chai and almond croissant
Cami R.

Have always wanted to try cento after walking by it after dropping off something at usps all the time! Finally stopped in to get a chai and decided to also pick up an almond croissant since it was the last one and looked amazing. Chai and croissant were both as good as they looked and I'll definitely be back to try out some of their other drinks! My coworker said her oat latte was just what she needed for a morning pick me up! Great ambiance, quick and great service overall. Will be back!

Great coffee and such a welcoming vibe -- the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. It's located inside the Center for Architecture and Design, so it's very on-theme, though it can be a little tricky to find. I went with a classic oat milk latte, which was strong and delicious. The spinach feta pastry had really good flavor, though mine was a little under-toasted and still cold in the center -- super tasty regardless. One small note: the $1.25 upcharge for alternate milk does add up. Overall a solid spot worth visiting!

Dear Yelp Community, I visited for the first time this month. Great location inside the Center for Architecture + Design, and great décor for people who appreciate a mix of contemporary interior architecture with a motorcycle-themed environment put together in a classy manner. That large wooden table and glass-like fixture from the ceiling placed above the table are two elegant centerpieces of this shop. Classic drink menu and pastries. I really enjoyed the (hot) cortado and banana bread. Service was good, as well. Overall, I had a positive feeling here, a mix of relaxation and a place to work, so I really recommend. Well wishes. Sincerely, Anna

Espresso

I got an espresso. It was very well executed. Med/dark roast with good crema and body with a creamy texture. I tasted dark chocolate bitterness and a bright citrus /fruit undertone. 5/5 Would definitely come back for espresso.

Came in on a Tuesday before 10am - hadn't spotted this local coffee shop before so was curious! I ordered the horchata latte, which was one of their specialties. It was enjoyable but a bit too grainy for me. I was expecting a smoother latte but maybe the cinnamon and rice milk were the culprits. Would be willing to try another coffee! There was one barista servicing but no line when I ordered, so received my latte after a quick wait. You'll notice the unique vibe as soon as you walk in. Motorcycles and scooters are placed throughout the cafe as decor. There's one communal table for seating that housed a few laptops and an overall chill atmosphere. There were a small selection of pastries available with one item sold out by the time I arrived. Very cool spot right off Montgomery with cute merch!

Great coffee served by great people. I always enjoy going there to pick up a flat white when I have the time.

Iced horchata latte ($6.50, 12oz)

Ordered an iced Horchata Latte with no alterations and it seems like they make it with a powder, espresso, and a base of half oat milk half almond milk. I wish I had asked before ordering because it ended up just tasting like a grainy oat milk latte to me. The service was fast and polite and it seems like a nice place to hang out with music and a fair amount of tables, but I wouldn't order this drink again.

I work around the corner but have stopped by here a few times. It's a cute little spot with a fun decor. Service is always great and the coffee itself is very good. If you're nearby, give it a shot!

Great vibes and a great horchata, which is made with a blend of almond milk and oat milk. Friendly, personable service.

I got a Horchata Latte ($6.50) here last week and it was amazing. The foam was thick and perfect, and it lasted through my entire drink. Props to the barista, who was really nice too! (This was Tuesday 9/10 at 2pm.)

Spinach feta pastry and a hot vanilla latte

I had a doctor's appointment on Sutter street and was looking for a cup of coffee and quick bite beforehand. I found Cento. Friendly service, yummy vanilla latte, and beautiful interior inside a famous historical building.

All around pleasant experience in terms of both the service and coffee. I had the flight and…read morethought it was overall good. They explained that the flight includes an espresso shot, espresso shot with milk, hot coffee, and iced coffee. I hadn't had a straight espresso shot before, so this wasn't for me personally just because it was so overpowering. I enjoyed the other three though. Like the majority of SF, parking is difficult to locate. I was dropped off nearby the location. There is indoor and outdoor seating; I was able to grab an empty spot late in the morning on a weekend, but I don't think seating is always readily available. It's not a huge space.

It seems like there's also an upstairs but did not get the chance to check it out. I got an iced latte with their almond macadamia milk, and they're also so nice to do complimentary cold brew! So we got an extra drink for free. Trying the iced latte, it was pretty disappointing lol. I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

On the days we have gone, the line has varied from being out the door to a quick walk in and order - truly just depends. Regardless of the long line, these drinks are soooo good. Upon entering the coffee shop, you'll see a good amount of seating, but for the times we have gone, the majority of the seats are taken. It is definitely a variety of people socializing, working, reading books, or just hanging out. Parking is metered or street parking, and we haven't had any issue finding parking! It's also in an area where you can shop around (across the street) if you want to grab a bite as well. Our go to orders include the Mocha Dream Espresso Cloud and the Nitro Mango, but we have also gotten the Hojicha Cloud, which is amazing as well. We love the thickness and flavors of the cold foams - you cannot go wrong with any of the cloud drinks. As popular as this place has become, it truly is worth the trip! We will always make a trip whenever we are in the city!

I've…read moreheard this place has one of the best katsu sando around and as a lover of Katsu, I couldn't skip it. There's some good places in SF like Cafe Okawari. But Katsu is really becoming the new hype of the day for Japanese food, following the Sushi, Ramen, Japanese Curry, Katsu trend. So I came in with a critical view. I feel like Yoshoku in general may be next but I yet again digress. The box sandwich came in a cute little box. The inside was packed so I couldn't get a chance to fully appreciate the cafe, but the service was nice though the pay line may have moved slower than hoped. I'll say this. This is "the" best katsu sando in the bay. The katsu is crispy, but little on the softer side. But this hardness matches perfectly with the absolutely tender, soft, juicy pork wrapped inside. I'm looking at the menu again and it all makes sense. The pork has been in shio koji, making the meat ever so tender while adding the subtle but complicated marinated flavor. The cabbage is plenty, but not over packed to take away from the main Katsu flavor. What really perfects it for me, was not only the sweet and savory katsu sauce, but the mayo with dash of I think a karashi mustard. That slight tingle, the perfect kick gives a powerful awakening of flavor that really sets the it apart. This is art, an artisan. Culinary art is the refuge no raging rampant AI slop "art" can ever hope to touch. Until the day we get some cyborg implant to our brain into gustatory, olfactory functions. Even then, I don't think any tasteless tech bro are hopeless to create anything unique or beautiful.

My friend and I sat at the counter basically in a staring contest with the woman behind the counter, who just stared right back. After some 30 seconds, we finally flagging her down to place our order. After turning around the drinks suspiciously quickly, my friend and I sat down to catch-up in the empty cafe. Before long, the barista pumps up the volume, increasing higher and higher every 5 minutes or so, as if to signal to us that our time was up. I asked her to turn down the volume, which she tuned down from an 11 to a 7, but minutes later it continued to creep up, like the snooze setting of an alarm clock coaxing you to wake up - except in this case, to get out. When I politely asked for a cup, she just stared at me for a moment without saying anything, then turned around to grab one. A simple smile or "of course" would have made a big difference. As a young person, I can easily brush off that kind of attitude. But it made me feel sad for my 90-year-old grandfather, who deserves to be treated with warmth and kindness. Customer service isn't just about getting the order right, it's about making people feel welcome, especially elderly customers. The food is consistently great, but I hope the customer service can improve to match the quality of what they serve.
