street). The service is a zillion times better, super fast and the bagels are delicious (and a normal size). read more
