    Fish and Chips Monday special
    Keith M.

It is such a nice place in the basement like a speakeasy all of the wait staff takes care of you so you're never without a drink or food whatever you are looking for Drinks are always good and the food we were there yesterday and Monday night they had chicken gumbo soup, which was amazing. Had to take some home because the real reason I was there was there Monday night, special fish, and chips, which was amazing if you like fish and chips hit this is the spot Monday night special And what's nice as there are a couple of TVs, but it is not a sports bar so you might catch a game, but it is also a good night out or good lunch as well

This spot is so underrated! We found this "basement" bar hiding on Main Street and the ambiance is very lowkey and nice. We came for a drink and watched basketball once and then ended up celebrating new year's eve here. The staff is super friendly, drinks are good, and the food was pretty good as well! They have a long bar and a bunch of tables, and they actually have the best music playlist!!

This place was packed on a Tuesday night when we were there for dinner. There was a 15-20 mins wait but we were able to find seats at the bar. Service was quick there. It is quite noisy inside so that makes talking a bit challenging unless the person is sitting next to you. The place died down a bit after 8pm. We ordered the flash fried Brussels sprouts, German meatballs, and the smoked haddock cakes. They also have a big beer selection.

Where is the 10 stars button at? A new dinner spot find unlocked. What a marvelous place. Very deceiving rustic decorated basement restaurant to find a very delicious meal with very friendly staff. We loved the idea of everyone getting involved. I asked for the name of our waitress and this guy said "who? We all are your waitress and waiters " we were very surprised and delighted because everyone was as nice and involved as the original girl who first saw us. A shout out to Soucy, Tina, Alix Judith Jake and Sarah. The food was delicious, my daughter expressed how fancy the food looked and how good it tasted. We tried almost everything, from delicious steak and cheese bites to a fresh brewed coffee and everything was outstanding. My husband was thrilled to finally find a place that can make blackened steak ( not cajun) Guess what? We will see you very soon.

I am very happy to find this hidden gem just off of Main Street in Middletown! I have been working late and was looking for a local spot the serves quality food late night. And the locals turned me onto Celtic Cavern. Their kitchen is open one hour before close. This makes me very happy! My first trip was fantastic and just may have turned me into a regular. Some fantastic mocktails to start. And a very diverse menu that really impressed the heck out of me. - We're a gastropub specializing in seasonal American fare (not Irish fare, as our name might imply.) **

The food is awesome and i love the atmosphere. The service is great and I think it's cool how the restaurant is underground.

I was taken here by a co-worker when we were working one evening and enjoyed it so much I brought my husband and son months later. I knew it was a place they would enjoy. It's downstairs hence the cavern name, it's under the indoor shopping market in Middletown. It's not a large place, has a big bar with quite a large array of beers to choose. It gets packed so plan ahead to find parking and put your name down. We had to do a few rounds in the paid parking area before we found a spot on a Saturday night. Then they said it would be 45mins for a table so we decided to walk around the indoor market. Most of the stores were closed except a craft store. Turned out not to be a 45min wait but more like 20 so that was great since my son decided he was all of a sudden starving! Even though it was packed the waitstaff were friendly, patient, and helpful. My husband ordered their pork chop, which they let you know it will take a while since it's so large. We got the burrata app special and it was fantastic! Creamy, the sauce was flavorful, and a good enough size for the three of us to share. I ordered a salad with steak AND shrimp on top b/c it was our anniversary so I was goin big! My son ordered the cheeseburger and fries but removed basically everything. He thought it was great! My salad was good but it came with an apple cider vinegar dressing that was a little overpowering and I didn't really care for. I accidentally ordered the wrong salad, I had wanted the Cobb. The steak and shrimp were cooked perfectly though so that helped. My husband loved the place, my son had a great time, and we will be back I'm sure!

Kinda wanted to sit outside but I guess it's not really spring yet. I had been waiting at the bar and I was fine with it. My date showed up and it was a nice time. Watched a little sports and had a few apps. I did not mind those happy hour prices. The service was professional and swift. I'd come back to Nosh on something else. Thnx for the vegan options.

I came here after work to meet a friend. When I arrived, it was empty. They only see you if your whole party is in attendance. I sat at the bar to get a drink before she arrive. They just changed their menu for the fall. I did like the potato pancakes. They had good flavor however they are very thin and crispy. I've never had them that way. My friend enjoyed her grilled cheese and fries. I did have a taste however one of the cheeses was smoky and I dislike smoky cheese. But overall, it had very good bread and cheese. I was excited about the mushroom risotto. The risotto itself was separate from the mushrooms. They did not cook the mushrooms and rice together in a broth. It was plain risotto and then sautéed mushrooms in Marcella sauce on top. There was a lot of mushrooms and I could not eat it all. Overall, it had good flavor however I wouldn't order it again. I would prefer to have it cooked together. I would go to this restaurant again. It is in the basement and dark bar like. All of the staff was very attentive And helpful.

CC had been on my radar ever since some of my Yelp friends raved about it. Of the five, three rated it 5 stars, the other two four stars. First of all, parking across the street in a muni lot. Entrance leads to a staircase down one flight to the cavern, BUT... there is elevator access, per Mgr. Brian. Just need to ask when you're downstairs. Inviting atmosphere, with music that doesn't overwhelm. Huge selection of craft beers. Jenny offered a sample, and I went w Elm City Pilsner. For lunch, I had to choose the Bacon Burger. Fries are standard, any substitutions come w any upcharge. The burger came out perfectly cooked, with crumbled bacon pieces, mushrooms, and gouda cheese on a brioche bun. Nice charbroiled taste as well. The combination was a home run, the flavors blending together well. A couple of reasons why it didn't rate as a 5-star burger / experience for me. First, the burger was a pre-made patty, not hand formed. That, combined with the $18 price tag, which I thought was a bit steep. So, I am definitely a fan but, for me, it's not as good as it gets. BTW, service was excellent. 4 stars

    Is there a handicap entrance?

You walk down a set of stairs to get into the restaurant. I think there is also a mall entrance maybe there is a handicap accessible. I would call and ask

    Is there live music?

Yes - sometimes they have live music. Generally on the weekend.

We were seated quickly at a nice table with a white tablecloth, which gave it a more polished feel right away. There were TVs around showing the NFL Draft and UFL, which was nice to have to keep up to date on sports. The person I was with did wonder why the Knicks playoff game wasn't on, though. I ordered the Oven Roasted Norwegian salmon, and it was excellent. Really crisp on the outside while staying moist inside, it was exactly I like it. It was served over a bed of fresh vegetables with a salsa verde sauce that tied everything together really well. For dessert, I got the cheesecake. It looked small at first, but it was very filling. It came with a strawberry and a side of fresh whipped cream. The flavor was a little unique, not as sweet as I expected, but it worked really well. The service was good throughout the night, too. Our waiter was very friendly and kept us updated throughout the meal on when our food would be coming, which I appreciated. Altogether, this was a really solid experience and I would go back.

We chose the latter in a corner window right by the falls. The service was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, to helping us find our seat, to our server helping us with the menu, to the manager coming over and talking with us to make sure everything was ok. I liked how the server first checked to see if we had any time restraints along with food allergies, etc. Speaking of the food. We started with the clam chowder and scallops. The chowder was the best I've ever had. Plenty of meat and seasoned perfectly. The scallops were amazing. The manager later told us that the scallops were the only thing that had been on the menu since day one. They tried to rotate them off once and the people went nuts. First off, the ambience of the place is fairly nice though you would not know it from how many of the other patrons choose to attire themselves. If you're looking for a upscale, dining experience, other patrons would suggest this is not the place for you. They started off by attending to put us at the wrong table per our reservation. The table was apparently filled, and they moved us to a different table, which was perfectly fine as it was a nice booth with a window right next to the table. They then gave us several menus from which to choose, which was confusing as there were so many different menus with similar food options, including brunch, menu, a burger, menu, a dinner menu, a Mother's Day, special menu, and the regular menu. There were also two separate drink menus. We started by ordering some drinks and an appetizer of the meat and cheeseboard for the table. We put in our full order at just before 12:59 PM and the meat and cheeseboard came out fairly quick. Overall, it was the best part of our time at the restaurant. With regards to our main meal, we had ordered an eggs, Benedict, a children's pancake and bacon, special, and a steak and eggs meal. That was apparently a mistake as it took them over one hour six minutes before the food hit the table and when it did, it was a mess. The medium rare steak was cooked to a well done with the eggs being extremely messy and not very runny for over easy. The potatoes were dark and charred in places, but we're not crispy by any stretch of the imagination. The Canadian bacon had not been rendered well on the eggs Benedict and one of the two poached eggs clearly had not been poached appropriately. Also, my daughter indicated that the syrup was way too sweet, which was especially surprising as she is someone with a sweet tooth. The pancakes themselves were extremely dense and unfair and served on a plastic tray missing one of the size that was supposed to come with the order. It is clear that the kitchen does not know what they are doing as I was the second person in a row to have issues with the cook temperature on my steak, a problem that appears to carry over to other aspects of the meal as well. At the one hour mark, I've been so frustrated. I had requested to speak with a manager and he was actually the one who brought out the food to our table. There was a good four minute gap between two of the meals being brought out and the third meal, which is what my wife had ordered for her Mother's Day brunch. By the time the eggs Benedict came out, I showed the manager my stake and eggs, and he agreed that it was cooked to a well done rather than the medium rare I had ordered. I had overheard the exact same issue on the next table over where the older woman had not gotten her meal until nearly all seven others at the table had completed their food. At that point, I sent back my steak and indicated I did not want it to be remade as I was done with the place. Shirley, thereafter, I was clear the rest of the family was of the same mind as the meals were a mess and cooked improperly. The manager eventually came over and indicated that he is going to take care of the entire CHUCK which makes sense sense more than 75% of the food ordered had been uneaten or inedible. The service was no better as waiters and waitresses would walk by and failed to refill empty water glasses, even though they would look right at the empty water glass and would have pictures of water in their hand at times. One waitress went to five separate tables around us, including table she was not serving and failed to fill our water, but filled water at other tables. Our waiter was also missing an action for a good portion of the meal. Despite having the meal taken care of, I did leave a small tip for the waiter, though nowhere near what I would have had the service been even somewhat competent. This is a major disappointment as the last experience I had at this restaurant for dinner had been so positive it convinced me to book the place for Mother's Day brunch. I'm not sure if this was a one off situation but I would never recommend a return to this place based on the experience I had this day. What's worse, our reservation appeared to fall between two rushes as we were the second table in the rush that showed up about 10 to 15 minutes after our arrival at the place. As such, our food should've been fairly quick and coming out but others who ordered their food more than 20 minutes after our table received it with no problem. I have to say that the Taco Bell we had as result of this poor food service was Myles and Myles better than the food experience at the restaurant itself.

My friend and I were out shopping and wanted to grab lunch. She was craving a sandwich so we headed to Cotton Hollow. We were pleasantly greeted at the door and seated in the bar area at a high top. We couldn't decide between inside and outside so when we were seated at a window table over looking the patio, we had the best of both worlds. Both the dining room and bar are lovely. There are tons of GF options, but I always go for the choices I normally can't have elsewhere. They have a dedicated GF fryer so I opted for the fried fish and sweet potato fries. The fries were crispy and lightly salted. The fish was tasty and crisp, but a little dry on the thinner piece. The coleslaw was an Asian style slaw, which was not my thing. It was a bit odd for me. My friend opted for a chicken wrap and it was insanely large and she said it was delicious. The photo is only 1/2 of the sandwich which she took home. I had the red sangria. It was drinkable but had a bit of a sour taste and no fruit. My friend had the Hugo Spritz, which was perfect and refreshing. I have been here a few times and they are consistent and have a wide menu. It's on my list of regulars. Hint, if you go to Sayulita and can't get in, this place is right across the street and a good choice.
