He checked out everything and came up with a recommendation about what to say to the current carrier (knowing the lingo helps). I went to the carrier's tech shop here along with copies of chats with other 'experts' and they tried everything they could think of. Then, they took Marcos' advice and the situation was resolved. Moral of the story...these kinds of repair issues can be very frustrating, but going from expert to expert really pays off. Eventually you find the right expert and that I did by going to ubreakifix.
